I can't tell you what the program is named but, I think you're looking for something to write all ones or zeros to the drive. If I'm not mistaken Nortons made a program that would perform that task in order to secure a sensitive drive from being recovered. It might not help anyway if you have scratched the disc surface with the flying head..... kiss it goodbye before dropping it in the round file.

It's funny how it has become ever so convenient for the military to draft current enlistees beyond their TOS, especially when you consider that there have been Generals in the pentagon who have retired during a time of war. Now if the authorities suspect that he was responsible for the injuries that dibilitated his wife, then they should charge him with a crime and lock him away from the rest of society. Until that's done, everyone else should butt the hell out. Unless we have intimate knowledge of the events that led up to thise case, who are we to judge? Oh, last time I looked, witholding medical treatment is a crime in this country, except when you don't have a way to pay for treatment. Just ask the religious nutjobs who got locked up for deferring medical treatment for their children to God. Man has placed far too much faith in modern medical science. Which Imho has done as much harm as it has good. In closing my opinion on this current event, Mr Schiavo will be the one who will be judged for his actions. Not by us, not by God, Only by himself. So I for one will keep my nose in my own business and I would thank the courts and the governments and anyone else for minding theirs.

I don't think that the "tube" is shoved into your breadbasket and a funnel is hooked to it for pouring in chicken soup. Quite the contrary. You are fed through an intravienous drip, so your stomach pretty much shrivels up anyway. Personally, I can't fathom the idea of being kept alive artificially for ten years. Being tapped within a broken shell is not my idea of "living" In this country we euthanize our old and sick animals to prevent them from suffering and we could be fined and or jailed for cruelty if we allow them to suffer. Human beings are animals too, no matter how many times some religious nutjob wants to say otherwise. That's all I'm going to say about that.

Froman seems to have some common sense and I agree. We have armed airline pilots to protect passengers from terrorist hijackers. Hopefully with rubber bullets. Maybe arming teachers to protect their students might be the answer to preventing this type of tragedy. It's unfortunate that this has gone way past the isolated incident category. I am of the opinion that it will occur more frequently in the future because of the financial squeeze being placed on the family by greedy corporate and governmental types. Too many families out there that require two wage earners just to make ends meet. Then there are the single parents who struggle to hold down a low paying job and they are forced by financial neccessity to leave their child/children at home, unsupervised. This is the recipe for these types of events. Add in a parent with a drug and/or alcohol problem and you get an abused child that is seething inside like a volcano. Sooner or later it erupts in violence and death. Boil this one down and it begs the question: "Why didn't grampa have his weapon/s locked up?? I doubt it would take anyone more than a few seconds to put in a trigger lock or put their ammunition in a combination safe. At any rate, people die, that's a given. It's unfortunate that so many people have trouble dealing with the time, place, and method of departure. I'm sure the big drug company guys are high fiving each other in a board room somewhere. They get to sell more drugs to screw up more people to kill more people. It's a Win Win for the Prozac makers.

In Texas you can shoot and kill a horse thief without worrying about legal repercussions. In this day and age the automobile has replaced the horse but stealing a car is considered the same as stealing a horse. This one begs other questions.. Why was this guy being brought in by ONE deputy? Why was the deputy packing a weapon? I have seen the inside of alot of jails and not one of them allowed a weapon to be brought in by anyone. Same for courthouses. Common sense is indeed rare.
