I need to know who that is. Is it you, Zane, or you, Krasus? We also need a third member in Team Demolition. So someone in ISS create a Gammulan AAE and sign up at GHQ.

Sounds good to me.

That it was. As a result, we agreed on a minor change to the ROE. The AWACS crafts are allowed to use their PTA turrets, but no other crafts. I also decided to change the Galcom respawn point to Quon Station in Ralean (the same as the AWACS launch base) to make it more balanced. Should I post the final version here? -
It all looks pretty good, Zane, including the two new open channels Good work

We'll need 6 people to try it out properly. I have the next ISS fleet meet scheduled for 1930 GMT, so if we can get some others along, we can have ourselves a ROE-test I hope it's not too short notice to get people together, otherwise we'll have to shelve it 'til next weekend, or if you can get 6 people together at some other time, feel free to practice without me. -

Specialized Fleet ROE Discussion.

OK, it occurred to me that no-one really wants to be completely unarmed in a fleet match, and we want ROE's designed for 3 team members, so here is an adapted form of Eye in the Sky that I think will be interesting. We obviously need to try it out before the season starts. Operation Eye in the Sky v2 Roleplay Notes A major fleet engagement is imminent, and both sides have good intel provided by their AWACS crafts. Should one side lose their eye in the sky, it could be decisive Version 2: After a major solar storm which blanked out all radar and communication systems, it appears that both fleets AWACS craft have drifted well out of position and are vulnerable to enemy attack Players required: 3 on each team Both teams are comprised of the same craft: 1 AWACS craft (armed transport) 1 Carrier 1 Cruiser Rules of Engagement * 1. No going planetside by any member of either team. * 2. No docking with any stations once the match has started. All craft must remain in space. * 3. No use of PTA or AI fighter craft are allowed, only mines, missiles and main guns. * 4. The match will end when either one of two conditions are met: A. The 60-minute time limit expires. B. One team has completed both objectives, though the match must still last at least 45 minutes. Launch Bases/Respawn points: Insurgents: Farpoint Station in Tapestran, (Version 2: AWACS craft Antilles Station in Rovarix, moving to the Junae region before match start) Respawn Point: Antilles Station in Rovarix Galcom: Eterna Station in Galadran (Version 2: AWACS craft Quon Station in Ralean, moving to the Foron region before match start) Respawn Point: Guardstar Station in Junae Match Procedure: The Two AWACS craft log in first, followed by the rest of the teams. In the event of no server logs or observer, when all craft are logged in and launched, they must send their name and ship type to their own AWACS craft (who send their info to themselves) The AWACS craft keep their chat windows open all through the match, all other craft close theirs as soon as the match begins. Through teamspeak, the AWACS craft of each team can give his teammates good radar intelligence for as long as his craft is intact. (I.e. enemy craft current location and hyperdrive activity as given in his chat log) and continually update this information as he receives it. All craft are free to move around as they see fit (including the AWACS) with the only restriction that they stay in space. When killed, all craft should respawn as cruisers, including the AWACS craft and carrier, the AWACS craft closing his chat window and becoming merely a conventional military asset for his team. Team Objectives Primary Objective: Destroy opposing AWACS craft while keeping your own alive: 3500 EP, 350 ranking points Secondary Objective: Destroy the command craft of the opposing fleet (the carrier ): 1500 EP, 150 ranking points. Both Primary and Secondary Objectives: 7000 EP, 700 ranking points. -
So who is Kynlif (listed in Team Demolition)? We're supposed to be using the same names in the fleet database and at Galcom HQ.

Well, I got back safely on Wednesday afternoon, but with raging flu since Tuesday, the flight was not so fun I'm definitely hitting those low notes right now, maybe IÔÇÖll be restricted to chat at our next training session, which will be 1930-2100 GMT on Sunday.

Team created (Team Demolition), using the same Joining password as our regular team (team Praetorian), to clarify who is actually a member there. I have no idea who the other two are, maybe a coupe of noobs who applied to the Gammulans a while back, and only got noticed when I PM'ed Jag. Krasus, Rip, you creating AAE's?

Oh, and it wouldn't let me create an AAE account at Galcom HQ with the same email adress I used for my normal AE. I got round it by creating another email account on my local server. Any suggestions for those who don't want to do that? -

Down the right hand side of the home page at galcom.net, there is the Fleet menu. Click on Create Team, and follow the instructions from there. If you get stuck at any stage, there are plenty of us who can give you a hand. -
That it is, make sure you post in our training thread the times of the week you are available to meet up, and we can see about arranging some sessions for you.
-
Oh, and don't forget to send me a report on what you worked on I'll be back home on Wednesday evening, and be able to join you guys in mp next weekend.
-
I'm not in yet- have just applied as Boran Zavok of the GMV Ominous (if appoved, of course )
-
I noticed that, and commented on it in the Fleet Seaon thread. We'll have to try and get Jag's attention on that somehow. I'm PM'ing him now.
-
:ahem: best is a title to be earned, not just claimed. Good luck
-
OK, I have initiated a new roll call in the fleet database. Everyone go and respond there, and if you haven't yet, go and post in our training thread what times you are available on-line for training and/or matches.

OK, as far as I can see there are two Galcom teams, Alpha(Prime) and Praetorian(ISS), both with full membership and an Insurgent team with only Shohashi listed, but I'm sure that'll be filled out with Chavik and Eclipse at least. As yet there has been no response from Gammulan high command to Zane's offer of a mass AAE application to the Gammulan Patrol Fleet by ISS members, otherwise we'd be able to fill an AAE team in no time, producing a two-on-two situation. If Prime can field a second team and send three AAE's to the Insurgents (or two to the Gammulan Diplomacy fleet, since I suspect Jaguar is the only active member there), then we'd have three galcom and three hostile-to-galcom fleets, a good starting point. Ideally though, we want the same number of Galcom and Insurgent teams, with any number of Gammulan teams, since they are hostile to both. -
we all know what you meant

yeah, keep 'em seperate, or it gives a big advantage to those commanders who run an AAE in the standings table -
Still no response from Walkeren? I'm afraid we'll have to refuse his application. Application Refused.
-
Or the ISS section, or that of any other fleet, after looking at the fleets faq to get a general idea of what each fleet does though the personnel info on that page needs a little updating. Take a look at the current active fleets, ask them questions and decide what appeals to you most, then make the big step and sign your life away

quote: Originally posted by Marvin: In other words, after the next championship, Ben can be both first and second place winner? That'd be a nice easing of the family budget . Sorry I don't have the on-line time to take part in this discussion at length from merry old England, but I'm following it every few days. If the secondary AE's are all just following orders, then it will be possible to keep ISS's secrets secret, though the team tactics in whatever team my AAE is involved in may suffer as a result. Being head of an Intel fleet makes me kinda paranoid about tactical security, but it can be done this way, just our AAE's would have to act dumb a little. We managed it informally last year when filling in for the Insurgents on occasion and our performance when playing for other fleets was counted towards our individual scores, but this way we'd have a team total recorded as well. Just exploring options, I'll go with whatever is decided.
