Race/Caste logos updated
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
quote: I wouldn't think that the Insurgency would use this logo They have no choice. ALL people using these logos MUST have the RACE+CASTE+WING (optional), all on the same line. Terran/Mil personnel can use the single form GIF that I use on my sig, if they don't want to use the default 2 image format. The URL is http://www.3000ad.com/images/gclogo.gif So, all you Insurgents sporting just that insignia, add the Terran logo as the race. Now. Just because the Insurgents don't get along with Earthcom/Galcom, doesn't make them any less Terran. This is NOT open to debate, discussion or any such action. The FIRST rubbish I see, I'm kicking the person off the site. NO EXCEPTIONS. [ 05-18-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] [ 05-19-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
Race/Caste logos updated
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
quote: You left them speechless. Heh, no wonder. Their logo sure looks cool heh, I don't see them using it yet. So far, Gummy is still using the insignia of his Wing (I think), which is fine, but they'd also need to use the Insurgent one and the Terran one as well. -
Race/Caste logos updated
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
quote: If Galactic Command is a multi-polar force, an alliance between Terran-Empirian-Vesperon, why does the GalCOM logo appear almost identical to the Terran logo? It even appears to have Earth on it. Because it was formed by the Terrans. Further, the Terrans are the predominant entity in the alliance....especially due to the strained relations between the Vesperons and the Empirians. The Eagle is identical. Representing the Terrans, it denotes that the Terrans are the predominant faction. quote: I like the Credian logo. It looks very cool. Yeah, Mike did a great job. He created the Terran, Galcom, Insurgent, Credian, Earthcom logos from scratch, based on my design ideas. All the others he just cleaned up. The older Credian one (check the BC3K manual I think), wasn't very attractive, so I told him to come up with something on his own. That was it. quote: And I think the Insurgent logo suits their cause. Thats why I designed it like that and asked Mike to actually create it as I envisioned it. So far, not a peep from the Insurgents. quote: Did Rattler and his boys contribute that one? No btw, I combined the Terran and GALCOM logos to create the animated GIF you see in my sig. Since I'm a Terran and belong to GALCOM, I had that brainstorm, so I did it like that, rather than having two images. [ 05-17-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
I have cleaned up and updated the Assets Info as well as uploaded a page containing the final race/caste logos Both of those are also linked directly from the Fleets Database page. These logos, btw, are ready for use by all factions of the BC universe. [ 05-20-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

quote: sorry to disturb your nap SC, but LOL!!! Thats funny Make sure you read the other threads on the demo. This is usually a sign of a bad config, drivers etc. Read the FAQ again. I just updated it yesterday. And be sure that you have added /d2 flag to the shortcut before playing.
-
quote: I hope you can fix this for others. There's nothing to fix, install proper drivers for your card.
-
Dunno what you're going on about. If the game crashes after an explosion, its a problem and not a feature. .....and you haven't even posted your system specs yet. To run the demo, you MUST be using either /d1 or above, in the shortcut - or when the game needs to write to a non-existent debug file, it will crash.

hehe, cool pics. You know you can add a link to your pic, via your UBB profile? I enabled it. So, you can put your links there too, if you like. -
hehe, I keep telling everybody, shots do NOT do the game justice. At all. And he was only able to take that craft underwater because I have not yet enabled the water title detection yet. btw, that shot of the station against the planet backdrop, was taken using the standard F10 camera which has a fixed pos around the target. To see the true size of the station against Earth, you'd need to target the planet, rotate it up close until you see the station in orbit, then zoom out. The station, compared to the planet, is but a speck and is NOT visible to the naked eye. Here are the dimensions: station: 12.5km (H) x 28km (W) x 28km (L) planet: 12756km diameter The planet is about 455x the size of the station, depending on how you do the math. While you're doing *that* math...think about this, Jupiter is 142796km in diameter 'nuff said

There are a few Homeworld players here I think.

quote: Is it possible the demo won’t run on my computer, but the final game will? No. If you can't run the demo, you won't be able to run the final game. So don't waste your money. I see no reason why the demo won't run, unless you haven't actually read the BCM FAQ

Read the demo requirements in the demo readme

quote: Hey! Don't knock NT. It may not be able to run most games but it's a good system and one of the most stable around. Its not a gaming OS. I don't care about it. We're talking about a gaming OS. Do try to keep up. quote: In fact, Windows 2000 (which BCM supports) is just a fancy name for NT 5. You're kidding. Right? WIN2K was supposed to be NT5. Its not just an upgrade to NT4, regardless. Even if it was called NT5, it would still have been a gaming OS (for all the reasons, and then some, that Emmett mentions). NT is not and never was, a gaming OS. DOS and WIN95 were both gaming OSes

UBB doesn't seem to want to work with that URL. I've just tried doing it. Looks like another UBB bug to me, because it insists on breaking up the string in the InputPriceMax section. So, there is a space in there. Thats what screwing up the link. I think UBB may have a max string length or something silly like that. [ 05-14-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

If I wanted to use Yellow on Blue as the primary text on the forum, I'd use a new style sheet. Please STOP using Yellow and stick with the standard text color - unless you are accenting something. It hurts my eyes when abused.

Nothing to do with BCM
-
quote: Now THAT is Standard Galcom Dress Uniform! Indeed!!!
-
....and by the same token, Menchise, putting in support for a buggy, antiquated OS, is not my idea of development heaven. Get it now? BCM is not supported under WIN95 for the same reason its not supported under MSDOS and NT.
-
Thats pure bollocks, Tac. WIN98 is a much improved and stable kernel than WIN95, USB support aside.

Star Trek: Enterprise announced.

Soback, that mission is not compatible with the normal BCM code base because the station is retextured specifically for it. The only way to play that mission is to back up the following files in the normal demo (HC or LC version) : quote: datascenarios.zip dataworld.zip And copy these files from the PCG demo folder to yours : quote: datascenarios.zip dataworld.zip modelssstat2pcg.3d modelstexturessstat2pcg1.bmp modelstexturessstat2pcg2.bmp modelstexturessstat2pcg3.bmp modelstexturessstat2pcg4.bmp This will give you all 3 IA scenarios. And no, I am not posting these files on the site. Ask Pugwash or someone, to open a free account over at i-drive, put them there and post the link in this thread. Also, since PCG #96 ran the public demo, for station docking to work, the demo update is still required, if this file is not in the demo install folder: quote: gfxfrontendstations.zip
