  1. My type of game. However why so few flyable NATO aircraft? I'd love to be a Falcon driver.
  2. As One of the respondents said, thats why they call it WAR! Once a target has been designated hostile the crew in ANY asset will act and act swiftly. They do not have the luxury of hindsight. They do not choose to go and engage the enemy, it is thier DUTY to do so. This is why a lot of our professional soldiers are less apt to jump into a war than the fatcat politicians that send them in. They know what our weapons can do to a human body, but once engaged they will do thier jobs. On a side note that is precisely why I laugh, when I hear the militia types who horde hunting rifles and semi automatics to "protect" themselves from our gov't. If they saw half the shit I 've seen in advanced NBC training they'd trade those small arms in for a deal on a good cemetary plot.
  3. I don't know but anybody disliked and trashed as much as you SC must be a cool MF'er
  4. I think it is that same hawk that steals the Budweiser on the TV commercials. He looks suspicious to me...something around the eyes.
  5. I get the sense That a lot of you guys are going to miss a really, really good movie cause nothing blows up, (cept for Red's leg). There are things that occur in this movie I was sure was just creative liscence ie..made for the movies , but after seeing the PBS special I found it was all true. Please do yourself a favor and go see this movie.
  6. All in good fun SC. You have my utmost respect as I'm sure you know. I just wanted to show you I'm not action film averse, just bad movie averse. I'm on my way to see T3 now! Cheerio old chap!
  7. Finally saw it and it was worth the wait. Good action movie deftly directed and just slightly over the top. Great explosions, car chases and it met my number one action movie criteria, I didn't look at my watch one time during the movie. So take that Mr. Smarty Pants! 8.5/10
  8. Proof that wrestling kills brain cells. Too many falls off the old turnbuckle.
  9. Why SC you are just an ole softy!
  10. I guess if you were born with a mouse in your hand , yes PC's are a panacea. However there are those of us who don't have hours to fiddle around with graphics fixes, patches ,etc..I love PC games but even with the help of my good friends in this community, even after buying a new rig JUST to play games on, and hours of dial-up downloads, there are still some games I can't play. Recently I bought GTA:VC and rushed home to try it. The game crashed at the same point in the game everytime. Aware of my own PC shortcomings, I went to the Rockstar VC forums and found that a few other people had the same problem. I followed the advice of ,amping dowm the screen resolution, not loading the radio station, all types of suggestions. I down loaded updated drivers, nothing worked.About a week after the initial release date Rockstar released a patch to fix the graphical errors. Downloaded and applied and no dice. Finally I called on the trusty Grayfox, who knows a little about PC's alas he too bought a copy that wouldnt even boot up. He was fortunate to live somewhere he could return the game. In Pennsylvania no PC game can be returned after it is opened. I'm out fifty bucks. I recently sold it to a friend who had no problem running it on his rig. Of course he is our IT specialist at work and was born with a mouse in his hand. My meandering point is that when all runs smooth on a PC game aint nothin better. But when there are problems its no fun to me. I'd rather play a game than curse at my PC for hours-days. I know some will suggest get smarter learn more about your rig! I say great! I'll fit it into my job, my wife and daughter, grad school and my volunteer work. Not really. I have finite time to recreate and I limit to games that actually work. Not every developer is attunded to the people that by thier products as SC is. And I don't have time for a science lesson.
  11. As usual you are right oh wise one,the hologram, uh..thing.
  12. Well Fiver to answer your question, since each object of addiction is different, the approach has to be tweaked to fit it. But more or less, the approach would still follow a Cognitive-Behavioral treatment modality(at least if I was doing it)since it deals with challenging the thoughts that drive the addiction and then attacking the behavior. Since a lot of addiction counseling is group based, a "gamers only" approach is needed since we dont want them in with alcoholics and cocaine addicts, as they have little in common with them. I hope that answers your question.
  13. Kiran you poor boy, watch out you don't get sent to see the Duke. Someone has severely neglected your education. here's a short list for you... Escape from LA.. Kurt Russell Assault on Precinct 13...John Carpenter's first film I Come In Peace....the definitive Dolph Lundgren. ...and please see Escape From New York before it's too late. Lastly I wonder if they'll let us fly one of those high tech gliders in the game?
  14. Addictive personalities will always seek out some outlet to manifest itself in the people who suffer with them. I have been to a seminar on gaming addiction and frankly I feel it will be more widely accepted and treatment for it will be somewhat common. Since addiction treatment is my profession I can safely say the things people become addicted to do not cause the addiction. There is a segment of the population that will always be vulnerable no matter what. Now having said that I once played Halo for 10 hrs straight.
  15. Ditto SC I agree totally. See what having a good action director like Jan De Bont can do for a film? Imagine how much ass it would have sucked if McG directed it?
  16. Why dodge em' in DeathRace 2000 that's an easy score. And the main reason we don't have ABS on every car..corporate greed. You have to pay to be safe. Year in year out the safest cars are the ones most people can't afford.
  17. quote:...Bill Lumberg from Office Space. BRILLIANT! Sebbish you nailed it. This guy is a real life villian of the worst sort. I had a boss like him once who gave me a disciplinary action in my personnel folder for wearing a blue shirt in violation of the the office dress code. "..light colored shirt and tie with jacket" one of the main reasons I work for a non-profit!!!
  18. F##king Ford Fairlane! Brilliant! Wasn't that chick from Lois and Clark in there? She was hottt! Excellent choice! How about another James Spader flick? Supernova sucked superass, yet I still watch it when it comes on. I need medication.
  19. Here is a novel approach. Lets watch it BEFORE we trash it. I've taken some heat for trashing shit I havent seen yet and MAYBE deservedly so. At least I saw trailers, interviews, and in the case of Charlies Angels2 (officially a bomb) saw the first movie. But we are trashing something that NO ONE has saw one minute of. Watch it first!
  20. Hans Gruber in Die Hard. Hands down the best villian in years! Charles Rayne in Passenger 57 Any Darth Vader votes out there? Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York. Dr Emile Lazzaro in Buckaroo Banzai oh yeah and the guy who plays Red on that 70's show when he was in Robocop.
  21. Paddy didnt one of the characters wear a cowboy hat?
  22. Believe it or not acclaimed director John Sayles, who is a personal favorite and directed Matewan and Eight Men Out, is responsible for the screenplay to Battle Beyond the Stars. Everybody's gotta start somewhere!
  23. quote: >>Then why the frownie? See release date July 2004...damn that's along wait.
  24. I can hardly wait for this one. Who is that playing Doc Ock?
