Hopefully this gives you inspiration for another UC sequel....Come on, we all know you're craving for it!
-
Read that this morning. Who's next? Elite4 or GCO?

I had to write a rant about that game, I hate feeling cheated! Now, I WILL write something about aerial combat in AAW, as soon as I get to survive longer than 3 minutes ariborne...I knew the EMD jammer needed some tweaking..But now I feel so sorry and really p** my pants when a SAM gets a lock on me
-
So, anyone tried it? I did, and am deeply dissapointed by it. The official word was that they were trying to satisfy both arcade and simulation players, but in the end I've yet to find anything even remotely realistic about that arcade shooter. I'm fine with these (had fun with some ace combat games) as long as I know what to expect and they don't try to lie to me. So, realism in H.A.W.X? Don't even hope for any such thing. You WILL be asked to dogfight in a A-10. Against mig-29s. And you WILL crush them. All 10 of them. At once, cause you're a hero. Of course, to do that, you will be helped by your afterburner (even on A-10s and SU-25s), unlimited fuel, close to unlimited weapons, unlimited gun ammo, the highly retarded Enhanced Reality System (which I consider as quite insulting for any self-respecting player) that displays the path you have to follow to lead on your target (obviously, they think gamers can't use their brain and a two axis pad at the same time), the highly unrealistic manual mode, which supposedly removes all fly-by-wire control limitations, while all it does is allowing for definitely unrealistic manoeuvers (like turning round in something like 3 seconds to shoot a bogey in your six). Physics are fucked up, banking 90░ or even flying upside-down wont affect your velocity-vector the very least bit and you wont bleed any airspeed doing high-G tight turns and you will even be able to speed up even when climbing straight 90░ up, obviously all planes in H.A.W.X have a thrust/weight ratio above 1. H.A.W.X isn't a flight simulation. It is a flight shooter, period. Now, is H.A.W.X fun? I'm not sure the game is fun. I only played some campaign coop missions on a friend of mine's console, and must say these missions are quite boring, and damn too easy. Avoiding missiles is child play, and your plane is just plain too agile to let anyone land a gunshot at you. However, dogfighting using the Manual mode was quite fun, if highly unrealistic; I can say I never had a chance to do such moves in Falcon4.0, and it was quite pleasant. The overall feeling I got about H.A.W.X was dissapointment, luckily I didn't buy it. 70Ç for that, sorry, no Edit: Shouldn't that go into the Console gaming section? Eh, sorry.

Problem - Can't Recharge Interceptors
RT replied to fluxax's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
Well, tactical - launch is the place where you conduct all operations related to your support assets except repairs, so it makes sense to use it for recharging. As a general rule, I always use tactical - launch for assigning personnel to support assets, even though you can do that using Tactical - crew. This sounds just right. Actually, this isn't really a workaround, this is the RIGHT way to do things. Your previous way of doing it WAS the workaround Glad you fixed your problem. -

I'm sorry, I can't really help you with this one. Sounds like something strange is going on, you may want to re-read the manual and triple check your FCs status. Then, do a forum search, maybe someone got into the same trouble. -

Also remember, if the fighter is too damaged it will fail the integrity check and wont be available for launch untill your repair it. You should check that too in logistix - crafts -

Now, remember charging a fighter takes 15 minutes, did you wait that long? If you assigned engineers to readying a craft, you can check its status (and the remaining time) in the Launch screen in tactical, or on the bridge in the VDD in SSS mode (press the next/previous target keys to switch between assets, or alternatively click the SSS button). -

Nevermind my comment then. Now, are you using the tactical - launch option for assigning enginers or the 'ready FC#' option in tactical - crew ? What is the exact matter? Can you assign engineers to the fighters at all? If so, do they move at all? monitor them using PERSCAN and just check if they get stuck in places. Can the engineers reach the fighter bay? There could be a damaged deck section that could prevent them from going there. Is the CC damaged? And more important, is the central charging unit powered (check logistix - power)? -

First of all, hello. Second, what game are we talking about? UC:AWA and UC:SE are two different games. I hope you didn't install both games in the same directory, did you? -
The ICC is quite inactive these days...

The issue was already raised here: http://www.3000ad.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50026667

Welcome aboard! Btw, which game are you using?
-
Somehow you expect such threads to get revived every once in a while.. say, once a year! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SC (It's already 3am here you know )
-
So, it's been a year now. Any chance to shake everyone up a bit? Fleet action has been pretty dead lately. What version are you all using, did we all eventually make the move to UC:CE?
-
1km isn't that great of a distance (heck! you're actually sticking to his 6), so yes, you will take damage from the debris. Now, are you sure you took armor damage? The shield should have taken it all. Cloaked ships will briefly decloak when firing, be it main guns fire, missile launches or PTA fire. You will be able to detect it then, and if you're quick enough you can even add it to the...oh wait, I'll let you find it out on your own. I'm not sure there's any, but it can skyrocket quite fast. Intruders can only board you if they know you're out there. Personnel other than intruder only beam into your ship in ACM mode. Yes and yes. Actually, whenever you enter a zone, you activate it: the game will now track all that's happening in it, and will spawn ships etc. The more regions you get through (activate), the more of a stress on the CPU though. Now, I'm not dumb enough to fire at a cargo pod containing artifacts or let anyone near it, but I guess it's definitely something that could happen.

Make a search on your whole harddrive, looking for player0.sgd, should help you. Now, what about checking the various folders in "My documents", especially the one labbeled "My games" ?
-
Maybe you could upload the saved game somewhere so that we can try it?
-
I meant drivers for that hardware of yours. Check you're using the latests online, those provided on CD are usually way outdated. Now, if upgrading those drivers doesn't fix it, describe precisely what's going on (check this thread for an example).
-
What Kalshion said. As a general rule, use the latest official, supported drivers for your hardware and the latest supported, non-beta patches for the game. UCCE (not the beta version) is the most stable game of the series, so if there are crashes, it mostly comes from bad drivers.
-
Which version are you using? What's your config? Which drivers are you using?
-
I'd like to add some things on what canshow said. That was right in the BC games, shuttles weren't using the Z axis efficiently. I don't think I ever saw that problem with the UC series. Actually, your crew only gains experience while on duty. Also, if you send them off duty before you go to sleep, they will eventually get back on duty without you telling them to, as soon as their FF is down to 0, so they'll most likely have built up FF again once you (as in, the player) get up, though not as much as they used to I guess, it all depends on how long you sleep True, unless you found a blind spot, in which case you just have to deal with the defense crafts. If your aim is to destroy the station completely, get as close to the station as possible, putting it between you and the defense fleet. If they're on the other side, they'll shoot the station. Definitely true. The way the jammer works in game, it's a 99% win button against missiles.

Basically, An Orbiter MMO? No thanks, I'm fine with my single player Orbiter, no tards to come spoil my fun.
