Did you ever had to send an loved animal away?
Charles Lindsey replied to Epsilon 5's topic in General Chatter
I'm sorry to hear that Epsilon. About two years ago, two days after my birthday, I came home to find my beloved George dead on the back porch. Several dogs had died and we think it was a neighbor changing antifreeze and didn't clean up properly. There are several sympathy poems around but they will make you cry. -
Ok Epsilon. I hope that flame retardent suit is under warranty. You posted just to say that the General Discussion forum is over 30,000 posts? How much of a post count whore are you? Sheesh!

TER/RAI is short for Terran/Raider. You would have wanted TER/INS (Terran/Insurgent). To aim OTS (orbit to surface) missiles use alt + S key combination. When that space region map appears click on the planet until you get the blue box with the observe option. You may have to click near the planet to get a decent zoom level. Once zoomed or "observing" the planet click a politically aligned area. This is what should have the TER/INS. The map will zoom more. Flashing boxes are important. Hover your mouse over those and the one with bases will say something like mzone42/sbase. Click that box and it will zoom more until you see buildings. That is probably what you want. When you see what the briefing told you to destroy click the orange "menu" box at the bottom left of the screen. It will expand up and to the right with various options. The bottom row, last column to the right will say OTS. This box is what you would use to aim the OTS. Click that box and it will expand again. It will have buttons like setpos (set the position or set the target) and launch. CLick the setpos and the reticle (box, cross, or circle) will appear. Move the reticle over the area you wish to destroy and click to set it in position. Then click launch. That should do it. Please note I do not play ACM's. Anyone, even the newest noob, is free to correct me. Hope that helps a little bit jascatar.

Starship Troopers. I was flipping through channels, got one look at Neil Patrick Harris saying "Brain Bug", pursed my lips, blinked a couple times, and kept surfing. Tank Girl was good I thought. Krull. Really bad but interesting for the fact that I saw in an interview. Was the first time in hundreds of years anyone had saddled and ridden Clydesdales. Blurb about the Clydales. Seems to me there was a lot of hype about this one. And an old Sci Fi movie where John Boy Walton was the hero. Not really John Boy but the Actor you know who. That's about all I can think of. Well you could try Existenz. Weird little multi layered film about virtual reality. Or The Cube. Genius's/specialists in different fields are thrown into a 1000 story tall cube and must navigate the deadly hazards in each room to escape. But that's it. Really.

Question about... disabled crafts
Charles Lindsey replied to kschang's topic in Universal Combat Series
DISABLED does not mean totally incapacitated. They may still be able to flee as you have seen. quote:Kasey Chang Apparently PTA seems to leave most fighters alive enough to run away, yet too fast for shuttles to tow. Nope. PTA shoots at enemies. What you are failing to take into account is the fact that you may not be close enough for the PTA to get a good hit every time. The enemy can go into an SOS/disabled state at these times thus it is no longer an enemy thereby causing your PTA to shut down for that craft. quote:RM i'm sure there's some sort of directive against opting to destroy crippled craft There is no such restriction against you personally destroying any craft. quote: RM (besides, they self-destruct after a while unless i'm mistaken)I think you are mistaken RM. Crippled yet functional craft try to flee, even if they are barely functional. If their intregity is too corrupt/low they may "self destruct" later. I have said before. BCMG is not pass/fail. Too many variables throughout the game. Unless you consider live/die as pass/fail then yes. -
quote:Blades,Chavik you're (gulp) ...right. Oh, no, dear Race. I wouldn't even begin to think of having the barest inkling of taking the most minscule part of credit for that. Blades is the one that saw it. I would never see it in the first place. I generally don't like anything based on a true story or loosely based on facts. I live real life; why would I want to go watch someone else's? Just tell me a good story. Preferably in space.
-
Stolen directly from Blades' post in Night at the Movies - T3 thread. What movies are not enticing enough to you to go see in the theatre but you would rent them? And the follow up which ones would you not even rent but might catch on cable? And/or recommend to others "wait for the rental" or "wait till it comes on cable"? Blades has a couple good candidates. Hulk: I might rent Daredevil: I might rent 2Fast2Furious: Maybe cable

Well, the celocanth was found to still be a living species.

The same way a newspaper picture with terrible resolution fools the eye into composing a complete picture in your brain. Stand about eight or ten feet away and it looks even better.

Race still doesn't get it. Notice that I left your first rant alone. That was perfectly valid. I took exception to your second rant where you slammed the movies you mentioned then offered up more of the same. I feel you compared apples to apples when your second post made it seem like you were comparing coal to diamonds. Let me do what I feel you did. "I will not see Dumb and Dumber. I hate movies that cater to the absolute lowest denominator in society. I will go rent Weekend at Bernie's. " Some could argue that Weekend at Bernie's also caters to the lowest denominator in society. Perhaps rightfully so. But by saying first that Dumb and dumber caters to the lowest denominator in society, and by then saying I will go rent Weekend at Bernie's instead, I imply Weekend at Bernie's is better. That's the way I read your second rant. You slammed standard summer fare and then offered up more standard summer fare. Not a good comparison. If perhaps you had mentioned the films you mentioned above then maybe I wouldn't have pounced on that second post. Then again maybe I would have. To late to tell now. As for your third post (the one above) that is valid as well. I'm glad you enjoy films with substance. Your views are your own and perfectly acceptable. Reply if you wish. I'm not mad at you and my argument is about wound down. Off topic anyway and I can't keep dragging T3 into to it to give lip service to staying on topic.

These are the only ones in existence. The deck pics were scrapped when the ability to choose any ship was implemented. Too many to do.

Question about... finding lost mining drones
Charles Lindsey replied to kschang's topic in Universal Combat Series
quote: and optimum deployment pattern of drones. Exactly. And my hint that just stick 'em where you start from. And the other inherent implication that you should really remember where they are. quote:The second one did not come up until the second page when I searched for "mining drone", which is probably why I didn't see it. Ermmm, you lost your drones, titled your thread lost drones, and only searched for mining drone? quote:It's difficult finding the right search words... You'd thought that "mining drone" is specific enough... That would bring up every reference to mining drone. Adding the modifier "lost" restricts it much further. -
Question about... finding lost mining drones
Charles Lindsey replied to kschang's topic in Universal Combat Series
Been discussed before. http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...c;f=25;t=000242 http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...c;f=25;t=000253 It appears someone is not using the search function. -
Here is an interesting opinion piece from Fool.com about music downloading and the RIAA.

Certainly 21 but I got to be naked for that. You know I'm troll bait. Troll like that and I'm gonna respond. You admit you haven't seen them yet slam them anyway. By bringing up the "triple digit IQ crowd", you insinuate that T3 and Charlie's Angels are of such poor quality only mindless idiots would watch them. Then you bring up three more movies that are seemingly of the same quality yet these somehow would appeal to the triple digit IQ crowd. 28 Days Later - Remake of Night of the living Dead. Zombies appeal to the triple digit IQ crowd? Pirates of the Carribean - Inspired by a Disney World ride and Johnny Depp plays the pretty pirate. Truly wonderful cinema in the making. Bend it like Beckham - Like I said. ABC Movie of the Week . Poor little girl wants to play soccer. T3 was ok. Not Star Wars, Not T1 but ok. Cars cannot drive themselves. And I've already mentioned the homage thing. I won't be seeing Charlie's Angels either. Humor looks too cheesy. I certainly won't go see Bend it Like Beckham. A friend likes the Bajeesuss scared out of her so I might go see 28 Days Later. She also wants to see Johnny Depp as the pretty pirate. If you're going to rail against da hollywood man at least rail against something that is truly insipid like Dumb and Dumber and/or Dumb and Dumberer.

Of all things, just this morning, some local DJ's got a radio interview with the guy who plays John Connor and I heard it. He has signed up for T4 and T5. Arnold may or may not be in them but he is really fit. And of course just because dude signed up doesn't mean they (T4/T5) would be made but interesting none the less.

BC3000AD ver 2.0 GBS script .
Charles Lindsey replied to Joaquin's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
Some of the new commands are buried in the BCM Version Control File if I remember correctly. Doesn't help if you don't have the GBS but you could study them I suppose. http://www.3000ad.com/downloads/bcm/bcmvcf.html Use GBS as the search string because in one instance it's GBS-II Revisions and in another it is GBS parser/interpreter updates -
Race rants against hollywood and offers up a harem scare 'em, a spook 'em, and an ABC Movie of The Week ???? Way to flex those three digits. (sarcasm)

As in another thread about games you can always wait a week or so then go on a Sat or Sun early matinee. Or an oddball night like Tues. I went to see this movie Sat at 2:35. It was more crowded than I thought it would be. I suppose because it was openeing weekend. Thank goodness I took an outside aisle seat. I didn't have to sit next to some creepy stranger.

And if the machines win we then have The Matrix. (Think about it, hehe) Don't ya just love time loop paradox's? 8/10 That homage to the first film was a bit much. The rest was pretty good. "She'll be back" was a good line but too late. "Talk to the hand" Ughhh I hate that mannerism. Even in real life. Really detracted from the movie. It can't hold a candle to Hasta la vista baby. quote:But given his age and the time it took to go from T2 to T3, it is highly unlikely that Arnold will be in it.Perhaps not. But I read on Entertainment Weekly (now exclusively on AOL sucks for ya'll and me since I can 't back it up) that Arnold had to sink some of his own money in it to get it finished. Wonder how it's doing? Edit in: from associated press 1. ''Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,'' $44 million. 2. ''Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,'' $22.9 million. 3. ''Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle,'' $14.2 million. 4. ''Finding Nemo,'' $11 million. 5. ''The Hulk,'' $8.2 million. 6. ''Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas,'' $6.8 million. 7. ''28 Days Later,'' $6.1 million. 8. ''The Italian Job,'' $4.3 million. 9. ''Bruce Almighty,'' $4 million. 10. ''2 Fast 2 Furious,'' $2.4 million.
