  1. You think thats bad, huh? Here, take a gander at this and this

The demo is NO indication of the full game's processing power. In fact, the demo takes place in a completely smaller galaxy, which is the same as used by the Instant Action scenarios in the full game. So, don't go confusing the demo's performance with that of the full game, unless you only plan on playing IA scenarios.

  4. quote: Originally posted by buckthesystem: I dont want to get anyone into trouble, but generally all BC websites i've visited have thier own BC webrings owned by themselves What?!?! Jaguar, please investigate. And while you're at, can someone place this newbie under arrest until he starts squealing please?
  5. see what I mean? Now he's threatening to kick my ass. LOL!!! As for the other twit, he wasn't even IN the forum because his vanity email was deleted. So, he couldn't have read ANYTHING on the site since he never did get in.
  6. quote: Originally posted by Gamesniped: Hi y'all I'm new here I can't wait 2 get BCM! I was wondering I'm about to upgrade to 320RAM I have a P2/MMX 500mhz Win 98SE and a PCI 32SDR Radeon should this be effecient to run BCM? You're upgrading to 320MB RAM. So, uhm, how much RAM to you have now? Anyway, with that rig, all the memory in the world isn't going to help you - unless you're going to be running the game at 640x480 and with ALL rendering options set to their bare minimum. When in doubt, read this.
  7. quote: Originally posted by Impact: Hi,I never played any of the previous BC games, however somehow i found myself here...and really like the look of this game. However i cant seem to find any general information on what this game is about and the general overview of what you do and can do. Is the game open so you go do what you want...or is it more along the lines of you get told what to do then do it and move on to the next mission? would it be fair to say BCM is simlar in play to the Elite style games but just far far more advanced and in depth? What?!? Doesn't look like you've looked hard enough, mate.
  8. quote: Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: I agree whole heartedly, after working for many years(too many) on various helpdesks and stuff I have come to the conclusion that people in general are completely unwilling to do much(if anything) themselves. They will moan, whinge and generally kick up shit to get their own way and all I can say is my hat is off to SC for telling them all where to go. Often times i would have loved to tell a user/caller to F*** off and do it themselves but if I did I'd get fired and I can't afford that.I envy you SC. Keep up the good work. And you know, its not like I enjoy doing it. Sometimes you just can't help it - especially when you've run out of patience. People, gamers in general, have this preconcieved notion that developers owe them something - other than a game. I mean, in how many commercial fields will find the crap that goes on between gamers/developers/publishers, being encouraged? I mean, seriously. It is a select few of half-wits who have NO home training and NO respect for authority and/or rules, who are usually the first to cry foul. I'm an equal opportunity attitude adjuster. No matter who, what or where, if something goes against my rules and regs, they're getting it. As soon as you start extending an inch, most what to take a frigging mile. Even if you bought an appliance or car etc, if there is a problem, you don't just walk into the store and raise hell. You'll either get thrown out or arrested. Thats similar to what these bastards do online and think they can get away with it. If I were running a storefront and some idiot pulled that kind of stunt there, I'd tell him to get the f*ck out, throw him out or call the cops. Yes, it IS that simple. Online, these anti-social misfits feel that they can do anything they please and get away with it.
  9. ...uhm, does this mean I can unpack my Howitzer now then?
  10. quote: Originally posted by Soback: Nova, get you butt in here and explain yourself or you will be confined to sickbay. ROTFLMAO!!! Me? I'm just gonna watch.
  11. quote: Originally posted by buckthesystem: My first post *****es!!! (apologies to SC) LOL!!! Thats not how it works, you git. You have to be the FIRST post in the thread. Damn newbies.
  12. OK, who last had the rope?
  13. The orders page now has a link to the boxed version. If you haven't already ordered, use that link for the boxed order. If you want to change your order from the shrinkwrapped version, create a new box order and in the comments section, tell them that you want to cancel your previous order for the shrink wrapped version. If you already ordered the shrink wrapped version, sent them email to change to the box - and you are happy with this - do nothing. Boxed units are in LIMITED supply for International shipment as making this available was a last minute decision I made. [ 10-16-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  16. quote: Originally posted by R_wilco: Very few outside these forums seem to recognize the hard work and dedication SC and his crew have put in the BC series, ESPECIALY given the sheer scope and scale of The Game.I've said it before, I'll say it again. SC, j00 r0xx0r. Of course not. They prefer to run around crying like half-wit girly men because they get their feelings hurt. Anyone remember ACTRADE from the other thread? Read that Usenet thread above and you'll see what I'm talking about. Of course, the usual suspects are already in there. I've said my piece and left. As I've said it before and I'll say it again. I do this for FUN. And I really don't f*cking care if I'm the ONLY one left playing my game. Its a hobby and thats all I care about. If someone decides to be a part of my hobby, so be it. They pay for my time by buying the game. As such, I have ZERO sympathy for people who intentionally rub me the wrong way, go against MY RULES or who twist the facts. I really, truly don't give a toss. I'm NOT sure just how many times I have to keep posting this around the world before people actually get it. This is MY domain I PAY for THIS domain MY world. MY game. MY rules Anyone doesn't like it, they can get the f*ck out. NOTHING could be simpler. [ 10-16-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  17. quote: Originally posted by Urza: I thought of these questions looking at the screenshots you posted earlier.1. Was there a specific reason why the planetary teleporter thing (I forget what it's called) isn't enabled in single player? It seems a little limiting in what you can do with the marine career. 2. If you start in a hostile base as a marine, how do you get more ammo and equipment, assuming you can't use their supply station? (if you can, just say so) 3. In general, how much does your armor help you? In other words, how many shots can you take on average, with an average gun and average armor before croaking? (sorry if I'm being too general here, but are we talking Counterstrike(head shots are lethal) or Duke Nukem(not even God can take that much damage and still be alive)) 4. How many marines can you expect to find in an average base? Do they respawn? 5. If you can't see anything at night, aren't these bases lit up? These questions ought to hold me for a few days. The DJP is enabled in sp but it has minimal functionality i.e restricted to the current planet only; only transports personnel and not vehicles etc In sp there is no restriction on supply station use. If think you're going to make a beeline for a hostile station with NPCs in pursuit, then you should think twice about that because you'll probably get killed while using it. I don't answer silly questions. Wait for the game. It depends on the base. No, there is no such thing as re-spawning in BCM. Never was. If a base has 50 marines, then all 50 will be sent out in teams. Kill em all and it will take awhile for new ones to come along. Goto Q3

  19. quote: Originally posted by JJ: a while ago when i was younger i had a weird dream...earth had been destroyed and the colony ship i was on had deplyoed me as a fighter...alone...no wing support to fly around through the galaxy and comeback...it was free flight..it was beautiful i was diving through asteroid fields....through rings of planets...through the clouds of distant planets...it what i loved....ever since then i have been waiting for a game that has allowed me to do that...now i finally have it..thanks sc (yeah sorry guys it was a werid dream.....had been playing alien legacy all day, and was absolutely pass out tired...what can i say i was young :-)) You're welcome
  20. quote: Originally posted by Adrian Dune: SC, Just wondering if their could ever possible be a patch that lets you take other NPC's weapons, armor, etc from them after you kill them. I am just saying this because, i think it would be really fun to be a fugitive and run around killing people, and taking and living off of their stuff. (just an idea) And I realize that a Pilot won't necessarily know how to use a Marines weapon, but I am just saying...it's an idea. (also have fingers crossed for "mature" patch, in the far future.) Probably not.
  21. quote: Originally posted by Luc: okay I have another one....sorry, after you did all that work Joel. Multi Environment Combat Simulator (MECS) OK. Luc's the winner. Everybody go home. LUC, Joel, you guys send your mailing info to [email protected] asap.
