Oh, I wanted to mention that the next spat of patches after 2.00.14 (a major update to NPC character AI), will focus primarily on the multiplayer fixes. The single player fixes have precedence due to the fact that more people play sp than mp.

I saw this yesterday right after Hero. If you like a good formulaic thriller and you like Ben Kingsley, go see it. I liked it a lot. Oh, just ignore everything Scriv wrote. 9/10

I went to see it again; and I was pleasantly enthralled again at the big screen presentation, featuring thundering soundfx. Once again, the story, the characters, the CG (check out those arrows!!!) - everything - was just right. This movie is a masterpiece and I intend on seeing it - again - before it finishes its run. 10/10 ps: Hellbinder, haven't you learn to read Scriv's reviews by now, then go "....meh" and move on? If not, try it. Your blood pressure will thank you.

Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You have been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. The zip file contains the MD5 hash file. You can use a program such as WinMD5 to compare this hash against the file you downloaded. To check the download's MD5 hash, do the following: download the patch and extract the contents into the game install folder. Run winMD5 (or similar program) Go to File/Open MD5 file and load the patch MD5 file located in the game install folder. Go to File/Open File and load the patch file you downloaded above. If winMD5 reports the status as good, then your patch downloaded correctly and can be used to patch the game.

I already have and saw this on DVD (import purchased through Amazon). Can't wait to see it on the big screen...probably later today.

CTD when attempting to make planetfall.

Sounds like drivers or a bad patch install to me. You might want to read the section in the FAQ about uninstalling the game and starting from scratch with a patch. If the patches are installed incorrectly, all kinds of things will go wrong. Despite the warning in the files download page, the VCF, then FAQ, on this site etc, it is simply amazing to me that some people still DON'T do it right. Then when they do it, they're amazed that it actually works. heh. -
I have no problems with SP2; I only posted that for the same purpose that I post on the site.

You are creating WAY TOO MANY threads on this forum, most of them saying the same thing. Please stop. Thanks. Please don't post again until you have read the manual, read the manual addendum, done the tutorial and gone through the appendix. If you post again - within the next two days - your posting rights will be revoked on the site. You have your orders; now go carry them out.

CTD when Shuttles or intercepters dock

I got my $20 worth of entertainment out of it. Greg Now would be a good time to actually read the FAQ in the section where it describes how to scrub your install and start from scratch. -
How do I recover my computer if the install of Windows XP SP2 failed, and left my computer unbootable?

This is an example of what happens when you piss around with what works. Iwar2 failed at retail. Particle Systems almost went under (well, they did) if it wasn't for them being bought out by another publisher (also a shakey one at that).

I have fixed his sig and deleted several off-topic (sig related) posts in his other thread. -
quote: Originally posted by Omega: Ok, this is a solution that I came up with after being told that you have to run the patch from within the folder which contains the .exe. 1)Uninstall UC from the Control Panel, you can make backups of your saved games if you wish 2)Delete your ÔÇ£DreamcatcherÔÇØ folder, it contains files that were patched and may of not been deleted. 3)Reinstall UC 4)Download the v2.00.00 patch and the 2.00.12.01 patch from www.3000ad.com, then move them to the directory which your uc.exe file is in, should be something like "C:ProgramFilesDreamCatcher3000ADUniversal Combat" 5)Run the v2.00.00 patch, and then the v2.00.12.01 patch. 6)If you backed up your saved games, move them to the SAVE folder now 7)Run the game and try and zoom in on a Planetary Base. Good Luck! Hope this works as well for you as it did for me! quote: Originally posted by Omega: Well, it appears that my solution does indeed work then. Perhaps you should try it Raptir. Wow, a noob like myself actually came up with what appears to be a valid solution! You could've just READ the FAQ.
