oh, then you have a different problem then. Probably related to your system. All known demo issues are in the BCM FAQ
-
There are 13 tracks in the final game
-
No. You get to buy one. Your friends get to buy their own copies. Why is any of this strange?
-
BCM ships on a single CD-ROM For multiplayer, you need to have a boxed copy of the game. The CD KEY is required to play on mp servers because it needs to be authenticated. On a LAN, only unique CD KEYs are allowed.

No worries, mate - I don't have thin skin Anyway, since I last wrote that message, I've been searching the Installshield Express knowledge base and FAQs, looking for that 1304 error. They haven't heard of it either. So, needless to say, I'm stumped.

Nobody called you a liar. I said I doubted that you had 1.8GB free. My post still stands as it was originally written. I'm not getting in a pissing match with you. I've been trying to help, by coming up with any scenario that I can think of. You don't want my help. Fair enough, this will be my last post. Paddy, I'm not here to babysit anyone, organize cookouts or go for long walks on the beach, with anyone. I write the way I write, some don't like it - but I still won't lose sleep at night thinking about it. But thats just me. I found NOTHING wrong with my post. After doing tech support for SO long, it is not uncommon to discover that the end-user is either (a) giving you the wrong info, so you end up giving the wrong advice or ( they don't have a clue what they're talking about. Both (a) and ( amount to the same thing : a protracted waste of time. quote: you can't figure out some shitty problem with your own game! There is NO plausible reason why the demo won't install on your system (especially if you claim to have tried both CD-ROMs from PCG and PCZ), unless you have a hardware problem. Well, guess what, thats got NOTHING to do with the game. Period. End of story. In fact, BCM doesn't even get called into action until Installshield is finished installing the game. So, this is NOT a problem with the game, at all. [ 05-29-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

If you tried installing from the web download, or the PCG and PCZ CD-ROMs, and you get the same problem with the same file, what does that tell you? Its a problem with your system or you DON'T have enough HDD space. Those CD-ROMs contain the HC version. If you DO have 1.8GB of disk space free (I doubt it), then its not a problem of disk space.

hehe, Jaguar you got me all figured out, huh?

quote: I think the TER/GAL thing should be used. I think so too, but I don't have time to change the code atm. Lets wait until the game is released, then we can all sit down (again), and hammer out these designations. Once its all hammered out, I'll just implement it in a patch.

Antti also had a Neo Nazi website. That also influenced my decision to ban him. quote: The first week will be dedicated "Derek Hunting Season" anyway ....yeah right. You've got to see me on TacScan first, don't you think? quote: LOL! You guys... ....just imagine - some idiot actually put these ladies in charge of billion dollar vessels!! quote: I eagerly await the release of BC:M. Multiplayer may just change all this banter. We may soon see new players jousting for positions within the fleets rather than the fleets scrounging for the crumbs that float by. oh, it will be fun. This, I know. Too bad I've run out of time and it won't make it into the first release. But that doesn't mean its going to take long. The code is already in place. I suspect that about a month after the release, the mp patch will be out. So, by mid-July (I estimate), you'll all be living out those RP fantasies. -
I was actually going to put in support for that 4th axis, but forgot. I will though. If not at release, but shortly after (in the multi-player patch).

daagon. Not being able to install, is not a BCM problem. Thats completely unrelated. I think you should uninstall the demo, then run scandisk (again). Look for the demo install folder and get rid it of it. Then install from the PC Zone CD-ROM version.

quote: And, pray tell, how many people do you think will level that structure, out of frustration of the release date that seems to be getting further away, rather than closer? hehe, they should be levelling my building, not the EB one. But since mine is not in the game, well then, I guess they'd have to settle for the EB one.

Yep. The graphics are impressive. No question about it. The gameplay, unfortunately, has all been done before. *sigh*

ROTFLMAO!!!!

Defrag your hard drive and run ScanDisk while you're at it.

Another Inviting ourselves onboard in BCM - A question

As long as the they remain as BMP files, have the same name as the original and are the same size, you can do what the heck you like e.g. replace the entire crew of officers and pilots. In fact, you don't even have to mess with the zip file. Just create the new files and leave them in that folder where the npc.zip file is. The game will use the version with the most recent date/time stamp, ignoring the older version in the zip file. To revert to using the defaults, just delete yours. -
Due to Yahoo picking up the Webring, Richard aka Jaguar, is setting up a new ring over at RingSurf. If you were in the old ring, go to the new ring link and register your site. Now!!! [ 05-25-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

quote: good (the SC terms this as whining hehe, constructive whining perhaps? Anyway, BCM and GCO handle switching differently. BCM won't have persistent stats saving (though the server will be persistent as long as someone doesn't flip the power switch ) at all. So, once you log off, when you log back in, you'll be starting from scratch. GCO is a whole different ball game. It works just like other MMOG. You can have several different character profiles (I'm capping it at two, max). So, you can have a Terran/Military and a Terran/Insurgent, though you can only log on with one at any one time. Of course, if you change the character, you lose it completely, and have to create a new one from scratch. So, if you are playing as a Terran/Military and decide to switch sides, just delete your character and create a Terran/Insurgent one. Thats it. You've switched. -
