I downloaded the full 2.0 and the 1.90-2.0 patch on Saturday. The patch worked on a clean install of 1.90 but not my server, it didn't like the file size of a files that had been altered to get round the Authserver bug. I ran an AAO server nearly 24*7 for about a year with R.O.E at 100. Gave it up around the time 1.90 was due out. Got fed up of all the kiddies complaining ,the Yanks about lag they just wouldn't go play on US servers, the TeamKilling and the gits on dialup who when banned would be back in 10 minutes. I once blocked the whole of a German ISP's dialup service via the firewall to stop on particular annoyance. He (or she) kept saying there was nothing I could do about it as he was on dialup every time I banned his IP address he just disconnected and got a new one. Took me less than five minutes to trace his ISP and find the IP range they used for dialup subscribers, that fixed his little red wagon.

There's nothing wrong with adding to an old thread if you've something relevant to say. Talking about being vague you haven't said exactly what the problem you had was( exact error messages), your system specs / OS which would be needed if you require "UNOFFICIAL" support but then this is the wrong place for that. On a note to all n00bs its not like school here no one will spoonfeed you the answers, especialy if the answers you require are readily available. If you show you've put in some effort ie post in the right area, add to an existing topic, quote other poster's, say what you have done and what happened you'll probably receive a much better response, but then everyone here knows that because they read READ THIS FIRST when they first joined.

I don't mean to be rude but have you tried doing your own research? try the search function http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...c;f=26;t=000009 http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...c;f=26;t=000010 http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...c;f=26;t=000011 there is also a section of this forum dedicated to GBS and modding http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=4 Its all been asked before and often answered before its been asked by the SC. Now just because you I can do something with GBS / GBS II doesn't mean you will be able to do it in GBS III.

damn you all I was trying not to post in this thread cant have that post count rising to high [hypocrite] post count + 1 [/hypocrite]

Topic moved. First quote: None of the BC legacy products are supported any longer. Yes, this includes BC3K v2.0x, released back in 1998. As such, this is the only forum dedicated to the discussion of those products. There is NO tech support for those older products, but, you may find past postings by searching the forum or asking questions, NOT already covered in the BC3K manuals. BC3K v1.0 is definitely not supported and there are no patches to v2.0x. BC3K v2.0x was released on the Internet for free, on 7/17/01, check the downloads page for links to where you can find it. It contains the manual, cheats, GBS etc. You don't need to download ANYTHING else from the downloads page, unless of course you have the boxed versions of this product.that said it does not mean you won't get help from forum members. Second Have a read of the topics in this part of the forum I can see at least 4 threads concerning installing issues in the last 100 days. Third A few more details may help isolate your problem like OS system specifications etc

Ok so your a n00b and having trouble patching / trouble shooting / adding command line parameters ? Well go take a look at these Viewlets page the largest is 2Meg so it may take time to download on dial up. I made about 8 of these with ViewletBuilder2 but they wouldn't work when I uploaded them to my web pages. I re-made a couple with the Free trial version of VieletBuilder4 only problem is it places a logo in the centre of the screen till you buy and register. Your out of luck TOD4 is no more. You should have seen the messages "Congratulations Commander!" and "You have completed your inaugural campaign tour of duty." at the end of TOD3M5 This is the resolve section of tod3m5 code:events 305 !resolve_tod3m5 IF DESTROYED triand THEN ep_dec 2500 broadcast "Mission Failure. UCV-TRIAND was destroyed" broadcast "-2500 EXPERIENCE POINTS" ELSE IF DOCKED triand THEN add_medal 1,1 ep_add 2500 broadcast "Mission Success: UCV-TRIAND reached safety" broadcast "TOD3 COMPLETED: +1 STAR OF MERIT MEDAL" broadcast "+1 STAR OF MERIT MEDAL" broadcast "+2500 EXPERIENCE POINTS" ENDIF ENDIF broadcast "Congratulations Commander!" broadcast "You have completed your inaugural campaign tour of duty." acm_off continue endeventsThe "acm_off continue" code statement as implied turns off the ACM and lets you continue in free flight roam.

don't know if these are any good for you most of the drivers I have on cd-rom are for specific grafix cards and not generic drivers. note the date on the first file six years old and I can still read the cd-rom so much for these guys tests http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...ic;f=7;t=002802 d3rtvg.exe 337kb 10/12/1997 v3-w9x-1.04.04.beta.exe 7341kb 26/03/2000 vb-w9x-figs-1.04.00.exe 2437kb 17/04/2000 3dfxdrivers.zip 744kb 07/02/2000

A long time ago I wrote a complete spoiler on how I completed this ACM but decided not to publish it, the trouble with spoilers are they do just that they spoil the game and the fun in playing. I updated it for BCM and it should be valid for BCMG. This is my way of completing the missions it's not the only way of doing it. I will not debate how and why I do thing the way I do. Do it your own way if you fail try it my way. I have removed the my solutions for TOD3 and TOD4 so it is no longer complete but the mission briefs are still there which will help you decide where to go before the preceding mission ends. This link will be valid for a few days only then I will remove it link removed if you didn't read it you've missed it and if you think I could be bothered to convert it to html or even formating it correctly you'd be wrong. Shush. We try to keep things like this quiet. If the SC hear you he'll change the script. proof here On another note it may have been better to have tagged this onto one of the may threads concerning the ACMs and TODs no mater how old the thread is if you have something constructive / valid to add just resurrect that old thread.

A quick search gave me these ( and many more ) pages to read http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...ic;f=1;t=000682 http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...ic;f=2;t=000525 http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...ic;f=2;t=000462

Don't just say you can do it give an exact step by step instruction on how to unload a CC cargopod and don't give instructions for the Shuttle cargopods.
-
If your talking about the CC's cargopod loaded from LOGISTIX > CARGO Just keep at least 1 item of whatever you loaded into the cargopod in the CC's cargo / weapons bay Then when you want to retrieve the item from the cargopod just select the remaining item in the manifest. I once "lost" 50 FC ASSETS in a cargopod back when they would accept 500 items.

Galadran... and another GAL/EXP probe...
Pugwash replied to Max_rij's topic in Universal Combat Series
I'll give you another couple of clues If you look in the appendix for the station_newamerica.jpg Esoterica is the same station type The station is definitely not a Starbase, it's in what you may call a geostationary orbit at a low altitude -
Galadran... and another GAL/EXP probe...
Pugwash replied to Max_rij's topic in Universal Combat Series
So you visited the Neutral Zone but did you dock at the Galaxian spacestation Esoterica? If your unsure of where you are have a look at the maps in the appendix you need to have patched to version 1.01.00 to have the maps, just brows the docsappendiximagesmaps folder to find them or visit [ 06-11-2004, 07:58 AM: Message edited by: Pugwash ] -

Did you ever had to send an loved animal away?
Pugwash replied to Epsilon 5's topic in General Chatter
I've been sad since this morning when I read your post as it reminded of having to have my dog Shelley put to sleep nearly a year ago. Shelley was a Golden Retriever, nearly 17 years old and suffered from arthritis for the last few years. She went nearly everywhere with me, the only real time I was away from her was when at work any other time she would be only a few feet away, sleeping under my desk while I was on the computer or with her head on my feet while watching television. I sometimes regret that I didn't take her to the vets and be with her at the end but I just couldn't do it The trouble with pets is you tend to outlive them. -
Joaquin I don't think it will be such a big deal converting or I wouldn't of offered Main changes I can see are .3dc to .3d file name extension change just a global search and replace. Allowing enough time for the player to travel to the required locations. Add any fixed startup parameters for the player if needed with the INIT_PLAYER, SET_CAREER, SET_CRAFT, SET_RANK, SET_REGION commands. Change CRUISE and INTERCEPT to NAVIGATE or JUMP if used I tend to use PLAYER rather than BC, CC, SC, FC i.e. !DETECT PLAYER rather than !detect bc but they each have there uses. depending on how complex / exotic you have made your scripts the may be a few more I've compared the original BC3K source with the BCM script and you'd be surprised how few changes have been made. The are 45 differences in tod 1 missions 1-5 46 differences in tod 2 missions 1-5 53 differences in tod 3 missions 1-5 and tod 4 has not been included in the BCM / G version the differences are mainly name related / file extension changes and not script / command changes.

Did you complete the mission or fail? If you failed it will be because you MUST wait for these signals from the STOLEN_SHUTTLE "Standby for Prime Force extraction. We're inbound" "Disable weapon systems. Its us!!" and the shuttle then MUST reach your BC This happens 10 minutes into the mission That's why I say be in LENNON before the start (or at the very latest 9 minutes into the mission) and wait by the jumpgate for the plot to unfold. You don't need to capture PIXAN it just gives you extra points, but is useful later on. Don't forget to destroy the ODS You will have completed this mission in the first 30 - 50 minutes giving you 55 - 65 minutes for any repairs and to travel to ORION for the start of the next mission Just for a further hint the preceding mission TOD2 M2/5 PROTECT ECV-STARBALL UNTIL RECOVERED takes 10 minutes to complete. Think about what you are ordered to do and what happens. You can then shortcut the mission You will now have around 60 minutes to get to LENNON I use the Flux-06 at Majora to jump to SYGAN I then capture SYGANSTAR and destroy the orbital defences The reason for this will become apparent in a later mission. If I still have plenty of time before the start of the Rolne mission I will also destroy the ODS in LENNON to save time later but this is not essential.

The answer is you must know where you need to be before the next mission starts. and you only know that once you've played them and learnt them. Then you can be there or very close in the time between missions you can often set off to the next start point before the last mission ends. One trick is to use 2 shuttles to tow your CC like this 1) Send Shuttle 1 ahead through the next jumpgate / wormhole 2) Use Shuttle 2 to tow the CC one jump to the destination. 3) Swap the shuttles round. 1) Send Shuttle 2 ahead through the next jumpgate / wormhole 2) Use Shuttle 1 to tow the CC one jump to the destination This saves the few seconds it takes the Shuttles engines to recharge while towing You could just issue the HALT commands to the Shuttle and CC and the give the Shuttle the command TOW NOTHING and wait for the engines to re-charge and then issue the tow command a gain but two shuttle method is just a little faster.

I was going to say use the search function but when I did the answered were a bit vague and I know you would reply "I'm French you know " So here's what to do ***** SPOILER AHEAD ***** Be in Lennon before the mission start time You need to identify the stolen_shuttle Just wait at the gate and target the shuttle and watch its orders Take out any hostiles that approach you Approximately 10 minutes in, after the message "Standby for Prime Force Extraction . We're inbound" the shuttle will head for the BC Turn the PTA off so as not to hit it as it contains Dr Myan Rolne and CMDR Karynia on board give the order to fly to the shuttle. When the hostages are onboard cloak and capture Pixan Now take out the ODS Proceed to ORION Centris/Alpha Centauri You'll soon have the REINGARD mission to do and I'm not helping on that as the are a few posts to read just search

Works fine here Both in normal roam and in a script I wrote to damage the CC and give me the spares needed for the repairs. Are you sure that the spare parts needed for the repairs are in the cargo bay and not in a shuttle or other storage ares? When docked at a Spacestation the chief Engineer of the Spacestation might not repair or replace damaged systems even if he has the spare parts on the Spacestation or you have the spare part in the cargo bay. He keeps them for his mates and not foolish Cmdr who get their CC shot up If he takes a dislike to you he wont even bother looking in your cargo bays for parts he does not have. Only thing to do then is buy the spare you need and launch then get your own Engineers to repair the system. Or try launching and re docking he might be in a better mood next time.

Joaquin If you're happy with any completed scripts I can always run them through the BCM and BCMG parser for you and create version for BCM and BCMG. The main differences are the ability to set initial rank / asset /race etc, the naming convention of the 3d files and the planet side mzone scripting. The 're a few additions / or modification to the instruction set / commands, I can't remember which if any have been dropped its a long time since I've used GBSI. Just a few changes I can remember off the top of my head the are probably many more. ACM_OFF QUIT / ACM_OFF CONTINUE NAVIGATE PLAYER_RACE RELOCATE RECOVER RECOVERED SET_CAREER SET_CRAFT SET_RANK SET_REGION
