New amphibious car
Charles Lindsey replied to Charles Lindsey's topic in Science, Technology & Health
I can see it now. Greg is going to change the glove compartment into the tackle box and the trunk into the livewell! -

The Coming Job Boom Article in Business 2.0. Six pages long though the first three are little more than single paragraphs. Good article I thought. Good argument with good looking numbers. Will just have to see if it comes to pass. It talks about the retiring baby boomers and the upcoming labor shortage. Has graphs showing past growth and projected future growth. Doesn't do much good for the here and now but perhaps something to look forward to and something for the youngest here to prepare for.

Tips for a job seeker Blatantly linked through Yahoo news > Business section > Business week online. Networking is advocated here with some tips on how not to seem desparate. (Seemed so to me)

Hehe, some of those are good. I like Blamestorming, Assmosis, Mousepotato, and adminisphere. Didn't I post or link to something on Administratium? If not, search for it. Hilarious. Assmosis is sad but true. Managers like to have their egos stroked. They also like immediate answers. Wrong or not. "I'll make sure" just doesn't cut it for some people.

Sorry to hear that. Some suggestions you may wish to take with a grain of salt. Concession person/ticket taker. Small rush, clean the lobby, two hour break between films. Pizza delivery. Gotta have a good car that gets good gas mileage to be worth it but always a little cash in the pocket. (tips) Civil service. Go down to your county or city personnel board and see if they have anything. Temp service. See if a temporary service can hire you out. Some of those work to permanent jobs sometimes. The first two are more for teenagers but that's all I got. Hope it helps.

Anyone have trouble with windows update?
Charles Lindsey replied to Epsilon 5's topic in General Chatter
OK, the reason I asked if if you used AOL is because Microsoft Update HATES the AOL "Client". This is proven by researching the Microsft knowledgebase and/ or message boards. -
Anyone have trouble with windows update?
Charles Lindsey replied to Epsilon 5's topic in General Chatter
Hades, for questions like this you really should have your system profile info in your sig. Are you using AOL? Are you running an AMD processor? Does your hardware predate Windows XP? -
New Fleet DB
Charles Lindsey replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
Welcome Voltaic. Glad to have you. NO one but those with level 4 access to the fleet database should be e-mailing (or PM) you with questions/problems. No one will start a new fleet database thread lest Derek or other admins fry them to a crisp. Warning to all super enthusiasts: Don't upset our new webdude. -
(http://members.aol.com/chavik/balor/fleet3.html) has been updated to current copyright statement. I had forgotten a "fleet3" url was out there. "Fleet8" is what is registered in the webring. The pages are now identical so I don't see a problem. ShoHashi also e-mailed me with a name change for his page. I altered my links page to reflect the change. Any other changes send my way and I will add or delete links as appropriate.

Read the thread titled Topic of Discussion . It delves into addictions. But to be honest; when I was new to this game and extremely enthusiastic I did refresh the page quite often.

Question about ACM1TOD1
Charles Lindsey replied to Commander Sarkela's topic in Universal Combat Series
Commander Sarkela please edit your original post and see if you can correct the spelling of "Vagabond" in all instances including the post title. -
quote:games are games. it doesn't matter what we play them on.I agree with this for the most part. If it's fun who cares? It could be like the recent movie thread. You Love Good PC games but are not ashamed to dip into a mindless console game. But not all console games are mindless. Well crud. Don't know what to say.

That's everyone then. Well except for Parias. So that's everyone then. Thanks all.

Thanks all. The only one missing is Cruis.In. But only one day into Roll Call . He has a month. Finder1 steadfast as usual. Thanks Finder1. Glad you are back in the groove. Don't feel obligated to be the first to reply though. You broke your pattern last month and I got worried about you. But if you would rather reply at your convenience I understand. PLEASE Don't feel that I am forcing you. WeeGee; good luck in college. Kinda sucks after building that inventory. But College is good. Dreadx I appreciate your enthusiasm. Dreadx accounted for. Pugwashl; cool. Thanks again all. Ya'll are the best.

August already? Wow. Time for Roll Call.

This problem seems vaguely familiar for some reason but it also seems extremely old. Let me think on that. It may be several days before I remember a keyword I can plug into the search function. Perhaps never For now you can do either of two things. #1) Allow the Autopilot to complete its mission. In other words, once you engage autopilot do not disengage autopilot and fly through the gate manually. That defeats the purpose of autopilot IMO. Then target Europa and use shift + 9 to get there. #2) Fly through the gate manually. "L" to activate CVD. "." or "," (period or comma) to cycle to target TO..Jupiter, "F" to assign flight path, shift + 9 and when you get there use thrusters to approach the gate and complete the jump. Once you target Europa use shift + 9 to hyper there. I also notice that in your system profile your product is BCM. I will have to crank that one up and see what's up.

quote:but I kinda already got the impression that there isn't any room for questions that have already been answered somewhere.Oh, that depends. If it is just absolutely, blatantly obvious then probably not. Like if it was covered in the manual or something. There is a new trend here of resurrecting old threads. It's cool sometimes but then again it can bring up outdated info. Good advice about checking the patch version though.
