  1. My rp should be up sometime tonight.
  2. quote: Anyone up for an e-mail campaign? Now there's an idea... I haven't read the review yet, so I can't really comment on most of it, but when I do...
  3. The "some other activity" means uniform fittings, general meetings, and music checking. It's different everyday.
  4. I don't recall there ever being light crusiers in Battlecrusier. For what it's worth, you could say the supercrusier is like a heavy crusier, and the heavy crusier is like a light crusier.
  5. Since this is my first rp post ever, it might be a while, but I'll get it up as soon as I can. As for a command craft, I know I'm in a super crusier, just not sure which one. Until I know for sure, I'll assume an Aestrom. Concerning my rank/postion, I'm the unofficial wing leader of Pegasus, being the only commander there! (I can lead myself. Wow.) ISS is still being restructured, so my final postion is still pending.
  6. Well, it says "Super Carrier" next to my name in the website, so a Firestorm isn't that unlikely. In fact, it looks like I'm my own wing leader.
  7. Sounds interesting. My commission to a Super Carrier (probably a Firestorm) would fit in nicely. I haven't RPd yet, but I'm ready to give it a try.
  8. OK, we'll put him under a rest, meaning me resting! Though someone else would probably work better, as I'm not very heavy.
  9. I think the monthly fee is $10, but I'm not sure.
  10. quote: one time at band camp I was there this summer, and believe me, it's not all it's craked up to be. To clarify, here's a typical day of band camp. 6:00 AM Wake up 7:00 Arrive at breakfast 8:00 Morning outdoor rehearsal starts 11:00 Moring outdoor rehearsal ends; lunch 1:00 PM Indoor sectional 2:00 Indoor full music rehearsal starts 4:30 Indoor full music rehearsal ends; dinner 6:00 Evening outdoor rehearsal starts 8:00 Evening outdoor rehearsal ends 8:30 Some other kind of activity 10:00 Get back to my room 11:00 Go to bed As you can see, there isn't much time for fooling around. It isn't that bad, as it's only a week.
  11. I wish I had a pewter d20... Maybe I'd get more critical hits with it.
  12. Ah, some people just don't get it. If people could focus on the game and not SC's reputation (sorry if I sound insulting, I don't feel that way) they would be better for it. I stood by Battlecrusier because I loved the series, despite it's previous instability. I could care less about what some people believe about it's creator's reputation (sorry again). I commend you, SC, for sticking with it and creating something truly wonderful. [ 10-17-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]
  13. Not bad. Though Episode I was decent, it didn't live up to the standards set by the other three.
  14. Oh, I think I get the joke.
  15. Understood. Also, I was reading the first person items in the appendix when I saw this in the explanation of armor. quote: PROVIDES PROTECTION FROM WEAPONS FIRE BUT NOT FROM HEAD SHOTS OR FALL INDUCED INJURIES. Earlier, I asked (about a month ago) if there was hit detection in BCM, and you said no, but this quote seems to disagree. Did hit detection get back in or is this quote from the appendix inacurate? (sorry for asking the same question twice)
  16. Yeah, congrats. No surprises here.
  17. You mean those funky red and blue glasses? On the computer? Cool!
  18. I thought of these questions looking at the screenshots you posted earlier. 1. Was there a specific reason why the planetary teleporter thing (I forget what it's called) isn't enabled in single player? It seems a little limiting in what you can do with the marine career. 2. If you start in a hostile base as a marine, how do you get more ammo and equipment, assuming you can't use their supply station? (if you can, just say so) 3. In general, how much does your armor help you? In other words, how many shots can you take on average, with an average gun and average armor before croaking? (sorry if I'm being too general here, but are we talking Counterstrike(head shots are lethal) or Duke Nukem(not even God can take that much damage and still be alive)) 4. How many marines can you expect to find in an average base? Do they respawn? 5. If you can't see anything at night, aren't these bases lit up? These questions ought to hold me for a few days.
  19. Here's one for you! (sorry if it's too long) quote: It seems that before I launch into this letter, I should tell you that one can predict on empirical grounds that quicker than you can double-check the spelling of "anthropomorphization" Mr. Shirley A. Jackass will generate alienation and withdrawal. Let us note first of all that we must find more constructive contexts in which to work toward resolving conflicts in such as way that there is nothing he can do about it except learn to live with the fait accompli. But you knew that already. So let me add that he says that he would sooner give up money, fame, power, and happiness than perform an odious act. What he means by this, of course, is that he wants free reign to play the blame game. Several things he has said have brought me to the boiling point. The statement of his that made the strongest impression on me, however, was something to the effect of how he defends the real needs of the working class. Too many emotions to count raced through my mind when I first realized that Shirley maintains that black is white and night is day. Perhaps it would be best for him to awaken from his delusional narcoleptic fantasyland and observe that his reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth, but only benighted answers, cuckoo resolutions to conflicts. My next point of order is that if I said that the Queen of England heads up the international drug cartel, I'd be a liar. But I'd be being thoroughly honest if I said that Shirley's catch-phrases have kept us separated for too long from the love, contributions, and challenges of our brothers and sisters in this wonderful adventure we share together -- life! Shirley likes to imply that the Earth is flat. This is what his treatises amount to, although, of course, they're daubed over with the viscid slobber of supercilious drivel devised by his apple-polishers and mindlessly multiplied by vile crooks. The objection may still be raised that university professors must conform their theses and conclusions to his judgemental prejudices if they want to publish papers and advance their careers. At first glance, this sounds almost believable. Yet the following must be borne in mind: We should agree on definitions before saying anything further about his shallow convictions. For starters, let's say that "expansionism" is "that which makes Shirley yearn to demand that Earth submit to the dominion of the worst types of prissy, simple-minded calumniators there are." Help me build a world overflowing with compassion and tolerance. Join your hands with mine in this, the greatest cause of our time.
  20. quote: No, you can't take weapons from killed enemies, all of them are vaporized after killing and disappear with their gear. I apologize if I sound redundant here, but you can't even pick up ammo? And that brings me to another question. In the marine career, how do you get equipment? Is it just given to you at the start of your career? If so, how do you replenish your ammo supply?
  21. To some degree, I agree with Unknown_Enemy that newbies are very important to getting some fresh blood around here, and if we neglect them, they won't come. However, that's what the demo is for, and we should keep the demo forum open to the public as well, and let people who don't own the game yet to partially register so they can post in the demo and general discussion forums. After they buy the game, they can enter their key and be given access to the rest of the boards. But I think SC already has all this figured out and I've already voiced my opinon, so whatever he has planned is all right with me.
  22. Urza sticks his head out from behind a bush to avoid getting hit in the crossfire Heh, I'm not touching this with a 5 foot stick. Urza quickly returns to his hiding spot in the bush
  23. quote: I don't even like being in public, let alone hanging out at a theatre. Hmm, did anyone notice you? I wouldn't blame you, given what you've had to put up with electronicly. I'd hate thinking about what would happen if Shirley saw you in the theater...
  24. I already posted this in the "everyting you wanted to ask" thread, but I think what I said there about BCM's review is appropriate here. I evaluated all the LOWS BCM recieved. quote: No multiplay yet Key word: YET quote: only one structured campaign Wait'll we get our hands on GBSII! quote: uninspiring graphics I don't think so. Those screenshots look pretty cool! quote: steep learning curve I think there's training missions. (correct me if I'm wrong) And there's an exaustive manual, in printed and electronic form. Personally, I think BCM got shortchanged.
  25. My EB also showed an oversized BCM box, but I don't see it anymore...
