Enterprise: The Night of Judgement...
Supreme Cmdr replied to Korono Lakeela's topic in General Chatter
...am currently watching episode 3. I swear, if this doesn't get better with age, I'm gonna commit Hari Kari in front of the telly. These characters are so frigging forgettable, I wish they all wore Red shirts. -
heh, what a waste of upload bandwidth. The appendix data is completely different and included on the BCM CDROM. Gallion made some changes (he forgot to do the EP tables) and those will be uploaded to the downloads page once BCM goes live.

What is he smoking, if I compare reviews from other space sims and they are more or less complete then how the hell is BCM uncomplete? Anyway, it should be uncomplete in a sense that there's much more and better things that will come out from SC after BCM and for BCM, BCM itself is pretty much complete. I think he means that its missing something, such as multiplayer, a hold-my-hand-please type campaign etc

Well, congratulations!!

The uninspiring graphics part is the result of him having a Voodoo 5500. 'nuff said.

After I completed that tour, I lost fleet C&C. Several missions later, I had one that indicated that Reins would be on board to grant me fleet c&c access. Reins did come on board, but I did not get fleet C&C. The mission either shouldn't have bothered saying that you would have fleet C&C or the mission script itself is wrong. The mission is FINE. If my post and the one before mine aren't clear, try reading them again. There are a LOT more factors related to the USE of fleet C&C than just HAVING fleet C&C

quote: Originally posted by Menchise: All's forgiven. phew! close call No, really, I should never have doubted to. The evidence was just too compelling. Apart from the vouches from others here (including my inner self ) and my buddy's report, Macon DeWitt sent an entire email that reads like an FBI report (complete with IP info etc), indicating why he doesn't think its you. heh

A new version of BCStudio, along with the compliant pluging for BCM Gold, will be released along with GBS-II If $ilk is sending you the plugin, make sure you get both the plugins (Max 2/3) as well as the HTML file which shows you how to use the plugin. If you don't do it properly, you won't be able to view the exported file in BCS.

OK, I think we're going off topic here. Lets take it to this thread.

OK, I'll create a newbie forum before the game gets into their hands.
-
Yes Also, Gallion and Pugwash will be on hand to assist. They are two people, apart from myself, who know the system.

The official your favorite things thread!

My fav thing is to OTS one area of a site to soften it up. Then beam down a bunch of marines with varying firepower. Then go down there myself with a sniper rifle and start taking pot shots at everyone who doesn't look like my Dad. Man, that sniper rifle is cool - if I may say so myself. -
quote: Originally posted by Wolferz: The pleasure was all ours. Truly. Yeah, bastards almost drove me nuts....as if I wasn't already. But no, really, the guys did a FANTASTIC job. I mean, sometimes I take a look at a bug report and go "....how the f*ck did he reproduce that?!?" or "....uhm, I didn't write that, did I?" hehe It got hairy for awhile though. I was so stressed that I put a ban on all bogus reports, required confirmation from someone else and threatened actual bodily harm to anyone who sent me off on a wild goose chase. Needless to say, they ignored the last part, and did it anyway. Like I said, bastards :-) The recent PC Gamer review doesn't have a *single* word about bugs. Imagine that!! Here is an excerpt of something I posted elsewhere. quote: PCGAMER: High:Huge universe to explore; comprehensive selection of races and spacecraft; exhaustive options. Lows: No multiplay yet; only one structured campaign, uninspiring graphics; steep learning curve. Bottom line: A highly ambitious freeform space sim but still incomplete. SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE REVIEW: think it was the mixture of their problems with the single player campaigns, which they said were not structured enough, and the multiplayer. basically they said the game was like a sandbox type game, you do what you feel like doing. as they say: "Its kind of like someone tossed you the keys to a starship and simply told you to "Have at it Sparky". MY COMMENT: I was told that the game cries out for multiplayer and that alone, will dock it some points. So, if you take that into context, the game would've gone over 80 if multiplayer was in. But just think - had I opted to rush multiplayer, it wouldn't have been as secure and bug-free as the single player and it would *still* have lost points for not having good multiplayer. See what I mean? Catch-22 is a *****. The review echoes the sentiments of the previews of the title and I don't expect the other reviews to be any different. All in all, I think the score is fair, though I don't like the fact that games lose points because they don't have multiplayer or because they are too freeform. :-) [ 10-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

This happened to me last night. I posted a message and it didn't show up. So, I hit the back button, copied what I'd posted, created a new post - and both posts showed up. Of course, I had to delete one of them. I think its a UBB bug. I hear that v6.1 should be out this week.

I agree, but how do you prevent newbies from posting elsewhere? I mean, they WILL see a newbie forum, but still go and post in other BCM dedicated forums (e.g. BCM Discussion).

quote: Originally posted by Josh: The problem is he didn't actually answer my question, he just said I was wrong... uhm, don't you consider my response an answer? quote: which I wasn't. Yes you were - and in many aspects. Starting with the the 190mb graphics card. Further, you asked Will BCM run on my machine? And the answer is what I gave. You didn't ask about the demo. Then you ask again Is this a good indication of how the final product will run on my machine?

quote: Originally posted by Soback: SC was giving Josh the right information and correcting him. What's wrong with that? Would you rather have him not reply at all and have Josh thinking that the game requires a minimum of 8mb video memory? Hey!! I was just going to post that.

quote: Originally posted by Soback: Well, I was actually asking if SC is considering AOL to be vanity or not. No am not. AOL, have a strict non-nonsense policy. All it takes is one complaint and proof and the entire a/c will be deleted. They get sued too many times, and they end up losing most of the time.

Damn, I can't believe they won!!

I upped my production numbers a bit. So, once it appears around the week of 10/15, it should be in stores. I expect to run out of units by the end of October. No kidding.
