Hard as it is to form accurate judgements given the anonymous nature of the Internet - I dunno, I think a troll wouldn't be able to hide their true colors for that long, without giving something away by their tone or content. Like what happened with Ent1ty. Menchise doesn't seem to fit the profile, in my most extremely humble opinion...Besides, without him we wouldn't have those windy political debates between him, Aramike and Jaguar, would we? Nah. The investigation is complete, its not him. Sorry Nick!!

I mean seriously my planets never got crunched... of course I'm only listing this just to say that these effects didn't happen on that particular card, and I'm not trying to defend my ex-3d lover... Lets just say that I don't believe it, and leave it at that. OK?

I don't care about the demo Josh. I'm talking about the RELEASED game. Get it now? If you are able to run the demo on a system that meets with its requirements, good for you. But the FACT is, just because you CAN run the demo, doesn't mean you CAN run the final game. I hope this is clear

That used to be there there main shipping and distribution center, but that was a few years ago. I don't know if taht is still main center. Now, the fulfillment center that SC is talking about, I don't know Your guess is as good as mine! EB doesn't handle my production. I do. So, their fulfillment center has nothing to do with my production. My fulfillment center ships their units to their central warehouse. From there is goes to the various stores.

quote: Originally posted by $iLk: BTW MAX PAYNE and Operation Flashpoint ran smoothly with the voodoo5 with no graphical glitches that I encountered. Your point being what? Neither one of them has a single model that is even remotely in size as the BCM models. The problem with the Voodoo cards is that they are losing precision in Z buffer calculation. I spoke to the Croteam guys, Brian Hook and a few other devs, who agree. That planet you see in the shot, is HUGE (the equatorial diameter of Earth is 12756km. Do the math). From a distance, its fine, up close, its not. And thats due to the size of the polys when up close. And when you compensate for closeer models (fp weapons), it overflows in the opposite direction. The problem is ONLY evident on Voodoo cards and its due to bad architecture and drivers. They never banked on someone doing a game that even goes anywhere near the limits of the card+drivers. Which is exactly what I went and did. And since they're no longer around to fix it, all Voodoo owners of BCM, are screwed. Buy a GF or Radeon

This is odd because even Andy Mahood, the reviewer for PC Gamer, has a V5500 and experienced the same identical problems.

I've got Rhino, and Lightwave. Don't know how to use well yet though. No need. I think their scaled down version called GMax, is free.

quote: Originally posted by $iLk: My v5 worked good with the latest drivers on both win2k and on winME, the only probelm was I would have transparent layers on certain surfaces, and the Hyperdrive transition would screw up sometimes. Other than that, it looks comparable to the G3 in terms of resolution. Really? What drivers are you using? On my V3, V4, V5, here is what I get in all versions of Windows, using the final 3Dfx drivers as well as the lastest x3Dfx drivers. Notice the texturing: distant planet close planet Notice the texturing, White banding etc fp mode, crouched fp mode, standing fp mode, standing + firing [ 10-09-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Not even close Try reading the demo readme to see what kernel was used in the E2 demo. Then read the Beta VCF to see the difference since that kernel to the actual Gold release version.

What a sordid WASTE of time. Why can't you just warn the fokars that they CANNOT use ANY names from a science fiction work and be done with it. If they do, kick 'em out. No need to compile a list.

Only a total and complete idiot would buy a Voodoo 5500 at ANY price these days. If you liked it so much, why'd you change?

Relax Nick, a lot of people have vouched for you here, in email and on ICQ. I am relieved I'm glad that you understand why the evidence looks highly suspicious. Nevertheless, am waiting to hear back from my friend, then we'll have concrete evidence. I suspect it would be a waste of time, but its time well spent. As you know, over the years, we've booted one or two long time forum members who felt that their tenure gave them carte blanche to mess with and/or disrespect me. As I've said before, I really don't give a shit if someone has been around since I thought up BC, I will boot them from this site. If I was sure that you were the one, you would've been booted. Speaking of booting, I have deleted ALL profiles with vanity email addresses. I have restored Steve's original profile. Steve, your new one is deleted, which is why your post shows unregistered. When I restored the previous one, I copied the email+password from the new to the old one. So, you should be able to log back in using the old profile but with the new password. But if you can read this, then you're already in. There are some known members with vanity emails. In 24hrs I am going to delete those profiles and I will NOT restore them. e.g. Ristar is using hockeymail.com. Gordon is still using Netzero and I just deleted everyone with a Juno vanity email (including Mikel). ALL of you had sufficient warning. I only restored Steve's profile because I deleted it in error and he's a known member who's been around for like, forever. So, I didn't mind taking the time to dig up the backup from my local server and restore the site copy. Thats that.

I flat out forgot to check each on for known people. Had I seen your name there, I would've skipped it. I have a backup though. Shall I restore it?

quote: Originally posted by $iLk: It's fine now, it was before the post where I said that. I posted, then I think aramike posted and I clicked the commlink forum graphic and no one was listed as the poster. That was a scare for me after I was reading your post about changing our passwords which caused me to change mine immediately.Once again I vouch for Menchise as a character reference as he has done nothing I have seen (in regards to this forum and active worlds) to tip me off otherwise. On the contrary he is quite a productive member of our community in both areas. Still waiting to hear from him first. I know what you're saying, but I tell you, its weird and I, for one, would be surprised. But then again, a good mole is a good mole. I'm gonna need some serious convincing, though.

It's good to know that you are honoring your promise. If you remember, I defended this point on Usenet at the time. I still have the original reg database, so I can just look up your name. Thats proof enough if you ordered the first CDROM from BMT. Yeah, I remember. And if you remember, I told them to go screw 'emselves and that I was going to do it anyway.
