  1. Ok, according to semantics a bad trader is one which prefers losses over profits. You win, Riga. Don't think he would be that dumb.
  2. Nobody said indie life was easy.
  3. Yeah, but that's only if you guys are lucky enough to get one.
  4. You don't have a reputation with me. Please elaborate on how bad I should consider it. What makes you a bad trader?
  5. LOL
  6. quote:... but where will Intercorp get there initial funds? as we're all newbies in BCM: MP and GCO. IOU's anyone Simple, don't do it yet. Investing in 3rd parties is not wise if you're just starting your business. Same as the organisation thread, Jef. Ya got to keep your business afloat pal. Too risky. And Perhaps there can be a (one) Time Limited IOSC. (Intercorp owes SC)
  7. Yes, I noticed you're not really a newby after I posted. But it's more in general. Not you personally.
  8. Then you have not read this FAQ, maestro.
  9. I don't know why your backhairs are getting up. Gallion gave a pointer to your problem, which you referenced to yourself. (a bit dumb IMO, but I'm like that all the time) And then later I tried to creatively point out that it was not about you but the (quite possibly) cloaked enemy vessel. If your experience is that it was not cloaked but you got it anyway, then bad initial insight from a vet (unlikely, as Gallion probably knows the script), but we're all happy in the end, right? BTW Why are you 'trying to like the game', when you have allready ordered. Not so wise action I'd say. Please make me understand why you did that. Also read Elenkis post. There are a million things that can be the reason for the delay. (well, ok, maybe a bit of an exageration) The ship doesn't get there at once you know. Has some distance to travel(and hyperjump takes a fair amount of time) It's not you average space shooter magically-Poofff-"There they are". (perhaps in this instance, but I don't know that script, or have played it in a while)
  10. Guys! Don't just offer every new comming newby a director seat. Don't you think they should need to know a bit about the universe before they have a considerable influence on it? Look at the fleets, we're not popping every new member in the fleet staff. Those that are in are long standing members. I just like were I'm at. (at the moment) And think that we needed people at the bottom too.
  11. quote:nvidia 32MB Geforce2 MX W/TVOUT Read the FAQ/VCF. There was an issue with z-buffer or something for Ep #1, which needed a setting to be disabled. [ 10-14-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  12. quote:Originally posted by actrade: No, I'm not cloaked. ...Enemy craft: "Nope! Indeed. We can see that. But can you say that about us too?" [ 10-14-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  13. Actually, Papi, you guys are running the fleet and wings. You shouldn't even have time to worry about your own ship and crew. You guys got desk jobs. quote:I've took out many MK2s and MK3s with a S24 RAVEN.Yeah right. Which? GCV-Sitting Duck? Or the ICV-Dummy Bunnie? Whoa!, does that sound insubordinate or what? Ah well, not my COs.
  14. I know I'm just a puny squadron commander, but BCM fleet-life is about more than just getting a BCmk3 or not. I'm all for balanced asset assigment. But isn't it more appropriate to talk in terms Super Carriers, Heavy Carriers, Super Cruisers, Heavy cruisers and the like? And I was just wondering why the change of policy _now_.
  15. Commodity at dictionary.com : #1 ... couldn't have said it better myself. Left handed. Though, not that I'm much of a baseball player. quote:Before we can start any serious talk I first want to see some concrete conclusions in the Economics 101 thread. Based on that negotiatoins can begin with Orion, Wraith and Prime (no no particular order ) I will start that shortly. Got a bit preoccupied with the RP.Sure, just so long you know there's plenty of room on the stations we hold. And most of them well behind friendly lines. 16. quote:At the moment, I use the following rule of thumb for Assets: Fleet Staff personnel, and Wing Leaders: Battlecruiser MK3. Everyone else: Battlecruiser MK2, or other asset, if asked for. I know I'm not to question the decisions of my superiors, but why the change of (stricter) policy?
  17. Ehm, a thought just popped up in my head ... (to the elders/vets) Wasn't there an issue once about selecting a specific player slot, causing problems or something. Or was that just a 'wild goose'? I'm sorry, I can't remember anything else about it. Just a notion of it's existence. Can anybody remember?
  18. I don't know how far your negotiations with Wraith and Orion are comming along, but I have been assigned as Primefleet contactperson towards commercial indie organisations. Meaning that if you are interested, we can initiate exploratory talks about acces to Prime's stations and/or usage of our public communication channels (www.primefleet.com). If Intercorp is interrested, open commlink channel to [email protected]. BTW, you would think Intercorp has a email adress public for interested clients. But I have yet to find it on the homepage. (nudge, nudge)
  19. First, this game is officially unsupported. It's as-is. But for what it's worth, I'll try to help you out. Second, to help solve you problem, have you investigated the FAQ for suggestions? Most problem can be helped by sniffing in there. When asking for help it's usually important to tell what version have. v2.09 is the latest version of bc3k. Have you got a previous version, or the freeware one (v2.09) from a download site? Make sure nothing went wrong during install. Sometimes a problem is due to a hickup of your system. Can you reproducew it with a second install?

  21. Thomas! Be advised that Hugo Pinheiro is back.
  22. Yay!!! Someone to play with! Welcome back Hugo.

  24. Good question, it's 10th Oct. 14:45 GMT here. Should be the 10th in Florida too by now. Morning, but still. Anyway, my question. You said: quote:the fleet leader of a trader corp, can have access to that station as if it were as ship.Would this be for a (trader) corp only, or will a military station (or other castes) provide the same functionality? I ask this since military commanders are not allowed/supposed to trade as such. Is this the exception to the rule? Or are they only allowed to handle tactical things.
  25. That, but also that you need to be Supreme Commander yourself, or have "Karl Reines" on board. "SC Karl Reines" is just a dumb tour[WHACK!!] ..err intelligent respected guest. (ouch) [ 10-10-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
