Ok, Im guessing the rectal examinations are in preference to shutting up and being orderly .... so be it. Nurse! New orderlies in attendance ...
-
Dont make me come over there and give you two girls a spanking. I'll give you a one up neither of you will ever forget. Now, shake hands, have a quick group hug and then you can both buy me a drink. If I see either of you gobbing in my fruit punch, you'll spend the next TOD giving Insurgent prisoners rectal examinations or learning how to eat through a tube. Your choice.

Urghh! Get over it. Best news I heard in a year. You people have no idea how much damage they did to male/female relations since they started their Girl Power crusade.

Heh, difficult to have a war of words with a race that's main contribution to conversation is "Me crush, makeum big smush with boom boom!" Well, so far that is. Ok Gamm butt sniffers, make me tremble.

As the ranking officer here, I hereby order you all to shut your pie holes and quit this pointless and demoralizing discussion. We're all GalCom. We're all dedicated, proud officers. We're all in the same boat, fighting the same tide, doing our own thing for the protection of our homelands from those that would take them away. Prime is the workhorse of the fleet. It has it's fingers here, there and everywhere. Thats what it's good for. Thats what it does. ISS is recovering from poor numbers, but has the support of Orion in building up it's numbers again and development of sound tactical strategy. Wraith, as usual, keeps it's head down, quietly watching the world go by, stabbing at the hearts of our enemies when they least expect it. Orion .... well, we're big, we're properly organised and we are READY which is somthing that the rest of you, despite what you may believe, are not. We have the back door to Sol locked up good and tight from any potential Insurgent incursion. We have forward deployed Battle Groups within easy striking distance of aggressive assets that potentially pose a threat to AC security. We have Statstation Destiny on our doorstep marked for immediate capture or destruction. We have the manpower, the ships and the tactical upperhand to lay the smack down to any and all aggressors into our territory. If you dont believe us, feel free to participate in the inter-fleet wargames sessions I plan on organising as soon as the fleet servers go online. You want to see who's the daddy around here? Orion will show you. Now, enough bickering. It's time to pooh pooh the Insurgent's now.

Into The Fire Act Five - Operation Golgotha
Blades replied to Blades's topic in Role Playing Discussions
Ok, we're moving swiftly along now. I've been delayed from posting too much recently due to a variety of depressing reasons, but this weekend Im going to do my best to bring this girl back to life and get us in position for the main event. Here goes. [RP] Operation Golgotha T + 1 hour 27 minutes Earth, Mission Zone 13 Abandoned 23rd Century Mine Facility Savage hesitated at the mine entrance, looking over his PAD for any additional information regarding the interior of the mine from the data that Diamond had downloaded to him. Despite the fact that Savage trusted the old marine completely, he couldnt trust the intelligence data with the same confidence. Most of what Diamond had passed on to him was from his own internal scans and observations during his two day recee in the mission zone, but the details regarding the mines interior was, to say the least, a little patchy. Sure, he'd discovered the monitoring equipment inside, and had devised a way to circumvent it, but as to the complete layout, bottomless pits, poor lighting etc - there was next to nothing. A basic route was mapped out and seemed accesable enough, but Savage knew better than to trust anything on appearences alone. He didnt like it, was hesitant to take people inside. Still, there was little choice now, and time was running out. The distraction with the Earthcom patrol had cost them time, and time was the one thing they didnt have in abundance right now. Chaviks group were getting restless. They were perched in and around the mine entrance while Savage and the remainder of his team were gathered around sixty feet distant. They had been sitting there, waiting for the go ahead for at least five minutes now, and every once in a while, one or more of them would look back, or make an annoyed gesture towards the Fleet Commander suggesting that they wanted to press on. It was only after Diamond had returned to his former commanders side that he broke from examining the datapad and regarded the tough marine. "The boys are getting ansy, boss. They dont like being exposed like this. They want to move in and take cover within the mine before we run into any additional patrols." "Im aware of that Diamond." said Savage. "Im just not completely happy about whats up ahead." Diamond shrugged. "Nor me, but we come all this way now, and I dont think you'd entertain the idea of turning back now." Savage shook his head. "I think after Gallion and Chaviks escapades with the patrol, we're a little bit too commited to turn back." Diamond nodded and checked his chrono. "We're about thirty minutes away from hitting the barracks. If we're gonna keep on schedule, we have to hustle." Reluctantly, Savage had to agree with the old marine. He looked at his own chrono, and mentuallycalculated how long before the McKendrick would be back in position to recieve them. "Ok, get back up there and give them the go ahead to move in. You know the route, so you take the lead." "Got it." said Diamond. "It will take about ten minutes to reach the security control net, and about five minutes to bypass security and keep the barracks in the dark. A little before the control net I've stashed some additional equipment that we might find useful once we get inside, including that special order of yours." Savage's eyes both lit up, then became sad in the same instant. "Lets just hope I can still remember how to use it." Diamond smirked. "I dont think you ever really learned how to use it, boss. You just did. And did very, very well." Savage nodded, sadly. "Yeah. Get up there Diamond, move them out." With that, Diamond scuttled away and made the 60 foot dash upto the mine entrance and joined with Chaviks team. There was a brief discussion, then a hand signal from Nova indicating that they were moving out. A moment later, Chaviks entire team dissapeared into the mouth of the cave and vanished from sight. A few moments after that, Savage gave a signal of his own, and the troupe broke from cover and made way towards the darkness beyond. [RP] Chav, you and your team got the lead now. I intend to have us in position for the strike against the barracks by this evening. If people want to post - post fast. -
We've been quiet recently. There are a few reasons for this. First being, I've been rather busy of late with work, a few depressing personal issues and some other miscelanious things. We've allowed our more junior members to do their own thing with little or no supervision, discussed deployment in relaxed and informal means and even stopped our recruitment drive to allow the other fleets to do some catch up. Well, thats all at an end now. We're going back into full swing, which means it's time to pick up the slack ladies. To start, recruitment needs to start again. Nova is working hard on the BC Newbies Start Up Guide, and once he's finished with that I'll be assigning him to continue with the redevelopment of the Orion Commanders Handbook 2001 edition. He'll be working with several of you over the next few weeks. $ilk is to immediately restart his recruitment efforts. He's been good to the other fleets so far, but I think it's time to remind the vets and educate the newbies alike that Orion is where it's at and where they wanna be. Epsilon 5 is hereby promoted to acting Battle Group Commander of ISS's Destrier Wing and will serve in that capacity until ISS has both the numbers and an experienced commander to lead that wing independantly. As a result, he is no longer on staff as the Wraith Fleet Liaison Officer. A replacement for this duty (As well as assignments for liaisons to other fleets) will be posted shortly. The Fleet Website is nearing final completion and providing I.T.A.C.S tests are completed without incident over the next few days, expect the full site upgrade to be completed within the week. More to follow. Check here and at HQ frequently.

Ah, you yanks dont have beer. You have Gallions favorite tipple, lager. Then again, your lager is probably amongst the worst in the world. I've drunk Polish plonk that tastes better than Budweiser. Take it from me, you want a decent lager, stay away from the home brew and get yourself a decent German bier. I would recomend Becks. While Im at it, English beer is even more foul tasting than Budweiser, Guinness or any other stout in existance. Then again, considering the average English male cant tollerate spirits of any kind, it's safer to drink beer than anything else - unless you live in the south. If you live in the south, you're not allowed to drink beer. You have to drink lager. If you live in the south and drink lager, the northeners (Who only drink beer) will taunt you - calling you a southern shandy drinker. Sadly for the northeners, most of what they consider to be the best beer in the land is brewed in the south. Southeners get their own back by urinating in the beer vats and exporting the soddin lot to the north. End of the day, whatever you drink, it's diluted piss water. Unless you drink Guinness - and I dont even wanna think about getting started on that. Becks Bier Forever!

More likely a Deep One than a Klingon. Anyhoo, I suggest you read pretty much anything by H.P. Lovecraft (Call Of Cthulhu, Mountains Of Maddness are good examples) or play somthing like Shadow Of The Comet for a better understanding. It's basically a chant.

Jeez, and theres me thinking New Frontier was the dump.

Well, it's sunday for me now. Happy Birthday Epsilon 5! I recall spending my 18th birthday getting horrendously drunk and miming to Queens 'I want To Break Free' while shoving a vacume cleaner head around my house with a friend of mine recording it on video tape. Needless to say, a bootleg copy of that video made the rounds at several UK Universities for the next 8 years, and is somthing of an urban legend around these here parts. My advice to you - Dont get drunk anywhere where people with video cameras are at.

I used Kazaa (Spyware) to grab an .avi version of it. The pilot I got was somthing like 50 megs in size, but it's pretty much unwatchable. For episode three, I dialed up one morning and let the download run while I was at work. By the time I got home (Somthing like nine hours and a bit later) the 220 meg download in watchable 320 x 200 was waiting for me. If you use Kazaa (Which, btw, is simply amazing as far as peer to peer network sharing goes) do a search on Enterprise and you'll find it no problem. You can download kazaa at www.kazaa.com Oh yeah, and hentai is popular too
-
Well, now I've gone and done it. Recently downloaded Ep 1 and 2 of the pilot as well as Ep 3 'Fight or flight' and all I can say is .... not bad. Not great yet, but not bad. I still cant work out what the deal is with the Vulcan chick sponge bath scene, not to mention the dire intro theme, but over all I think it's a pretty good effort. Not impressed with 400 meg downloads on my ISDN line ... but at least I can pass the time waiting at work ...

quote: You hide, behind PRIME FLEET! *Ahem* What Prime Fleet?
-
... and besides, everyone knows Orion is the dominant military organisation in the game. But you knew that even before you went away ...
-
quote: 4) Call of Chtulhu *OMG, it's the game that actually uses THE formula. The one and same formula that I and my friends would jsut lounge around and discuss... the formula for the PERFECT Horror Game. I submitted a preview to EB Games a few days ago, but they butchered the game's title pretty badly. It was something like "Call of Catluhulu." It's Cthulhu. Now try to pronounce it correctly.

Happy birthday dude. Enjoy the day, then prepare yourself for a right royal Orion kick in the ass.

Fleet Recruitment Reorganization Proposal
Blades replied to aramike's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
Well, you've just described the current method. Am I missing somthing here? -
Dark and grim. Just the way I like it. Keep it commin!
-
Yup, Intercorp certainly a better effort than a lot of the newbie alliances that have nearly sprung up around here. And that reminds me, Im still waiting for Riga to present me with details regarding having an Intercorp branch opened at Orion. Time is money people, chop chop!
-
Heh, you'll impress me when you've got 30 active Intercorp commanders.
-
Reminds me of my bar days. You dont have to do any work if you bring the women to the bar.

Fleet Recruitment Reorganization Proposal
Blades replied to aramike's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
Sorry Mike, but from where Im reading what you proposed sound an awful lot like pooling existing fleet members from all alliance fleets and assigning them evenly. It doesnt suggest anything else to me at all. Maybe Im missing somthing here. If I am, im available on ICQ so you can educate my misinformed ass. And yes, I understand it was only a proposal, not letter of law. Im not angry, so no need to calm down. Im not completely against the idea of pooling new recruits into a pool and dividing them up where they are needed, but who would get to make this descision, and would they have the right to do so? All the fleets have their own distinct reasons for being - reasons why people are attracted to them. Take the right to choose your assignment away from people, and you're limiting their potential if you ask me. No, leave things as they are. Let the fleets manage their own recruitment. If numbers are low and people are not interested in joining a particular fleet, then it's up to the existing fleet members themselves to make their organisations more attractive to newbies. Help and advice can be offered and given. Sure, each fleet would prefer to bolster it's members with it's own propaganda - but thats the nature of the fleets. Always has been. BCM is here. Derek has built it. They will come. Purge the database of dead commanders. Leave the living where they are. Encourage the leaders to improve their recruitment efforts. Dont force a change on things. No good will come of it.
