At the very least, he asked. Rather than the proverbial "Candidates for Airlock Duty" who just post a new thread prior to reading the forum rules of engagement.

JIMINY CHRISTMAS ! ! ! Here we go again! More people taking offense. It's getting to the point of being sickening, which is way past ludicrous. Anyone care to wager that this person, who finds the verbage in the pledge offensive, has no problem whatsoever accepting twenty dollar bills as payment for his services?, Nor does he have any problem spending said monies? Yup, that's absolutely correct, U.S. currency has the words In God We Trust tattooed on every bill. (GASP!) I'm sure our atheist friends are working diligently to get that changed too. Believe it or not, (it's up to the individual perusing these words, you're mileage may vary) it has been, and always will be this nations steadfast belief in God that has made it the nation it is. The minute we toss God into the garbage can the tribulation will follow. World government. Loss of freedom. Etc. Etc. I have always tried to live with this philosophy... "Offense can not be given unless taken " So, if you find the use of the word God in our everyday lives offensive-IGNORE IT OR MOVE! Your choice. Ahh Freedom. Ain't it great? There are plenty of oppressive countries more than willing to tell you what to do and how to live. And I guarantee the very second you start bellyaching about the way they are running your life, they will send a nice little goon squad to your house to persuade you to see their point of view. At least in the good ol' U.S.of A. you have the right to voice your opinions. But the minute you start forcing it down everyone elses throat, then you are as wrong as you can possibly be! If you don't want to hear it, siddown, shaddup, and put your fingers in your ears. [ 06-27-2002, 05:19 PM: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Welcome to the ULTIMATE in AI programming. How smart are the marines you send on away missions? The stupid ones tend to forget about turning on life support. It's a Resnig thing.

SC, As always, your approach to movie rating is logical and fair. Thanks for the heads up on this bomb, as I was considering going to see it, however... I use a slightly different criteria in determining whether a movie is worth the cash in my wallet... "TV Ads" I can usually tell if a movie is going to be good or bad by how much they hype it in television commercials. It seems the more it's hyped on TV, the worse it is. This one was advertised no less than six times one recent evening while Milady and I viewed one of the recent classics. The red flag went up. My guess is it will hit the Sci-Fi channel in about 3 months. Price of admission: One monthly cable bill.

On station and ready to rock when MP gets here. Behave Elio. That was pretty good English for a native German. Pity most English speaking people can't do that well.

Save your money...Drive the legal speed limit. Speed limits are not set to slow you down or inconvenience you. They are there for a reason. To protect you and the rest of the motoring public. If you wish to drive fast, build yourself a race car and do it on a track. Radar detectors and jammers are illegal in every state and Canada. As a professional driver of Commercial Motor Vehicles, I see people speeding every day, and I see the results of their impatience. Nine times out of ten the result is the death of someone who is totally innocent. I hope you never have to be witness to a minivan loaded with kids, spread all over the highway because some speeding lunatic cut them off short and caused their vehicle to roll into the median. Oh, and please wear your seatbelt.

Well, it appears from the results of the poll that the point is moot. When I played Air Warrior from a 56k connection I was always getting spanked by the guys running on the faster connections, even though they had the proverbial "smoothing code" built in, It didn't work as intended. After finally gaining access to the net via DSL those spankings were reversed, except for the guys who were running on T-1's and T-3's. They were the only bullies who could eat my lunch. I see no valid arguement in desegregating connection speeds. Keeping the playing field level for all participants is the only way to maximize the experience for all. Otherwise you will have the typical "Elite Speed" players thrashing the slower connections to the point of losing interest. There is nothing more annoying than seeing a red screen of death when you think you are the only entity in the area. I for one could never buy that "He came at you from out of the sun" garbage. For those who voted no I would strongly suggest you try learning a little more about the subject before going off half cocked.

I'm still here. The aforementioned career change has been completed and my first assignment (27 days) is now behind me. I am now ready willing and able to cause as many headaches for the Gammulans as I can when MP becomes a reality.

I love the translations on that website. The description on one of the screen shots mentions Smut in Space? Maybe some of the Wayward guys ended up on their development team. Got any Tankhovats? Go fish my little Babuschka. [ 04-25-2002, 20:24: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Abandonware: The Issue, The Games, The Gamers, The Creators
Wolferz replied to a topic in General Chatter
One important note regarding Abandonware: If the software comes with a EULA, it's not Abandonware, and can therefore be considered pirated. Like Mr. Silverman stated in his answer to the question, there may be sections of code within the software that were written and copyrighted by other individuals or companies who still hold the license for that code and may still hold a binding contract for royalties. Tracking down developers and/or publishers for permission to distribute out of production code is pragmatic at best. Personally, I would consider any software, whether it's out of production or not, pirated if it doesn't contain some type of freeware statement wtihin the files. I'm still here Just waiting in the wings for MP, not to mention prepping to change careers, keeping Milady smiling, and other such drivel. I haven't participated in the Wargames due to continued testing on each patch release. When MP does arrive..... Well, I ain't saying.

Rant on virtual stupid and moronic behavior
Wolferz replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Chatter
There are ways to cure those folks from speaking that way. Print their brand new computer manual in leet, before it's translated from Japanese to English. Add programming to the PC that prints everything in leet on the screen. The instruction for removing it will be placed in some obscure section of the previously mentioned manual. Require all information on the warranty card to be written in leet, which will guarantee that the technical support staff will be unable to find their registration, much less help them when the previously mentioned problem arises. Oh by the way, when one refers to the spelling of a particular english word, one should consider which side of the pond one lives. Whether it be Color or Colour. You say Po-Tay-Toe. I say Po-Tah_Toe. If you find fault, go shove your motto. Laughing Out Loud -

Well Ladies and Germs, That little diatribe was definitely an April Fools joke, since that link goes nowhere now. So how many of you took that bait hook, line, and Resnig?

All they need to do is advertise in flight meals as being strictly pork. When the next bozo tries to hi-jack the plane, the stewardi could throw the chops at them.

Congrats on a great score. I would tell you what I received on the last ASVAB I took, but you would probably cry. So I won't. FYI for DREDD: The ASVAB is a battery of generalized knowledge tests covering every subject you were required to take in high school. The SCORE that J Smith alludes to above is actually a percentile of all the people in the country who have taken the exam and takes into account the particular education level of the person being tested. So, if JSmith has only a high school education, then JSmith's percentile score is for all people with a high school education who have taken the test. You tell 'em DS. LOL One odd note: I didn't see a review for BCM on that site. Are they still working on it? Hopefully they will spend enough time in game to give it an accurate diatribe.
