Quite a dilemma. Working on your side is the fact many other high-quality PC games are also pushing back their release dates. So you won't be in the penalty box all by yourself. You also have a core group of BC gamers who will stand by you and buy Universal Combat whenever it comes out. I'm not in Marketing so I won't even try to guess how much revenue will be lost by skipping a Christmas delivery date. By now, it probably doesn't matter anyway; you'd only be selling to last-minute shoppers. I can't think of many games I've bought, over the last couple of years, that wasn't buggy when it was first released. But, by the time I'd installed most any of them, patches were already available for download (Silent Hunter being the ugly exception). Of course, if an Internet connection isn't available to the purchaser.... And the bugs in UC are known problems. Granted, most bugs in other games are probably also known ... but you've already confessed ... admitted to the bugs. Which really puts you on the spot. Even if you could build a patch and have it out before the end of the year, you must still consider those buyers who don't have access to the Net. And, since many of the bugs are single-player related, the impact (and resulting dissatisfaction) would be great. This game could be the greatest thing since the refrigerator. I'd wait until everyone is tired of X-2, go balls to the wall, and work out the last few kinks. If Dreamcatcher gets fidgety, tell 'em to use their time to properly advertise your product. I hope Jaguar is wrong about how Saddam will be tried. Far too many people are still loyal to Saddam; even if they are not part of the tribunal, they can effectively intimidate those who are.

This miniseries is loosely based on the original Battlestar Galactica. Some of it is good, some of it isnt as good as the original, and some of it isnt very good in its own right. First off, the political intrigue has been distilled into a single sentence, uttered by a fembot, accusing Baltar of unwittingly providing classified computer codes. Quite interesting when you realize how the original series was so much more pro-military  especially considering the anti-military climate of the time. That being said, the whole concept of Cylons using the computer network against the Twelve Colonies is interesting. As is the plot twist where Adama doesnt trust the network and, consequently, has the only battlestar capable of surviving the Cylon attack (where is Commander Kane?). I think, though, they couldve cut the sex scenes (which were probably sanitized for the U.S. viewer, anyway) and better spent their time mixing the computer idea with politics from the original series. The space battles occasionally looked  oddly familiar. I grew up on 50s Japanese science fiction films like The Mysterions and the scenes with Boomer outrunning the Cylon attack looked sooooooo much like what I remember seeing in those big, dark theaters, sooooo many years ago. I dont know how they did it. Maybe it was the hand-held camera look that gave me the impression the ships were models attached to string. Ironic that state-of-the-art computer-generated graphics have come full circle. Then there was the chain of command. If military protocol were based on our own, then the Secretary of Education (school teacher) wouldve been under the command of the ships captain for as long as she was aboard. Nobody supercedes the authority of a captain when aboard his ship  not a general, not an admiral, not a Secretary. The new fighter-pilot uniforms look like leftovers from Babylon 5. The original jackets were far more impressive. But I like this Adama better. In the original, Adama acquiesced to the political machine, never questioning his orders to stand down, never complaining when he had to pick up the pieces after the Cylon attack on the colonies. This Adama pretty much ignores stupid orders. Its no wonder he admires Starbucks attitude. Tonight, I fully expect to see hotshot warriors at work. So far, none of Galacticas fighter pilots have fared better than the Cylons. Starbuck got nicked in her first engagement  tonight, she better be able to do more than chew cigars and punch old men in the face. And Apollo better get it together. All of it.

Now I'm really confused. I logged on at the database. Cool. I registered just yesterday. Talk about fast service. But, search as I might, I couldn't find any option to answer at roll call. The database really looks good. I'm impressed with all the work somebody has done there. But the only place I can find where a roll call might exist is at "Prime Fleet Bulletin" ... which is a work in progress. What else am I missing?

Just fleet commanders or is everyone required to register? I'm not sure if it means to register a website (making it related to this topic) or to register members of a website.
