Open a MsDos Window and type the following command exactly as stated: mem /c |more >mymem.txt Then open the mymem.txt file in wordpad or other word processing application (note this will be located in the c:windows directory) Copy the text contained in the file and post (via paste) on this topic.

hehehe...I would have to agree with ye there SC, no need to give the competition any edge

Activate COM2 in ye system BIOS setup. How ye gets there varies from system to sytem. Read the documentation that came with your system or visit the mfgr's website for specific tech support.

Way back when someboday stated (exact somebody unknown to me) that imitation is the greastest form of flattery. If they can pull it off then the hype or in this case pre-hype looks very promising.

Yep been down this road before. It is a fluke I think and not related to Playmod use/disuse. I have sent all crew to bed (so-to-speak) and once they get to there sleeping holes (quarters of Medibay) I dock and repair me battered and bruised BC. Not self-inflicted mind ye. All battle-damage Anyway, several times I noticed one or two straglers would take their bloody sweet time getting to where I sent them (quarters, Medibat, etc.) and appeared to be suck at a certain aft-deck location (various from time to time). TO fix this I sent them in the opposite direction to where these sloth crewers were enroute to. Example: Several SE are repairing CB2. I Initailly sent them Off-Duty but they appeared to get stuck enroute to their bunks. So I sent them to Medibay. Whuich they arrive at no problemo. I them release reassign them Off-Duty and they make their way to their bunks. Round about way but it worked for me. Something else that one may want to consider when the crew members appear to get stuck on a deck. Their destination compartment may be full and room is not available for anymore reasting souls. Anyway, this is my experience only. Others may have simuliar but different ones. TTFN [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 05-23-2000).]

hehehe...congrats on making it. Now comes the big question - Now What are ye gonna do with your life? Not a simple question to answer as one might first think. Does one continue on to upper-level education; college, university? Does one try their hand in the game of life by jumping right into the job-market place hoping to find that one job/profession that will make the big-bucks? Or does one succumb to all those recruiting ads that bombard the young folks these days and at the same time promising them the world? It's not just a job, it's an adventure; Aim High; etc.. I find myself wondering the samething from time to time. TTFN

This can be done without Fleet CC. You know all that dead time left over from preious mission and the dead time between end of preious mission and beginning of this one? Use the time to capture Zerin SS. Since Zerin is not a hostile target, PTA system will not fire on the SS. So this means firing a slewful of missiles and mega squeezes on the trigger firing the IOD. Be careful once SS armor level reaches 250. Change IOD strength to 10% and fire one-shot at a time. Do not fire next shot until after preious shot strikes Zerin SS. Once Zerin SS goes grey and begins the emitting SOS beacon, capture the Station by docking with it. With any luck SS will be captured before mission begins. Then let the mission clock run. At end of mission you should get "successful" completion message and appropiate EPs. TTFN

I disagree. Dinosaur is an excellant family movie in the Disney tradition. Heck even my kid caught some of those cliches, she be only 9. Which in turn means that I needs to clean me shotgun up and double up the load. I dont use rocksalt TTFN

Must be nice to get a cool system this year and then turn around and get a screamer next year. Seriously though, with the specs ye just toted, I see no problem with getting a Anthon 700. The performance gain vs price difference between the Anthon 700 and 800 is not significant enough to justify Anthion 800 procurement. Taking into account ye be getting a new top-of-the-line system next year; which should be near the 3ghz range if I understand the various radar reports I've been perusing. Bottom line: Anthon 700, GeForce 256 v-card, up RAM to 256 (PSB 133 or 100), with an xDSL connection or 2-way cable. V-card and net connection would be the key ingredients for success in BC:M IMO. Disclaimer This is my opinion only, others will vary depending on preferences and what not TTFM

Change ye DMA setting from D3 to D1. This can be done at using the BC3K sound setup program. After selecting digital make sure that ye test the configuration. If sound sounds choppy during setup test then it will laso sound choppy in the game. Experiment with diff SB settings (SB, SBPro, SB16, etc) until one no longer sounds choppy. As to the effects, check ye SBLive! effects settings. What ever ye has selected there, Arena, underwater, cave, concert hall, etc. will carry over into BC3K gamesession. I discovered this by accident one day. Neat gizmo I think. When ye loaded the SBLive! software was "SB Legacy support for Dos based programs" enabled? If not then ye will have to enable it. Either through the SBLive! menu or remove and reinstall. Check SBLive! documentation for details. I am running the SBLive! Platinum version with no problems what so ever. When I configured sound setup I selected SBPro from Digital and SB for Midi. Then disabled Midi at the BC3K Config window. TTFN [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 05-22-2000).]

I would have to say this is a fluke and no where near as bad as before. Thing was I wasn't trying to replicate this anomally. When I was trying to make it happen it would not appear. The fix - don't click on empty Interceptor weapons slot (or BC). Not a major issue IMO.
-
Run setup from the dos prompt: c:bc3000adsetup One could let the setup prog autodetect digital and midi but I find this way to be error prone. From the Menu "Select Digital" and "Select Midi" Set both of these selections to SBPro of just plain old SB. It will work. I also have a SB Live! and the SFx are pare-excellance, specially when set default SBLive! settings to various acoustics; Arena, Stadium, etc. BC rocked before but now it be rockin' more! TTFN and hope this helped ye some

Whislt beginning a new ACM campaign I managed to replicate the game crash when clicking on empty interceptor weapons slot. Managed to do this three times in a row. All were not done on purpose - just my lack of paying attention to what I was doing. Interesting, thought this bug was fixed. TTFN

Yep, good parody of actual mil activity. One must place their priorities forefront. I would have ditched the weaps also. Too bad they didn't find some OJ to go with the Vodka TTFN

quote:Thankx but still crashing with save right before TOD2 M4.. I too have been plagued by this problem in the past, hasn't happened to me for a long time. What Blades posted is the same thing I did to get past that moment in the game. Failed to work 100% of the time and had to delete the entire profile and start fresh in a different profile slot. quote:Can I provide more info that is helpful? Yes, always include version of game ye be running along with system info (as ye did provide) and the exact nature of troubles ye be experiencing. TTFN and enjoy

Now for really bad news bit or would this be a marketing ploy. Perused the bookstands at the Bx otherday and noticed an odd occurance. Battlefield Earth has been released in its original pulb form but with Travolta's mug predominantly displayed on the book cover. TTFN

Welcome to the game Which version of BC3000ad are you running? Current version is v2.09. To get to the issue: Open MSDos Window and do the fiollowing: C:WINDOWS> [type]cd [then press enter] C:>[type]edit config.sys [then press enter] You are now able to edit the config.sys file of ye system. Careful errors can be hazardous. Look for the following line in the config.sys: DEVICE=C:WINDOWSEMM386.EXE NOEMS type rem at the beginning of the line rem DEVICE=C:WINDOWSEMM386.EXE NOEMS then type the following (or copy/paste/edit) DEVICE=C:WINDOWSEMM386.EXE Goto the menu, save file and exit program. Reboot system. This will activate EMS though I fail to understanfd the need. I have a 733mhz, 256mb RAM - 133 FSB and 3d Prophet GeForce v-card. BC3000AD runs just fine - screams almost with NOEMS in config.sys. Unless you have a 3dFx based v-card you will not be able to run BC3K in 3d mode - software only. TNT2 Cards are supported. Check the Readme file and FAQ again. run x:BC3000ADBC3000AD /v? and a list of supported v-cards will scroll down ye screen. There is close to 100 v-cards supported. TNT2 is one of them. quote:Had not the SC issued a moratorium on defections, I'd already have more high ranking Galcommies in the Insurgency than Galcom does! hehehe [rp] 2323, March 18, 3008 Antis Planetary Orbit The flotsam and debris of battle spread across the system on a never ending journey through the cosmos. The old man on the bridge of a blackened and battered Galactan class MkII Battlecruiser surveyed the system via his TacOps display. Empty and lifeless hunks of various warshiplasses of various races were scattered across the Antis system. Testament to the savagery of the battle that had taken place within this system just a short while ago. The old Corsair noted that not a single hulk of wreckage bore the distant signature of the force known to inhabit the Antis system. Not a single trace or particle within the flotsam could be traced to the Spectre that Gallion knew dwelled within the confines there-in. This is the third time that Gallion had ventured within these confines seeking those that dwelled within. The first time was an act of desperation with an offer made by the Man behind the Mirrored Glasses ÔÇô it had almost cost him his life. The second time was also an act of desperation on his part and those Galcom forces with him ÔÇô it had cost him somebody close to his heart and part of his sanity too. The third time was the charm, or so thought the man pacing the bridge of the last Corsair Wing Battlecruiser. A mysterious message had been received on the Graf SpeeÔÇÖs communications system that originated somewhere within the confines of space known as the Antis system. The message was addressed to him and highly encrypted using the latest Galcom code protocols. The last item was more than enough to spark GallionÔÇÖs interest but the first item was what really shanghai'ed both his curiosity and ire. The contents of the message were exact and explicit, opening old wounds that had been healed decades ago, or so Gallion thought. Details and events contained within the message were accurate, at least the majority of the message, to the memories reopened. The day of terror and horror, so long ago in Old New Orleans, replayed within the thoughts of Gallion. The carnage; the bloodshed; the screaming; all came back as he remembered a time in his youth. The message told the truth of that day but not as how Gallion remembered it. The message provided evidence that implicated other agencies and organizations that were responsible for the deaths that day of the peaceful gathering of friends and families. Evidence that was contrary to what he had been taught and told since that fateful day. Those in power write history as they see it whether through victory in battle or the politburo. History recorded that the Insurgency was responsible for the massacre in New Orleans that day. Politburo dogma reinforced this throughout GallionÔÇÖs youth through the indoctrination program known as education. The evidence contained with the message, stored on the PDA Gallion clutched in his hand, exonerated the InsurgencyÔÇÖs role completely. There would be hell to pay if Gallion could verify the evidence. Which was the reason for his third visit to Antis and the Spectre within. I have spent the past several days off and on trying to duplicate this annomaly without success. This bug I know has been fixed, v2.03 I think. I too was a victum of same bug way back when. Possible corrective measures that can be taken: 1 - Do Not click on an empty weapons slot; BC or IC. 2 - Completely delete and reinstall BC3k, with all patches and MapPax fixes. This of course is the most drastic route. All saved profiles and games would be lost also. 3 - Ignore this reckomendation and continue enjoying the game - just remember to not click on an empty BC or IC weapons slot. TTFN and good luck
