Ok enough talk. Here's your chance to play "TheBunny". lets see how you make out against a Gammulan Stormcarrier or two. Just download and install this GBS script. scripts.exe Read the included readme.txt if necessary. You need BCM1008RC15. I cleared Earth zone in 18 minutes on my first attempt but if I'd chosen a faster craft could of done it quicker. Although written as an instant action scenario I changed it to roam Command Career so that you can play on at the end by which time you should have an inventory value of around 300 000 000 credits and attained a rank Strategic Commander. There are no tricks twist or traps just a simple battle. Auto generation is on. [ 10-17-2002, 09:01 PM: Message edited by: Pugwash ]

I configured my server to let anyone in even if they hadn't passed the training, just wish I knew how to configure random levels? Lol killed and been killed by a few teammates myself could say something about Americans and friendly fire Buy another PC and run your own server like I said no guarantee of getting on though.

Having fun with this set up a server on mywork station and playing on my games machine. Seems stable only problem I've had apart from a sticky keys is when I disconnected I couldn't get back on to my own server for five mins

Still arround Sir.

If you go down the MySql root you could also use the free PHP language available from www.php.net/ With this cross platform language and HTML code you can write pages to access / query the database in any browser. You would also need a suitable web server (PWS, IIS, Apache) to serve the pages.

Remember that the stores manifest for hostile and neutral units is not displayed in the CVD/SMD unless that unit is a cargo pod. So, even though you can use the collect order to do a blind collect from a target (one that you know has cargo or that you are guessing has cargo), you can't tell if it has anything or not. In multiplayer new rules will be introduced in order to prevent pilfering of NPC and player cargo items by other players (or even NPCs).

Roberto You get violations for the following mission failures: Tod1 M1/5(x2), Tod1 M2/5(x2), Tod1 M3/5(x2), Tod2 M3/5 (5 violations) You can get more than one violation in the missions but always get 5 for failing Tod2 M3/5 This is from the pre release BCM script which has had a few changes since the Beta and looks like a few more in progress since Gold but should be fairly accurate.

I've got to agree with TRD on the mission time, but the missions aren't supposed to be straight forwards, fly here, fly there, collect X you have to use your brain and figure out what you must do and what you can afford to miss out and still succeed in the missions. In BCM time is very short I did it last night with only seconds to spare and I do mean seconds (as with Tod 1 mission 2 that could do with an extra 10 minutes as Dip 4 tends to do some sightseeing) Lets take a look at the number of jumps it takes to play the script out as it unfolds If your CC is ready in LV-130 at the start of the mission which it should be as you set off to get ther before the last mission ended right. LV130 to Polaris-1 via FLUX 06 6 jumps Polaris-1 to LV-105 via FLUX 06 and FLUX 12 11 jumps LV-105 to Tyrinis via FLUX 11 4 jumps Total Number of jumps 21 it take around 15 seconds to enter the jump gate, wormhole or Flux field at the end of each jump and enter the new destination so add that to the engine recharge time and transit time so for a CC like the Megaron ( that's 225 x 21= 4725 seconds nearly 79 minutes that leaves 11 minutes for other things. This means you need to know the script and not wait for any information messages (which in my book is close to cheating) Now you can do the double Shuttle Shuffle Tow and save nearly a minute a jump (with a Megaron) but that is cheating or Select a CC with faster combined transit time, engine recharge time. or (not checked this out but should be ok) start mission with CC in LV-130 with the CC parked at the jump gate to LV-125, two shuttles launched and ready Once the mission starts and the message plays send one shuttle to tow and the second shuttle to collect the cargo from the Reingard Order the CC to Ylissa then manually fly through FLUX-12 to LV-104 Launch a shuttle to LV-105 and order it to tow the Reingard Shuttle then give it the Halt order and jump to LV-105 then on to Tyrinis Now you only have to find the Salamanda with plenty of time left. I had thought about putting the AE in the shuttle for the run to Polaris-1 and back while sending the CC on to Ylissa but this wont work as the old script used "IF HERE BC THEN" to detect the BC (unless it's changed in the BCM version). Luckily the script doesn't check if you have visited the probe for the rest of the events to play out so just skip it and you will have ample time, you just don't collect the 500 EP's for finding the probe. Me I like to get all those points.

look in C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millenniumdatanavchart.ini if that's where you installed BCM, you need word, TextPad or the like to cope with the document formatting read the info at the top of the file or just look at this page I made earlier Planets.html CYA

LOL The jump matrix page contains (at the bottom) a javascript form which you can use to determine the number of jumps it will take you to travel from any two points, if you select the CC asset type the approximate time it takes to travel there will be calculated. When used in conjunction with the trading data etc should help t plot those trading routes I was going to add fuel usage but am too idle and would have to check the fuel usage of all CC with each engine / reactor upgrade combination. I have plans to change the interface either to take the inputs directly from the grid highlighting the corresponding rows and columns or to use the map to enter the start and end points but haven't got round to that yet. It was originally a tool to help while scripting to calculate just the right amount of time for those ACM mission scripts.
-
I've uploaded the Jumpmatrix so now you can calculate the number of jumps from any point to any point and calculate an approximate travel time from your selected CC asset type. the data needs verifying as I haven't double checked all of it yet, so if you find an error let me know I'll up date the star station and star base page so that you can tell what system the base/ station is in later this week and might get around to putting those missing lines round those tables.
-
Just checked again, Works for me ? but if you can't connect from that link try from my My home web page and navigate to BCM data. and then select from menu. I'll probably up load some more this week including a jump matrix page, it was about 95% finished the problem with it was the JavaScript didn't calculate the number of jumps correctly from the user given start and destination points (forms and dropdown lists), I'll probably just rip the code out and paste the matrix until I have time to fix it. For those who ask what's the best cargo to buy and where? you may want to look at these Map with mouseover popups Data tables web pages They contain details on the BCM solar system as well as sorted item lists to help you maximise the CC loading when space is a priority. The tables use AxtiveX so if your browser doesnot support ActiveX (like Opera) they wont work. I had made over 200 pages some 3-4 months ago but never got round to finishing them off. These aren't finished but they'll do to be going on with. Oh if you click on a title it should pop up a description best viewed wit IE 1024 x 768 at least. I spent the last couple of hours updating the data to RC9. Thanks Gallion for the tip on excel, tab delimited text files and importing them with Dreamweaver, what took days last time only took a 5 - 10 mins a page. How do I set up a trading route Study the data in the pages and the map, Select an area with variety spacestations, starbases with a range of Tech levels and inflation rates. When docked buy the facilities specialised Tech components (AD,AG,HT,RO,etc) The price you pay depends on a few factors but in general they will be low than other item Navigate to another facility with either a higher inflation rate or other speciality and sell. in gereral you should make a profit. repeat. When looking for a place to mine check the Planet page for a suitable planet with high mineral content. Edit URL's changed [ 06-11-2004, 07:12 AM: Message edited by: Pugwash ]

At the end of the first mission I normally have 40 - 50 million and a few upgrades to my Megaron, that's with out using a shuttle to tow the CC. If I tow on every trip I can have all the upgrades and 80 - 90 million in the first hour. If you start at Genesis you will have 5 million (starting asset Megaron) when you have sold everything but for 80 fuel, with which to buy your first cargo. You must resist the temptation to buy any upgrades until you have a large amount of credits, spending 3.5 million on upgrades will cost you 18 million profit at the end of 10 trading trips. Don't forget to use the SC's. OC's, Transporter and Cargo pod for extra storage areas when the need arises. The Cargo pod is particularly good as it stores 500 items, not items up to the volume of 500 this is very usefully if you want to take a few spare FC's or SC's with you later on, the only down side is that you need to have at least 1 item of whatever you have loaded into the cargo pod in one of the bays to unload it. The times I've been stuck with a full cargo pod not knowing what I put in it.

quote: Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr oh, now he tells me. Fixed well I did sort of mention it in passing in the beta GBS (post 30 page 2) in my version of the original script I've added a lot more attackers to prevent staying in earthz, a lot of time adjustments and a few more events but I never managed to get Dip 4 to dock consistently? quote: Originally posted by Tyrn I would label that a bad idea - the one about not running the actual escort. While that was fairly kosher in BC3K, I ended up with -4950 EP in BCM, after the EP were awarded for successful completion of the TOD, because I ignored those two words: Patrol Zone. Now if you aren't worried about the EP, then don't worry about the partrol zone. This is for the first 2 missions of tod 1 only (I normally set off for Majoris before the end of mission 2 to be there to escort the Diplomats back in mission 3) I just rechecked what I had said and it works fine unless the SC changes the script to plug that hole. The script does not check if you are in a particular region at the end of these missions before awarding the points.(BETA v1.0.02 RC3) I scored the 500 points (250 for each mission) and never left earthz You didn't kill some friendlies did you? I had a habit of doing that and finding my self with negative points.

I must have played that mission 20 or 30 time during the Beta then spent hours trawling through the debug files to find out what was happening, sometimes it docks, sometimes it doesn't. You'll find your tight for time on a lot of the missions, My advice would be to stay with your CC in Earthz for the first two missions trading between Galcom and Genesis while towing Dip1 to Majoris with a shuttle you'll have to give the shuttle a new jump to command each time it changes zones, then use the deliver order once in Majoris to "Dock" Dip1. There is no real need for you to escort it. Use the same procedure for dip4 in missions 2 this time you should be able to give the deliver order to the shuttle in Earthz as Majoris station should be in the priority list, The shuttle towing the dip should out run any hostiles by the time they detect it, but if your really unlucky it may run over a mine. By the end of the first 2 missions you'll have a few hundred million in the bank. I know others out their will give better trade routes but this one is very fast less than 2 mins a run, 20% profit both ways and if you place your AE as shuttle pilot and trade with the shuttle you can do a trade run in around 1 minute, Remember to sell all those stores on the CC even the missiles, mines and probes loaded on the CC, FC's and OC's for the start up trading cash. Don't bother to go for the Alien Artifact on the UCV-MOLONOK in Obsidia, item 331 is a SAM-ACM in BCM not the HSD of BC3K and in any case you can raise much more money by trading in the time it would take you to get to Osidia so simply trade and buy one. Another thing you'll notice is if you collect cargo from these ships they will be removed from the game so if the NPC is needed for the mission to play out correctly don't collect its cargo. It's the AI of Jo Lanix Research Engineer that's the controlling factor here's the extract from the appendix, but as already said some will work to varying degrees with out being researched??? quote:When an artifact is first brought on-board, you will not be able to use it if the Research Engineer is not on-station or is unable to analyze it. Each time an artifact is brought on-board, it takes a random time between 30 and 60 minutes for the Research Engineer to analyze it based on her AI level. When this analysis is complete, the item becomes available for use and can be installed if applicable. The higher the Research Engineer's AI, the shorter the time taken to complete the analysis. This time also depends on the fatigue and life factors. The required AI factor for the analysis of all artifacts is listed below. If the Research Engineer does not have the required AI level, she will not be able to analyze the artifact and you will be unable to use it. Upgrade artifacts such as the TACYON ANAGRAM SHIELD and the KARANIAN MARK IV REACTOR are only available as upgrades in Logistix after they have been analyzed. The installed flag for all others is set only when they have been analyzed. This means that the HYPERSION SUBSPACE DEVICE, for instance, cannot be used until after it has been analyzed even though it's on the ship. TASKS: AI Monitoring of dangerous mineral levels on ship 25 Hyperion SubSpace Device 75 Tacyon Anagram Shield 65 Trans-Matrix Cloaking Device 75 Karanian Mark IV Reactor 65 R.A.N.D.O.M weapon 100 R.A.N.D.O.M decoder 100 Enhanced Nav Module 50 Celestial Orb 50 Just Another Cyborg, J.A.C 85 Phased Array IOD 85 Well I could have sworn some of those AI levels were lower maybe they have been "tweaked" since last time I looked? Off the top of my head I would of said that the orb required the RE AI to be 35 and JAC 50 glad I check the appendix before I posted. quote:pugwash, did you find your PAD in the shuttles? using beta code you could always find it in a shuttle, but haven't lost it with release code yet. I normally keep the shuttles full of spare parts i.e. a couple of life support systems replacement computers, engines, shields, reactors you know the bare essential incase I need them and use the cargobays for trading items. Celestial Orb and JAC work just fine once you have met the required AI. I spent a very large amount of time verifying that these and other artifacts worked as described, some had to be "tweaked" but by beta230906 or beta230907 they worked 100% guaranteed. Those intruders seem to be able to load shuttles faster than I can, you can be in mid battle (intruders onboard) and the PAD will go off line you check tactical and find a shuttle or two full to the brim with spare parts, empty them, then back to the bridge and if your marines don't get a move on they can steal the PAD again. Celestial Orb is a must have piece of equipment, once its up and running you will be able to have all the crew on duty 100% of the time. No need to send those injured marines to Medibay or off duty, the medics and Orb will take care of their injuries then the Orb will take care of any resulting FF.

Longest free flight game I've run, 8day 6hr 23 mins running day and night with no problems whatsoever. I just love to find those obscure bugs, trouble was my explanation of them was not always up to scratch. Trading in free flight is fun and very lucrative once you've extracted the info you need from the documentation, you soon run out of space to put things and end up with more money than you know what to do with. Try trading with an Unarmed Transport and see how far you can get it does make life a little more tricky. For the chicken livered just stay in Earthz and trade ADs from Galcom to Genesis and HT back not the most lucrative of trades but as safe as they come and one jump each way. You really need those shield upgrades (well I do) when you take the fight to the enemy and remember to load up on those missiles and use them the auto reload is great its saved my ass many a time especially in my scripts. Frame rates well I did experience a little slow down planet side before the code and AI was optimised but no problems since. As a direct comparison with 3K you don't get any slow down of frame rates when playing the converted ACMs.
