  1. Unless someone has come up with a method for upstream communications to the satellite, all you're going to get is a fast downstream connection. The upstream side is still going to rely on the good ol' telephone network and your snail of a modem.
  2. This is Real Time space combat. If you can't do the time, you shouldn't have spent the dime. Actually it's a really good incentive to not get your ship torn up. Training your crew in a less travelled area and upgrading your systems will go far in reducing the down time. Good luck.
  3. I just checked out that demo. Interactive TV show for sure! I would agree the graphics aren't that great, but hey, it's Activision we're talking about here. I'm sure they are targeting a specific market of pre-teens and young adolescents who probably won't have access to top of the line equipment, with this title. But it's still kewler than frog legs in a frying pan. LOL
  4. I did basic and A school at Lostinthewoods.

I was also the Company NBC NCO for awhile, which wasn't bad. During field maneuvers it was my primary task to guard the CO. LOL Got me out of field KP. ;-) My term of service was from 1987 thru 1993. Delta Co. was disbanded late in 93. We were the reserve round out company for the 19th. Almost went to Saudi during that little Kuwait thing, but S-3 figured it would take too long to get us ready, so we got left behind, even though the Battalion Commander wanted us with him. But we did support the effort to get the 19th over there and I have the National Defense Ribbon to show for it. quote: heh we did some training in ft. wainright, edmonton alberta. the canucks definitely knew their stuff. didnt see any women though... women werent aloud in combat arms then. we went into wainright city to he pub, and first thing Top told us was to NOT mess with the brits that were there lol. we took his advice needless to say That's where we were. Just a few buildings and a whole lot of prairie dogs. And the Canucks did have women in their ranks at the time. Circa 1993. He didn't make Top Sgt for being a dummy. ;-)
  6. Wow, small world. 62Everything. D Co, 19th EN BN, Fort Knox. Played in Canada with some of them Charlies and the Canadien Army. Great bunch of guys and some really fugly women in thier army. LOL
  7. Although Mr Rorschach was brutally honest in his opinion, I have but one thing to say regarding his review.... Parse [ 02-08-2002, 10:43: Message edited by: Wolferz ]
  8. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Cmdr WeeGee looks just like..... RESNIG! Kinda fits I think. ROTFLMAO
  9. My thoughts: Keeping up with two seperate channels of comms chatter is difficult, especially when RL pursuits keep one very busy. Add beta testing BCM to the equation and the sum is bound to come up negative. Add to that a short notice roll call and you will more than likely find many members getting the boot. This is not a good thing for the fleet or BCM in general. I would also like to see a UBB forum for the fleet that does not include ads of any kind. If that requires dues, I have no problem with it.
  10. Anyone remember the Sinclair Quantum Leap? Vintage 1972 stuff. LOL Motorola 68000 processor. 16k of onboard memory. Twin Tape Drives. (It was little video tapes the size of a matchbook) As I remember, Timex bought a warehouse full of them, slapped their name on it, and never sold the first one. I still have one ... somewhere. 13. $ilk, I just read the other thread. Oh boy. Since the SC questioned the new thread, I decided to post my answer here. Number 1: Forget going to the recruiting commander. That will get you nowhere. Call the Judge Advocate Generals office. I guarantee the problem will be handled by those folks. Number 2: Gather all the evidence you can find before you call JAG.
  14. I rest my case. Previews will do more for a game than reviews. I guess that's why movies and television shows live and die by the preview. Reviews, at best, are tainted by the reviewers general feelings and experiences. True they are not all bad. If the review is written in an intelligent and unbiased fashion, without accusatory and derogatory remarks, then it is worth it's weight in gold for the sale of a game. But to reduce ones opinion to the point of name calling and libelous accusation, will leave the Shirleys of the world slobbering with glee, and most likely turn off any would be buyers. If it were me, any and all libelous slander would be met with the business end of a Barrister(sp). Don't get me wrong though. I'm all about freedom of the press. But with that freedom comes the responsibility of telling the truth. The review in question fell far short of that goal.
  15. FWIW, Personally, I consider reviews of any kind, a total load of hogwash. They are provided for those among us who have neither curiosity or imagination. That's right folks, reviews are written for the braindead. I am not inclined to allow someone else make judgements for me on any subject, and I'm relatively sure my peers here feel the same. With that said, I suggest we all send a letter to the editors stating the following.. "You have no dance. Make your slime." "All your face are belong to pus." "Take off every Zit. For great Complexion." [ 01-21-2002: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

  20. That was a review? *note to self* Send cheese.
  21. I have to say SC, the fellow was spot on with that review. Did you notice the little ad for the equipment used to review BCM?
  22. quote: Originally posted by insecttoid3: you will be able to command a station in BCM XP1 i believe True... But you can't move it. However, I did experience a small glitch in the early beta testing where I was somehow switched from my CC to the GalCom Station. I still had my bridge view, but the external view was GC HQ. I was thinking, "Oh boy will those Gammies be surprised!" I hyperjumped it out to the Mars gate, but it wouldn't fit through it. LOL It was a wild sight to say the least.
  23. I want a Deathstar loaded with Bugnors.
