LOL!! So, he's survived 2 hours.... How long do you think he'll last while on vacation? Hehe.... (RP) *shoves SC in car* "Now drive! No; just drive! Go to Disneyworld for all I care. And I said no! Nooooooooooo laptop for you! And I know you're not going to go buy one on the road, right? And if I see you on the forums before vacation's done, I'll beat the living s$*% out of you; unless it's an emergency! Yes, we really would all jump you if you did....." *SC drives off* "And have a Happy Holiday!" "So... He's gone. What do we do now?" "I have no frickin' clue." (/RP) Thinking of going anywhere special, SC? You can trust us here.... It's not like we're going to break anything... Nova, over and out.

I'm free on Wednesday after 2PM (Eastern), and free all day Thrusday. I might also be able to do it Friday.
-
Extremely insane...... I liked it.
-
Yeah, have a good time! And remember to leave the laptop at home..... Hehe, when he gets back he's probably going to have a heart attack... Either 'cause we're failing miserably, or because we're doing so well on the fan site.... Hopefully the latter. Nova, over and out.

LMAO!!! This one's pretty good!

I'm going to talk to a friend and see if we can move these forums over to another site of mine and his, even if just temporarily. I'll keep the ISS fleet informed so you can contact them if such a thing happens as I don't think I'll be able to set things up before monday. This will actually give us a place for everyone in a more organized fasion. Email: [email protected] AIM: Zathas80 ICQ: 16828279 (just add me, I've turned off anny msgs.) Yahoo: mostly_harmles Eihort, Over and out. My 2 cents once again. (Gotta get rid of these pennies somehow.) No need for that. Blades, DeSylva, aramike, and several others already have a new forum/fan site in the works. See the forum links I posted above.

Okay. Here we go.... The Orion Forums have opened up a "BC Forum Refugee Camp", and we're already planning our next moves from there. BCM Forum Refugees @ The Orion Forums The thread we're at for planning future stages of our community is her e. Blades and DeSylva are already hot on the subject.

We should keep our Pride.... Keep our level of civility. Keep our sanity. And let's keep our sense of humor, why don't we? I say good times are yet to come. We just have to wait. Nova, over and out.

Here. You guys now have your own forum at Orion, to keep this thing going. Like we said, keep the faith! Nova, over and out.

And check with the Orion Forums. Jeff's already registered there.

The other directors and myself will still be going with the setting up of Intercorp. If this board really closes, we will meet some out there. Keep the faith. Yes, you can register on our forums. We have an Insurgent forum there, as well, moderated by aramike, so we expect some diversity at our place. So, anyone can register at the Orion Forums. I'd like to see that happen, anyways. It's been a while since we've gotten outsiders. (Well, ISS has been in and out lately, but otherwise....) I'm trying to pick up the logistical pieces of the fleet and see how we'll work our stuff, but I can't actually do anything 'til morning, because GMAN's probably already asleep (it's almost 3 AM on the East Coast), and he might not be back until later.... At least we're still keeping the faith. Don't worry about that. Right now our worries are based around communications. And we're getting close to getting that fixed. 5 days after I got promoted to moderator. Hours after the celebration for the release of The Game. I lose one of my favorite peers, and the one person I truly looked up to, and the whole of the community gets thrown into chaos. I'm shocked... Beyond that, I don't have much else to say. I didn't think it'd end this way. Hm... But at least the fleet's still standing. Good luck to each and every one of you. The need for a Newbie Welcome Wagon is no more, and I'm off to find myself once again in real life. But I've got good memories of this place, and I'm sure to return. We had the most civilized site in all of the internet. And I enjoyed that. Too bad I wasn't around for much of the community's heyday. Good luck Blades. *salute* So, I'm still here..... Standing in the middle of the desert of this place..... I'm nowhere and everywhere. I'm tired but somehow I manage..... Now what to do.... Nova, over and out. Would a movie director like it if people asked him to put stuff into the movie, and/or change already existing pieces? Probably not.

So, I was away half the time. But I logged everything, til it was just me, and Cur (who was away) a few min ago. The log starts from 16:38 and ends at 22:08. Too bad I wasn't around when SC was there. Transcript Here (95.9k) I thought it ended nicely. Be sure to pick up my closing remarks near the end of the transcript. (the last line under 22:07) Nova, over and out. (EDIT: Orion FLeet RP Source is going some revisions. I just corrected the link. ) [ 01-22-2002: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]

Enhancement request: Missions for Roam
Cmdr Nova replied to Brian1's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
a) Actually, SC has plans to create a continuing online campaign with scenarios for the various fleets, races, and castes online. This may be a BCO thing, though. And yes, you still have the AI craft cruising the galaxy as well. PKing will be dealt with accordingly, by whatever guidelines are given by the fleet/organization of the player. Either way, this is a thinking game. If you're a trader, you'll probably be escorted by either a player or AI ship or two. b & c) Most of the people here, I didn't know until around 9 months ago. Now, it's all good... What I mean to say is, is that we're a community here, behind the players. Remember, you need to register the game to get in the forum now. You need to register the forum to get in the Fleet DB. You need to register in the Fleet DB to get on the Fleet DB servers (where most of the forum peeps will be doin our playin). So, our community is basically preserved into multiplayer. Our vets will still be here, and so will our newbies. Get to know everyone, and you'll know when you have to run for your life, and when you won't need to botehr. No need for worries. d) Your information is stored on the server. SC had the file save format changed in 1.0.02 RC5, to use ones that will be compatible later, with the multiplayer patch, and later patches. That way, your save files shouldn't go screwey on the single player end. You can't save multiplayer games, because only 3000AD servers are allowed to host (no player-hosted ones), and it's all already stored on the server. e) SC posted system specs around here somewhere...... 2 identical systems (I think 2?), and they were both pretty kick ass. Just trust my word for this one. As long as you've got 56k, you're good. In BCO it's planned to spread the game universe over multiple servers, to allow more players, and to decrease lag.... One or the other; or both... Well, since I'm starting to stray off topic... (A sign of me trying to stay up past 1 after a long week.....) Nova, over and out. -
Ouch. Your goddaughter. This has gotta be horrible for those closest to her.... My deepest thoughts, prayers, and regards go out to you and to your friends' family. Especially young Kathy. Good luck through these tough times. Nova, over and out. [ 12-15-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]

Okay, here's my shot at saying something sorta political here.... Um.... Okay, in my point of view, warez has been one of the major roles of jacked-up prices for software recently. Last time I checked, it was what--$129 US for MS Word 2002 Upgrade..... To me, it's a deadly combination between a weak market with small competition (*ahem* Microsoft vs. who else?), and the fact that warez is around that raises prices through the roof. But enough of *****ing about prices. I think that it's about time that someone started to pass and enforce stricter laws regarding copyrights and EULA's of software. I mean, warez is everywhere on the internet now. It's just like meth or dope--just for the crazed internet folk; the only problem is that no one seems to be fighting it with enough force, unlike drugs. quote:Originally posted by Wody: I am not against so called warez. Here, in The Netherlands, if you buy any software, doesn't matter if it costs $1 or $1M, you can not return it if you opened the box. Doesn't matter if the software wasn't even included, you got a scratched CD, game doesn't work, or, when something isn't or doesn't do what it is supposed to. So, that means you can not test any software to see if it suits your purpose, and so these warez can be used to see if something might be valuable enough to buy. Greetings, Wouter Dijkslag That doesn't make it any more legal. Even in the US, there are still problems with returing opened software some of the time. So would that give you the right to get a copy before you buy it? Let me put it this way: do you steal something from the store, just to see if it's all good with you? No. That's what fitting rooms for clothes, previews and commercials for movies/videos, and demos are for games. ---------- Remember that -pzy- guy who posted the nfo for BCM? Well, he sent me an e-mail right after he got banned, about "the scene"..... He sent me a link to a public FTP that's been "manipulated to hold illegal software" (in his words). All of this was being done under the noses of the admins. And yes, it worked; but I couldn't get in without a password to verify any further. Yes, you heard me. Public servers used to house warez and such. The FBI appears to have some work ahead of them. --------- So, I'm the goodie-goodie. Oooohhh.. *waves arms sarcastically* Yes, I'm young. I've got a lot to learn. But I've already seen both ends of this spectrum, and as of now, I'm way against this stuff. Hey, someday you just might see me as a person in an anti-internet crime group. But for now, I'm left up to standing on the sidelines of the internet battlefield, and pestering my senators and/or representatives to pass legislation on internet crime. This is where it begins. The beginning of what? Beats me. Probably the beginning of the end for internet crime. (I said the only the beginning, because I don't expect any progress on this for a long time......) Err... So this ends my first multi-paragraph political post...... Nova, over and out. *hides under a rock* [ 12-15-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
