This is done all in good fun to lighten things up around here. Takvah: Ah. IÔÇÖd like to have a political argument, please. SC: Certainly. Have you been here before? Takvah: No, I havenÔÇÖt, this is my first time. SC: I see. Well, do you want to have just one argument, or were you thinking of taking a course? Takvah: Well, what is the cost? SC: Well, ItÔÇÖs one buck for a five minute argument, but only eight bucks for a course of ten. Takvah: Well, I think it would be best if I perhaps started off with just the one and then see how it goes. SC: Fine. Well, IÔÇÖll see whoÔÇÖs free at the moment. Pause SC: Mr. Pugwash is free, but heÔÇÖs a little bit conciliatory. Ahh yes, Try Jaguar; room 12. Takvah: Thank you. (Walks down the hall. Opens door.) Lostinspace: WHAT DO YOU WANT? Takvah: Well, I was told outside thatÔǪ Lostinspace: DonÔÇÖt give me that, you snotty-faced heap of parrot droppings! Takvah: What? Lostinspace: Shut your festering gob, you tit! Your type really makes me puke, you vacuous, coffee-nosed, maloderous, pervert!!! Takvah: Look, I CAME HERE FOR A POLITICAL ARGUMENT, IÔÇÿm not going to just standÔǪ!! Lostinspace: OH, oh IÔÇÖm sorry, but this is abuse. Takvah: Oh, I see, well, that explains it. Lostinspace: Ah yes, you want room 12A, Just along the corridor. Takvah: Oh, Thank you very much. Sorry. Lostinspace: Not at all. Thank You. (Under his breath) Stupid git!! (Walk down the corridor) Takvah: (Knock) Jaguar: Come in. Takvah: Ah, Is this the right room for a political argument? Jaguar: I told you once. Takvah: No you havenÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Yes I have. Takvah: When? Jaguar: Just now. Takvah: No you didnÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Yes I did. Takvah: You didnÔÇÖt Jaguar: I did! Takvah: You didnÔÇÖt! Jaguar: IÔÇÖm telling you I did! Takvah: You did not!! Jaguar: Oh, IÔÇÖm sorry, just one moment. Is this a five minute polititcal argument or the full half hour? Takvah: Oh, just the five minutes. Jaguar: Ah, thank you. Anyway, I did. Takvah: You most certainly did not. Jaguar: Look, letÔÇÖs get this thing clear; I quite definitely told you. Takvah: No you did not. Jaguar: Yes I did. Takvah: No you didnÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Yes I did. Takvah: No you didnÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Yes I did. Takvah: No you didnÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Yes I did. Takvah: You didnÔÇÖt. Jaguar: Did. Takvah: Oh look, this isnÔÇÖt a political argument. Jaguar: Yes it is. Takvah: No it isnÔÇÖt. ItÔÇÖs just contradiction. Jaguar: No it isnÔÇÖt. Takvah: It is! Jaguar: It is not. Takvah: Look, you just contradicted me. Jaguar: I did not. Takvah: Oh you did!! Jaguar: No, no, no. Takvah: You did just then. Jaguar: Nonsense! Takvah: Oh, this is futile! Jaguar: No it isnÔÇÖt. Takvah: I came here for a good argument. Jaguar: No you didnÔÇÖt; no, you came here for an argument. Takvah: A political argument isnÔÇÖt just contradiction. Jaguar: It can be. Takvah: No it canÔÇÖt. A political argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition. Jaguar: No it isnÔÇÖt. Takvah: Yes it is! ItÔÇÖs not just contradiction. Jaguar: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position. Takvah: Yes, but thatÔÇÖs not just saying ÔÇÿNo it isnÔÇÖt.ÔÇÖ Jaguar: Yes it is! Takvah: No it isnÔÇÖt. A political argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes. (short pause) Jaguar: No it isnÔÇÖt. Takvah: It is. Jaguar: Not at all. Takvah: Now look. Jaguar: (Rings bell) Good Morning. Takvah: What? Jaguar: ThatÔÇÖs it. Good morning. Takvah: I was just getting interested. Jaguar: Sorry, the five minutes is up. Takvah: That was never five minutes! Jaguar: IÔÇÖm afraid it was. Takvah: It wasnÔÇÖt. (Pause) Jaguar: IÔÇÖm sorry, but IÔÇÖm not allowed to argue anymore. Takvah: What?! Jaguar: If you want me to go on arguing, youÔÇÖll have to pay for another five minutes. Takvah: Yes, but that was never five minutes, just now. Oh come on! Jaguar: (Hums) Takvah: Look, this is ridiculous. Jaguar: IÔÇÖm sorry, but IÔÇÖm not allowed to argue unless youÔÇÖve paid! Takvah: Oh, all right. (pays money) Jaguar: Thank you. (short pause) Takvah: Well? Jaguar: Well what? Takvah: That wasnÔÇÖt really five minutes, just now. Jaguar: I told you, IÔÇÖm not allowed to argue unless youÔÇÖve paid. Takvah: I just paid! Jaguar: No you didnÔÇÖt. Takvah: I DID! Jaguar: No you didnÔÇÖt. Takvah: Look, I donÔÇÖt want to argue about that. Jaguar: Well, you didnÔÇÖt pay. Takvah: Aha. If I didnÔÇÖt pay, why are you arguing? I Got you! Jaguar: No you havenÔÇÖt. Takvah: Yes I have. If youÔÇÖre arguing, I must have paid. Jaguar: Not necessarily. I could be arguing in my spare time. Takvah: Oh IÔÇÖve had enough of this. Jaguar: No you havenÔÇÖt. Takvah: Oh Shut up. (Walks down the stairs. Opens door.) Takvah: I want to complain. Kalshion: You want to complain! Look at these shoes. IÔÇÖve only had them three weeks and the heels are worn right through. Takvah: No, I want to complain aboutÔǪ Kalshion: If you complain nothing happens, you might as well not bother. Takvah: Oh! Kalshion: Oh my back hurts, itÔÇÖs not a very fine day and IÔÇÖm sick and tired of this office. Takvah: (Slams door. walks down corridor, opens next door.) Takvah: Hello, I want toÔǪ Ooooh! (smacked on head) Grizzle: No, no, no. Hold your head like this, then go Waaah. Try it again. Takvah: uuuwwhh!! (smacked on head again) Grizzle: Better, Better, but Waah, Waah! Put your hand there. Takvah: No. Grizzle: Now.. Takvah: Waaaaah!!! Grizzle: Good, Good! ThatÔÇÖs it. Takvah: Stop hitting me!! Grizzle: What? Takvah: Stop hitting me!! Grizzle: Stop hitting you? Takvah: Yes! Grizzle: Why did you come in here then? Takvah: I wanted to complain. Grizzle: Oh no, thatÔÇÖs next door. ItÔÇÖs being-hit-on-the-head lessons in here. Takvah: What a stupid concept.

This is where Bush shines the best when he's able to talk directly to the people Kerry does better in more strick formal venues. Oh no Kerry is going to restore what they did in the 90's!!! Another thing Kerry is claiming he's had to cut back on some proposed plans because of the deficit. No wrongo because he's going to cut taxes how is he going to pay for those plans. Ah Bush just said that. I suggest to people if you haven't already see if you can't get a hold of any Penn and Teller's Bullshit they show on cable one in particular is Enviormental Hysteria download it if you must. And don't believe everything you hear from the EPA it's just another political bureaucracy. How can you keep lower health care if the Doctors malpratice insurance premiums go up year after year. That's what is driving up health costs. What is Kerry going to do? Force doctors to lower their fees? Yeah right! You do that people won't become doctors and the doctors that are already established just won't take that insurance that Kerry has planned everyone will be cover with. What's the plan gunna pay $7.25 cents? There's already a plan that does that and it's called Fidelis. I can tell you not many doctors accept that plan. OMFG he said it again "I have a plan"!!!!! Four times now!! maybe more wait and see [ 10-08-2004, 10:47 PM: Message edited by: LostInSpace ]

Smoking Gun against the U.N.

quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: No, the US has auditors going over the UN oil for food, and the UN is NOT happy about it. The UN is corrupt from the top to bottom, they need to be kicked out and sent off to the Hague where they belong, and the UN headquarters building turned into low income housing. At least then it would actually be helping people. Thanks Jag for that article. People keep saying sanctions work well then what's the story with Cuba? How long has the sanctions been against that country? Yet, Fidel Castro keeps thumbing his nose at everyone. Yep sanctions work (cough). Scantions may look good on paper and ease people's fears but that's all. As for the U.N. building turned into low income housing. That's on the east side and on the water front it's prime real estate and would be turned into a Trump Luxury Complex. I think I would rather see a nice casino there instead this city could use the income that would generate. -

I'm still waiting for the rest of the media to cover this issue with the same gusto they have in focusing in on WMD. Still nothing, this is the best CNN has done in this matter Cheney uses WMD report to defend Iraq war. Yep that's it folks no indept reporting like the fox article going on point for point with specifics. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: and only had plans to reconstitute them once the sanctions were lifted. And you don't think that Saddam would have been a threat that we would have had to deal in the near future anyway? Well the way I look at it take him out now before he has enough WMD to cause massive amounts of casualties. If you think the casuality count is high now, can you imagine what the count would be like if we needed to take him out in the near future and he had many WMD's to use effectively against any invading troops. -

First off his debate stance was to wait and give more time for the the U.N. sanctions to work which they were clearly not. Secondly, he would have gotten more countries on board (I.E. Germany, France, Russia etc..) which he would not have even if he turned blue in face with the above evidence. These countries were subverting the U.N. process and taking it to the bank as well. As I have stated before, these countries had too much of a good thing going to join and help the U.S. take down saddam. Also, it takes a fire cracker under american butts to get us to do anything sometimes. Sure saddam may not have been a global threat yet at the time of the war but he would have been soon and I mean very soon. Bush needed to do what needed to be done now not tomorrow in a month or years but now. That much I give him credit for. Kerry use to spout the same thing about Saddam and Iraq until it became politicaly advantageous to say otherwise. The rest I'll leave for your own research. While the United Nations focused on delivering humanitarian goods to an Iraqi population suffering from international sanctions and the totalitarian regime, Saddam's government devised elaborate ways to skim money from deals sending oil out and goods in. The report spells out how kickbacks were solicited and how money got to Baghdad. Iraq tried to manipulate foreign governments, including members of the U.N. Security Council (search) by awarding contracts -- and bribes -- to foreign companies and political figures in countries who showed support for ending sanctions, in particular Russia, France and China, the report says............................... One of the most prolific purchasers of the oil was Swiss-based Glencore run by one-time fugitive American financier Marc Rich, which the report alleges paid over $3.2 million in kickbacks to the Iraqi government. Rich, formerly wanted for tax-evasion was pardoned by President Clinton in his last days in office. Hmmm, these same countries who opposed the Iraq action. Regarding Clinton, it figures. Kerry is sounding more pathetic than ever concerning Iraq.

I found this quite interesting Let's have another miracle to save marriage and our families Mary Mostert July 15, 2004 Yesterday on a cloture motion on the Federal Marriage act, 48 U.S. Senators voted "Yes" on the bill and 50 voted "No" to not even allow a vote on whether or not marriage meant the union between one man and one woman. The two senators who did not think this issue was even sufficiently important to show up to vote were Democrats John Kerry of Massachusetts and his running mate, John Edwards. -

Umm, we both live in the united states how can your constitution be any stronger or weaker than mine we have the same one. Just kidding couldn't resist that one. Anyway, I am going to defer to an older argument. Would you rather have a doctor that smoked cannibis or one that didn't (both with the same qualifications) to operate on you if you ever needed an operation?

quote:Originally posted by Shingen: What really needs to be done, is the abolishment of the two party system all together! Well there are plenty of others but they are just squashed by the two more popular ones. BTW: As for cannibis, I agree with you but I don't think anyone who smokes it on a regular basis can think straight and those under the influence of THC show major lack of judgement as those who drink. The difference between drinking and THC is that the later stays in your system a hell of a lot longer than alcohol. Glad to see this discussion taking off. So far it's been really good.

Well I say it's about time! For years and years women have been chipping away at all male organizations. It's good to see the tables finally turning on them. AURORA, New York (AP) -- More than a third of Wells College's all-female student body protested trustees' decision to admit male students Sunday, sleeping in the lobby of the administration building or in the 15 tents set up on the lawn outside.

Nice find Reno. Ugh, does anyone have the koran? I searched the internet just now for the above Verse and half state it's true while others state it's false. A verse in the Koran, which happens to correspond to the date of the Attack on America, predicts that "the wrath of the Eagle" would be felt throughout the lands of Allah. The Truth This is a hoax. The quote is not from anywhere in the Koran (or Quran). Chapter 9 verse 11 actually says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and we make the communications clear for a people who know." (M. H.
