I guess people missed my post in this thread, since it was a little late to the topic, but our efforts to prevent the Czech nation from dying out have succeeded for a third time. The due date is probably sometime around the middle of May, they can't tell very precisely when it'll be because my wife has only had two cycles in the past 18 months, so a pretty miraculous pregnancy, and the timing is perfect, as our youngest will be just under 3 when the new one is born. Btw, our youngest just had his first game of AWA today, and he was most impressed. We flew to the 'nice big ball' (earth), watched the pretty fire enveloping our 'airplane' (Garid) as we entered the atmosphere (he asked for 'more fire daddy') we landed among the trees and got out, then switched to 3rd person view and watched the 'man walking and running', and then 'flying in the sky' (with his jetpack). Not bad for a two-year-old, eh?

I have issued the first team challenge of the new season for the dates given in my previus post, i.e. 20th November at 7.30pm GMT or 4th December at 7pm GMT. I have issued the challenge to team Alpha Wing and selected the Death Match as the match type. This challenge has not (yet) been accepted, but I will keep you posted. The only person who turned up today was Marc, there will be another session the same time tomorrow, which I hope more people will come to.

OK, thank you to Nomad for generously sending me a copy of The Bible Unearthed to review. I've finally got through it (it took me a while), and I have managed to save up enough (and justify to my wife) to order a couple of other interesting (so I'm told) scholarly titles in this area, On the Reliability of the Old Testament by K.A. Kitchen and A Test of Time: The Bible - from Myth to History by David Rohl (published in the US as Pharaohs and Kings : A biblical Quest) (both over 600 pages long- am I insane?!!), that will be arriving at around the end of the month. There's a lot I could say about The Bible Unearthed, and we could spend months or years discussing minor points, but I have one question: Would there be any point? I mean, what is the major issue for you, which arguments do you consider to be decisive and crucial to the whole equation? Believe it or not, I don't actually enjoy endlessly discussing and researching irrelevant questions. Research can be fun at times, but it is also exhausting and there are other ways I can spend my spare time. If this subject is important to you, then tell me what the major issue(s) is/are for you and let's take it from there, but if this is just a purely intellectual exercise, then you can count me out. Up to you.

I just remembered I can't make the 27th (my brother and sister (and spouses) are coming to visit, so let's go for the 20th. Would the 19th be an acceptable alternative day (I see it wouldn't be for Marc from the duel thread)? Yes, Marc that's what this thread is for. Prez, when can you make a session (since you feel most in need of some training)? Basically any day you can make 7pm GMT onwards I'll be able to make (except for a Thursday or Monday) and Jack could probably make those other days, so just tell us a day and we'll make sure someone is there. For the sake of clarity, tomorrow at 7pm GMT will be an official training session. I'll probably make it a Death Match to start with, to keep things simple for everyone.

btw, in AWA the 'Eye in the Sky' match type is no longer balanced, if the AWACS craft are deployed as described in the match ROE. This is because raider stations are no longer neutral to Insurgents, so the Insurgent AWACS would have no available safe haven, and allowing it to move to Rovarix would put it too close to the GALCOM side's starting point. A solution to this would be to allow the AWACS craft to roam wherever they want and deploy together with their forces. This could be Tapestran and Galadran as in teh original scenario to make for more tactical options, or Junae and Rovarix to make for a more intense encounter. Opinions, please.

OK, since stations are now destructible in AWA mp, I thought up a little fun we might have with that: System Domination It puts a little more strain on the umpire than usual, but itÔÇÖs the only way to score station kills accurately IMO. It'd be nice to keep it double-blind as to the opponent's precise deployment strategy (which stations they deploy from), but if it's too much hassle, we can cut that out. ***WARNING*** Please note, this is only a match ROE proposal, not the final version and subject to change. Only match types listed in the MP handbook can be used for team match challenges. ***END WARNING*** Any feedback would be appreciated.

You are guaranteed to not get AWA, so what's to wait and see? The only possible thing you'll get from Amazon (if anything) will be an old copy of UC, which they have misidentified as AWA, and which you already have.
