A long time ago in a beta now far away ... I decided to take on a Star Station when the SC activated the station turrets and the beam weapons in the early days of the beta. Mind ye now, up till then we were finding and squashing many a bug but it was becoming somewhat repetitive checking the same thing(s) over and over again after each patch release. Having read but not believing what the SC put in the VCF regarding beam weapons and how tough the stations were now I says to meself, "self - let's see how much smack the SC is talking about these here stations". So I SNG, etc. and head for the nearest hostile star station. Found the puppy (Pixan) and started to give it the ol' what for - or so I thought. Now the SC spenyt some time pecking awayat the keyboard updating the VCF but did I care about that? Nooooooooooooo! I was gonna take that station out just like I did in BC3K a plethora of times. So I gets Pixan in the CVD and do the hyperjump thing. A couple of minutes latter the HJ ended and I watched in horror as my shields and armor levels went from full to nil in a matter of seconds. Needless to say them stations with those really long reach beam weapons stashed inside them turrets were/are just as tough as what was written in the VCF. Oh, I forgot to add - my CC DeD real blooming quick. Never got within 60km of the station. Moral of the story - never doubt what is written in the VCF and remember to ************** *************** before taking on them stations again. TTFN [ 10-23-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ]

They should be thankful there is free speech in this country...
Gallion replied to a topic in General Chatter
What is a flag? In reality it is nothing but colored thread woven and sewn into a pattern; easily redisigned, easily replaced. The burning of a flag (any flag) means nothing to me. Why? Because there is more to being a patriot than the just waving a flag and reciting the national anthem. Though how the those twits escaped unscathed befuddles me and shows just how timid and tolerant our education system has become. To think that in 40-50 years this generation will be in the position to take charge of this country gives me the willies. To me the flag is a symbol that can never be destroyed. It is the constitution that sets this nation apart and above the rest of the world. As to this: quote:I take it that lining them up in front of a firing squad is out of the question then? You find them, I'll frag them But I digress TTFN [ 10-22-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ] -

Into The Fire Act Five - Operation Golgotha
Gallion replied to Blades's topic in Role Playing Discussions
[rp] Dust, dirt, and grime is what I spit outta my mouth after hitting the deck just before the grenade went off. Chavic and I went over the pros and cons of using explosives - of any type - to clear the rubble blocking the mine. My only question to him was, "Do you feel lucky?" Obvisouly he did 'cause he was enlarging the small hole we'd made like a man possessed whilst I still was spitting foreign substances from me mouth. York was no help, he just grinned and swung them rags in his hand round and round. Bah, bloomin idjits I say ... and York is enjoying this entirely to much. But as they say in lala land - the show must go on. I scrambled to me feet and followed Chavic through the hole into the darkside of the moon. I noticed that the others of the point crew followed. Separation of Church and State: A Fallacy
Gallion replied to aramike's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
I agree with you Melcar and disagree with a majority of Aramike's original premise. There must be a definable line between Church and State! Just look at the state of Utah and one will "see" where I am coming from. Them Mormons are all screwed up TTFN [ 10-20-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ] -
quote:Tonights episode was pretty good actually, I was actually impressed with it. But that Vulcan Female, they have got to grow her a personality of some sort. She is playing the Vulcan role perfectly IMO. Remember - she be a full blooded Vulcan. Not a half-breed like Spook is TTFN

Whilst I was applying some finishing touches on my still incomplete IACM I became extremely cocky during the mission playtest phase. To Wit Premise is simple - I swipe a CC (BCMkII) from GHQ and hightail it outta the area before the cav comes a calling. There are many that come a calling too. Slowly, one by one I DeD the cav until there is only Galcom HQ, Genesis, and the two ODS platforms left in earthz. So I gets a real wild one up me back side and target the ODS orbiting the Earth, press shift+9 and hyper on over. Only problem was that I forgot how long the transition time from HJ to normal space takes. Needless to say my CC was decimated by the ODS before I could move my CC or activate the cloaking system. There was not a system left on my CC greater than 50% and several systems were either destroyed (CB1, Transporter, Fighter Bays, FCs, etc.) or severely damaged (reactor, shields, armor, computer systems, etc.). All decks were radiated, 1/2 of my SEs and FEs were terminated, Pilots left their stations (and could not be reassigned anywhere). Basically the SAS was red and I was up the creek without the preverbial paddle. I couldn't HJ anywhere - engine damage > 75% (nasty thing there SC ) - so I launched a SC after assigning a marine to it (who said jarheads were stupid?) and had it tow my CC to Gazer1 in Pluto. Needless to say the rest of the mission was hairy. Trying to fix one's CC at the same time fighting off some very PO's Galcom forces was very exciting. Never once did I think about quiting and starting over. Took me 6 missions (12 game hours) to get my CC, FCs, and SCs completely repaired. Now that was fun TTFN [ 10-18-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ]
