It is about time they added power switches to scanners. I have an Epson Stylus 600 printer, with a Visioneer 3100b parallel port scanner. Thank God the light doesn't stay on all the time. My Dad on the other hand, picked up a Visioneer 4100 USB Scanner. Whenever he shuts down his machine, the light will stay on until the machine is turned back on. I checked Visioneer's site for a fix for this, and only got a statement that stated it was a normal occurance, and the light bulb was guaranteed for a year, and is rated for so many thousand of hours of use. Ouch, I feel for SC, and anybody else that is stuck on Dialup. I am a new DSL customer as of the beginning of April, and all I can say is the internet hasn't been the same since. My sister-in-law bought a new HP PC back in the beginning of '98. This machine came standard with a 28.8k modem. I didn't know it at the time, because she uses AOL. One time I was visiting and dialup my own ISP that I know is faster than 28.8. Low and behold a 28.8 connection. So I went ahead and got her a $20 56k modem. Hell, if you are doing dialup, at least get the most speed out of it.

I always get junk in my Yahoo account, and occasionally in my main account. I too just delete if the subject reads spam. You have to balance yourself very carefully. My wife is usually happy if I spend time with her, and keep up the laundry. If any of those 2 slip, I'm usually in trouble.

ROTFLMAO!!! OMG, I am soooo glad I was done with lunch before checking this thread. I practically feel out my seat with laughter.

This is why my wife and I use 1 credit card for online shopping only. This card does not have a balance on it, and when a statement comes in the mail, I diligently check it for expected purchases, and then pay the balance off in its entirety, whenever possible. Should this card ever get hacked, then the account will be closed. I once read an aritical about this very same thing. This one person had to call all 8 of his credit card companies, and write them letters as well. WTF would you use 8 cc's online???
