1. This is the last patch which will be released for UC. It is currently being uploaded to mirror servers and should be widely available by tomorrow. Check the downloads page. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You HAVE been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to users going from the base 2.00.00 patch to the current 2.00.xx patch; this patch WILL delete ALL saved games. So, if you are upgrading from 2.00.19 or higher, backup the files in the SAVE folder before applying the patch. After applying the patch, copy them back to the SAVE folder. If you attempt to do this with any saved game version earlier than the specified version, good luck bud. If you run an mp server, you should also backup your UCSETUPMP.INI file and restore it after patching. The same applies to your UCCONFIG.INI file. The patch deletes it as well. This patch contains a DirectX 9.0c runtime update (they're not calling it 9.0d for some reason) which Microsoft has released. Since some folks are not reading the VCF, let me point out that you MUST install this update by running the DXSETUP.EXE file located in the new DIRECTX folder where the game is installed. This was included as of the 2.00.30RC15 patch. So if you already did this, you don't need to do it again.
2. You're joking right? The answer is NO. And in the future, please send email to us directly for stuff like this.
3. OK, I was going to rename this thread, but I decided to create a new topic instead, so that we can keep this thread for any other reproducible CTD issues.
4. I have reproduced (after much hacking and slashing) a CTD issue using Chavis saved game from this thread It is related to when AG (Auto-Generation) is fired and additional intruders need to be beamed over to the CC. i.e. AG ships usually send more than one wave of intruders in each [intruder send] pass. The reason this CTD was random is because the instances under which intruders are transported and indeed the number of intruder passes to do, are both random. So, it is very difficult to reproduce. This is a CAT1 bug (since AG is a critical component of ROAM scenario) so I am currently working on rolling out a patch within the hour to send to the testers. It should be released to the public by tomorrow. Until then, use the standard non-AG Roam scenario. [ 09-06-2005, 08:07 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
5. Its not a driver issue. I've just reproduced it using his saved game. I loaded it on an AMD machine, wrote a script to keep loading and unloading the saved game (unattended) until it crashed. It crashed about 2 mins ago and it seems to be related to auto-generation and intruders being beamed abord the craft. I'm on it. Expect a patch shortly, since this is a serious issue. In the meantime, use the ROAM scenario without AG.
6. OK, so it is random then. Oh well, can't help with that, since I have no idea how to solve that. If it is unique to AMD processors, then you're all screwed (for now) I guess. Let me ponder on this for a bit.
7. What is the date & time of the setup.exe on the CD-ROM?
8. What do you think? You should be tied to the back of shuttle and dragged across a planet for asking me such a stupid question. Do I come across as a time waster to you? And someone who doesn't check something thoroughly? WHY else do you think we're so stringent around here about people having ACCURATE info in their sigs?
9. A SAD STATE OF CORRUPT LOCAL GOVERNMENT LOOKING FOR A HAND OUT Politics over duty This is a post from a fellow over in Merritt Is, FL, a reporter who's been researching what went on before the storm hit I think all of Nagin's pomp and posturing is going to bite him hard in the near future as the lies and distortions of his interviews are coming to light. On Friday night before the storm hit Max Mayfield of the National Hurricane Center took the unprecedented action of calling Nagin and Blanco personally to plead with them to begin MANDATORY evacuation of New Orleans and they said they'd take it under consideration. This was after the NOAA buoy 240 miles south had recorded 68' waves before it was destroyed. President Bush spent Friday afternoon and evening in meetings with his advisors and administrators drafting all of the paperwork required for a state to request federal assistance (and not be in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act or having to enact the Insurgency Act). Just before midnight Friday evening the President called Governor Blanco and pleaded with her to sign the request papers so the federal government and the military could legally begin mobilization and call up. He was told that they didn't think it necessary for the federal government to be involved yet. After the President's final call to the governor she held meetings with her staff to discuss the political ramifications of bringing federal forces. It was decided that if they allowed federal assistance it would make it look as if they had failed so it was agreed upon that the feds would not be invited in. Saturday before the storm hit the President again called Blanco and Nagin requesting they please sign the papers requesting federal assistance , that they declare the state an emergency area, and begin mandatory evacuation. After a personal plea from the President, Mayor Nagin agreed to order an evacuation, but it would not be a full mandatory evacuation, and the governor still refused to sign the papers requesting and authorizing federal action. In frustration the President declared the area a national disaster area before the state of Louisiana did so he could legally begin some advanced preparations. Rumor has it that the President's legal advisers were looking into the ramifications of using the insurgency act to bypass the Constitutional requirement that a state request federal aid before the federal government can move into state with troops - but that had not been done since 1906 and the Constitutionality of it was called into question to use before the disaster. Throw in that over half the federal aid of the past decade to New Orleans for levee construction, maintenance, and repair was diverted to fund a marina and support the gambling ships. Toss in the investigation that will look into why the emergency preparedness plan submitted to the federal government for funding and published on the city's website was never implemented and in fact may have been bogus for the purpose of gaining additional federal funding as we now learn that the organizations identified in the plan were never contacted or coordinating into any planning - though the document implies that they were. The suffering people of New Orleans need to be asking some hard questions as do we all, but they better start with why Blanco refused to even sign the multi-state mutual aid pack activation documents until Wednesday which further delayed the legal deployment of National Guard from adjoining states. Or maybe ask why Nagin keeps harping that the President should have commandeered 500 Greyhound busses to help him when according to his own emergency plan and documents he claimed to have over 500 busses at his disposal to use between the local school busses and the city transportation busses - but he never raised a finger to prepare them or activate them. This is a sad time for all of us to see that a major city has all but been destroyed and thousands of people have died with hundreds of thousands more suffering, but it's certainly not a time for people to be pointing fingers and trying to find a bigger dog to blame for local corruption and incompetence. Pray to God for the survivors that they can start their lives anew as fast as possible and we learn from all the mistakes to avoid them in the future.
10. ....and this is exactly how Coke machine rumors start. I wonder if Steve is going to start having stalkers the world over go after him. People can just write and say any shit they like; until someone picks up the ball and runs off with it.
11. So, uhm, you've seen it then? If so, why no score?
12. OK, just got this from David, after I pointed him to this thread. quote: "We're sorry for the inconvience. Please email your Order ID (Found on the invoice with the package) to *[email protected]* and we can ship another CD to you. If your shipping address was different from your "Bill To" address, please include that as well." Thanks David BMT

This may happen 2 times in a row,or not may happen for several tries. Sending to [email protected] using the requested protocol. I tried your saved game ten times on four different machines and never had a crash. Unless someone else can download that file and corroborate your findings, I am going to close this issue.
14. He doesn't need the whole CD. All needs to do is copy the setup.exe from the CD-ROM to the HDD and try that. You may have a bad disc. If that is the case, contact BMT Micro for a replacement. If you have broadband and can wait a few days, you will be able to download it from BMT Micro. quote: Originally posted by Chavis: Mine is 641 MB (673,122,686 bytes). Yeah, thats the size of the original 1.00.01 release. 15. I LOVED this movie. Evenly paced. Excellent act. Brilliant story. Nice twists. If you're in the mood for a good thriller, just go see it. Most parts WILL keep you guessing. 10/10
16. While waiting for the next showing of Transporter 2, I decided to see this one. It was pretty OK; though they left out a major plot hole related to why the butterfly caused those changes. Stupid Hollywood. If you like sci-fi and can wrap your head around a convoluted time travel shindig, this is worth watching. It is evenly paced and doesn't have any boring parts. My score is low because it played like a Saturday night movie on the sci-fi channel. e.g. given the scope of the catastrophe that the movie was to depict, there was no such conveyance in the movie. No screaming crowds of people asking wtf was going on etc. Nothing. Instead, it was isolated and restricted to a few key players and some background crowds. Pretty shoddy I thought; given the scope of the sets, special FX etc. 7/10
17. It was pretty good; though I think I liked the first one better. One think that irks me is that I was looking forward to a more challenging final fight with the lead bad guy. That didn't happen. Considering that it took in $20m and broke a record over the weekend, we can look forward to a third movie I think. 8/10 [ 09-06-2005, 07:10 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
18. Thats the question posted in a Tom's Hardware editorial
19. Another one bites the dust
20. Well, I must say that after doing a little research into PayPal's business practices, I'm not going to venture dealing with them. I'm definitely going to be making more than $5K per month and it is highly unlikely that I'm going to let them sit on my funds as long as they bloody well feel like. Scary stuff!!

22. Yeah, thats one of the items that were tweaked actually; and it works with both turrets and guns.
23. Thats interesting. Lets take this to email please. Just cut and paste your entire post above and send to me at [email protected] and lets go from there.
