What video card? This problem (mouse flickering on/off) happens on Voodoo cards and there is NOTHING that I can do about it. Its a driver problem. What mouse? What mouse driver? Does it do the same thing when BCM is run in a window? See the bottom of the FAQ for windowed mode commandline options (these are for testing only!). And whatever you guys do, the first person to post an old or unofficial driver version, is getting banned from posting. You HAVE been warned. The rule of thumb is to ALWAYS update your drivers.

A shrink wrap unit is for the Beta testers and those who order units via BMT Micro (not the boxed version). The keyboard and CDROM (in a Tyvex sleeve) are in the middle of the manual. The manual is then shrink wrapped (you DO know what that is, right?). The end result is a nice neat package without a bulky box. The units in the box are not shrink wrapped. The items are in the manual however and that it then placed inside the box.

Should I be concerned, or was she referring to something else? [ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: Menchise ] Better take it up with them real quick.

What time will the patch get released?

Do you see anything in the VCF which is crash related and which you are experiencing? If so, what? And that kind of vague report is not going to do you any good. A game can and will crash for a myriad of reasons. The first culprit is usually the system its running on. [ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
What time will the patch get released?

quote: Originally posted by Roberto: My only reason for wanting the patch is because you mentioned that you will loose your previous saved games when you install it, and I didnt want to get too deep in to the game, and loose where I was SC. No. The shipped version has that fix already. Which is why it is no longer in the VCF. The patch will not invalidate your saved games. At least I don't think so. -
If you want to play as a marine fp career but don't want to play an IA scenario which probably starts you in a hostile base (in which you'd most likely get killed), do this : SNG Select either the EFM or MIM career as desired - and make your weapon choices. Select the desired planet region and then the desired mission zone. If the Blue down arrow displays a mission zone list, you can see more entries if you move the mouse to the end of the list and it will auto-scroll. Make sure you select a FRIENDLY mzone!! Once you launch, activate your DIE system and switch to mode 3. Use this to cycle through targets until you see a DJP (manual p72). Close the DIE (it will auto-close once you start moving) and then use the caret on the mini-HUD (top-right corner) to move to it. The range is displayed to the left of the caret symbology. Note that the legend on the left is only the range. The caret you should be following is on the heading tape itself. Just like a regular waypoint caret. Once you find a DJP, activate it, then pick a hostile base to jump to. Using this technique, you can go to any base on a planet and still be able to go back to a friendly one if you want to. You can use DJPs and supply stations at friendly or hostile bases - but I'm sure you won't be trying to use one if some gits are shooting at you. So, its a good idea to just DJP outta there to a friendly base, use the supply station there and then come back to the hostile base. ========= SNG = Start New Game EFM = Elite Force Marine MIM = Mobile Infantry Marine SFM = Space Force Marine [ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Mine blows automatically when you hit "Y" You know, if your reports were more vague, my next door neighbor's eleven month old could probably relate. You have to do a LOT better than that if you want a response. At any rate, I just tried both instances here and they work fine. No, here is no count-down. Where did you get the idea that there would be one? What did you think the Y/N prompt is for? Did the manual (p62) say ANYTHING about a count-down?

I have the same stick on a machine right here next to me. And it works just fine.

Hey, after hearing some of the newbies getting store versions I wanted to make sure that I wasn't. So I was trying to be helpfull. Sorry. Really am. You were trying to be helpful? By opening two units looking for a NON EXISTENT wall map? QUIT while you're ahead. And I DO mean that.
-
quote: Originally posted by Soback: Ok, I got it. Here's the thing though. I open the box and out comes the manual, disk and keyboard sheet but no big map and the whole thing is not shrink wrapped. Thinking that it's some kind of mix up I go back to the store and tell them "Where is my map?, and the thing is not shrink wrapped like it's supposed to be." so we open up another box and there is no map and it's also not shrink wrapped. How's that? Thats how some units are (loose) in the box. The box is wafer sealed and does not need a shrink wrap. There is NO big map in the box. That map is given only if you had pre-ordered ONLINE and within the alloted time. SOME stores may also have the map. After ALL these months, WHICH part of this information was unclear to you? The ONLY map in the box on the back of the keyboard template. Thanks for opening a unit that now can't be sold. You are officially in my bad books. [ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I have over 512 megs of ram. Also the game will occasionally jam up. Nothing to do with BCM. Also, in the future, you may want to post your basic system specs. e.g. processor, video card (+ memory) and sound card. Have you registered the game yet?

This will only happen on planets that have sections with mixed races. It used to be Multi-national. I changed it to Mixed and forgot to update the language file. Doh! So, read the online VCF and read the last entry in the RC2 section for a quick fix until the 1.0.01 patch is released. This will only happen on Earth, Moon and other such planets with Mixed races. All ships behave differently. And the manual is 100% correct. I should know. I wrote it. Page 52-53 are very extensive in explaining what is going on. Besides, rule of thumb : Don't take a capital ship (carrier, cruiser, transport) to a planet or moon without... First checking the ship's stats in the online appendix. Repairing all damage, especially to engine and reactor. Knowing what you're doing

Yeah, EB told me that the fulfillment center plastered the serial number across the flap. I've already told them about it, so they will be careful with the next production run. As for the jewel case - putting in one would not have allowed the shrink wrapped version to be possible since the case would be too thick to fit in the manual. I'm sure you can find a jewel case somewhere. Then, just cut out the reg number and tape it to the case.

What time will the patch get released?
Supreme Cmdr replied to Stroman's topic in Battlecruiser Series
I'm still running some tests. Hopefully it will be out by tomorrow. There's nothing critical in that warrants an urgent release. The game works fine out of the box, so, just wait until the patch is well cooked. OK? Anyway, is there anything in particular you wanted from the patch? -
Yeah. The Playmod tool is being overhauled and updated as we speak. I passed it on to Andrei to do yesterday and it should be ready by next week. I also enabled the /i (invincibility) mode in the upcoming 1.0.01 patch.

It works as designed. Read the keyboard sheet and FAQ again.
