  1. OK, does the timer start from when you deploy, or from when you announce that you are ready? Also, are you allowed to send any of your shuttles through jumpgates/wormholes ahead of your CC, or not (I assume not)?
  2. Anyone else want to challenge me at another time this month? otherwise I'll issue more challenges myself.
  3. You haven't added your system profile to your signature, that's why your thread was deleted. Without that info, we can't help you locate the problem. You also haven't stated which version of the game you are using, which also makes a huge difference. Please correct these two issues and we can start helping you.
  4. OK, I'm assuming the time today is no good for Chavik. I'll go and have lunch, then
  5. OK, some other time, then. Chavik, response? Other time offer? Boran Zavok (Demolition) challenges Courtney Cox (Alpha) to a duel at 1900 GMT on Wednesday 20th April or at 1830 GMT on Saturday 23rd April cloaking permission to be decided by the challengee.
  6. the best thing about this connection is there is no data limit and less lag than on dial-up. My ping time is down from 225-325 to 150-210. The fact that it's only 20 bucks a month is a big bonus too, the cheapest I've seen of any permanent connection in this country. AnywayMarc has set up a little server for us (thank you Marc) and wants to get a few of us together to stress-test it. Four is probably all it can handle, but if we get more than that, we can try with reduced bandwidth settings. I'm meeting him at 1130 GMT on Sunday, and will be around from 1830-2000 GMT if anyone else wants to sharpen their skills at that time. Any takers should PM me or Marc for info on how to connect to his server. [ 04-15-2005, 11:19 AM: Message edited by: Ben Zwycky ]
  7. Why doesn't one (or two) of you create an AAE and join team Spectre? They're struggling for numbers at the moment. You wouldn't need to supply three regular commanders, since they already have two members.
  8. Ben Zwycky (Praetorian) challenges Chavik (Balor Fleet) to a duel at 1130 GMT on Saturday 16th April or at 1730 GMT on Saturday 23rd April cloaking permission to be decided by the challengee I demand satisfaction! Boran Zavok (Demolition) challenges Marvin (Alpha) to a duel at 1900 GMT on Wednesday 20th April or at 1830 GMT on Saturday 23rd April cloaking permission to be decided by the challengee. So, would you like to play in the cloaking or non-cloaking section? UFN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WARNING: CLOAKING CAUSES CANCER GALCOM ACADEMY MEDICAL CORPS WARNING: CLOAKING KILLS, BUT NOT AS FAST AS ENEMY GUNS
  9. I thought it would be good to create a thread for all Fleet League duel challenges, to make it easier to keep track of how may duels each AE has fought each month (a maximum of two duels per AE per month). We can also report the results here to keep things neat. For clarity, we should use a defined format for the challenges: AE name (Team Name) challenges AE name (Team Name) to a duel at time (GMT) on date or at time (GMT) on date cloaking will not be permitted/will be permitted/ cloaking permission to be decided by the challengee I demand satisfaction! The challengee will either accept, decline, or offer a different time I will always leave the cloaking decision to the other guy, since I don't mind either way. This question is always to be agreed on by the two players taking part in the duel, as Remo stated in another thread. For those wishing to challenge me, I am usually available for challenges Tuesday to Saturday 1730-2000 GMT, probably Saturday and Sunday 1130-1230 GMT. Sunday evenings are normally taken up with a fleet match, but if not, 1830-2000 GMT. I'm busy this Saturday evening, but am otherwise free.
  10. All clear, sounds very reasonable. I'll be issuing my first duel challenge soon.
  11. maybe they'll pick up on it sometime, 150/150 is still good enough. I'm going out today, so no ad hoc training session tonight. Sorry. Probably Friday night, though.
  12. OK, I though two per AE, so I meant four per month in total, which seemed like a lot to me, in addition to all the fleet matches. any news on the cloaking issue (makes no difference to me, just nice to know)?
  13. The fp weapons are very different in UC from BCM:G, most of them do have a rapid fire mode. They are also arranged differently (e.g. the weapon selection numbers are not specific to a particular weapon, just the the primary and secondary weapon you happen to be carrying (you choose which ones at the start game screen). In the manual appendix, you can see them listed, together with their firing rates (amongst other info), it's only the launchers, sniper rifles and shotguns that don't have a rapid fire mode It's not a bug.
  14. Well, Ben Zwycky and Boran Zavok will be laying down (or accepting ) as many challenges as possible. Who is the official scorekeeper? That's going to be a whole lot of ing going on Who's first?
  15. well, the news with my connection is pretty good. They gave us 2 IP's, each with its own 150/150 connection that are 90% independent of each other, so that we (me and wife) don't get in each other's way with bandwidth. The really good news, is that they forgot to limit the IP they put on my computer to 150/150, so it's currently running at... well, check my system profile [ 04-14-2005, 08:45 AM: Message edited by: Ben Zwycky ]
  16. check your email (I assume the adress in your fleet profile is correct) We'll make a killer of you yet
  17. Never mind, I just missed it. we were transferring all my old emails across from the old computer to the new, and it was among the flood team CIOPS created, and first two membership invites sent out (both transfers from team Praetorian), one more invite sent out for Team Praetorian. (There'll be another invite sent out to each team at least, as soon as the relevant members of ISS register at Galcom HQ ) That makes 8, possibly 9 team members, with only 2 (or 3) not reliably active at the moment. It almost makes me think I'm doing a good job [ 04-13-2005, 10:25 AM: Message edited by: Ben Zwycky ]
  18. thank you. Anyone else?
  19. OK, that's pretty similar to me (we're in the same time zone). With my new connection, I'm available from 17.30-2000 GMT Tuesday to Saturday and from 18.30-2000 on Sundays, and also in theory from 1100-1230 every day, but that's a whole lot less reliable. (I need to get to bed on time 'cause my boys usually get me up way too early) Oh, Sykes, please be more specific than all day long, give us times GMT, like Marc and I did, so we can know when to arrange training sessions and when we can put together a valid team for matches. Anyone want to help me stress-test my new connection ? [ 04-13-2005, 10:10 AM: Message edited by: Ben Zwycky ]
  20. OK, I need everyone in ISS who wants to take part in multiplayer this year to be registered at Galcom HQ Use your Commander Name as your username there. We're going to create a second ISS team (team CIOPS) and reorganise team members according to their wings.
  21. Sounds cool. How do we challenge an individual player to a duel? Also, I saw no mention of cloaking in the ROE in the handbook. Is that permitted in the duel ROE, or not? [ 04-13-2005, 08:51 AM: Message edited by: Ben Zwycky ]
  22. you can't win 'em all... If it's meant to be, she'll get back to you. She may just be a little overwhelmed and not know how to respond.
  23. It should have been an official match, but the other team didn't have enough people, so we had an unofficial deathmatch-type engagement, and the other team forfeited as far as scoring in the league table was concerned. Check your PM.
