  2. 1. What time zone did you land in? It's usually quite dark on the backside of a moon. 2. Some moons do have atmoshperes. 3. It's an anomaly and is currently under investigation by the SC and us'ns. 4. Find some quiet little corner of the galaxy and train up your crew. A smarter crew is better able to deal with intruders. Besides, the BCM universe isn't sitting still. The planets are rotating around their suns, and the moons rotate around their planets. So why ruin a dynamic universe with a flat plane graphic?

  6. I would bet that your shiny new artifacts are sitting in the cargo hold waiting for your RE to finish researching. Once that is accomplished, your SE's should be able to install the upgrades. note: Do not dock with a station during artifact installation.
  7. Sadistic, You should be able to zoom all the way down to a relatively small chunk of the planet. Set all your WPS there, along with the deploy order, then launch your shuttles from the TACOPS menu. If you watch that plot of land long enough, you will see your shuttle's FPI as it drops off the drones. You should then see Target Scan icons for the drones. If you left click on one of those, the camera should zoom in to the drone. When you return to the planet to pick up the drones, zoom in to the general area where you left them, tilt the view and pan around until you find the drone icons, left click on one and you should zoom right to it. Then you can set a WP to retrieve it. When I deploy drones, I never use more than one WP. The shuttle will return automatically after executing the drop or recovery.
  8. Docking with a station while you have active intruders on board will only put them in your Detention Hold. The station sends over a compliment of intruder busters to lock them up for you. Leaving the station and redocking will transfer the prisoners from the Brig. "Et voie la" Intruders gone.
  9. Cheats? We Don Need No Steenking Cheats.
  10. quote: As for launching missiles are SFMs. Man, thats just sick. Who needs missiles? I plaster them all over the front of the CC, then put in a call to the Janitorial Fleet. [ 11-22-2001: Message edited by: Wolferz ]
  11. JJ, Experience is gained by destroying/capturing your enemies. Put your shuttles to work towing all those disabled and SOS ships back to your home station.

  14. They aren't on the standard map of the universe. The IA missions occur in their own little galaxy.
  15. I dunno, Jag. Not a clue as to why he likes the manual so much. But hey, I really like the manual too. I mean I REALLLLLY like it. So far so good, SC. I received my copy this morning at 11:38 EST and it ROCKS! That spit and polish really did the trick and nary a problem or a glitch to be seen on my system. But of course I have all the latest drivers. "Someone set us up the bomb." "You have no chance, make your time" "All your detractions are belong to us" In you face Shirleyboy! bahhahahahahaha. From what I have seen of the noob probs, the majority are merely loose nuts behind the keyboard. I guess you'll have to open a hardware education thread. LOL Standing room only. Let me push the button. Can I, huh? Can I? Again Derek, my heartiest appreciation and congratulations to you and the entire 3000AD team. Success is definitely knocking at the door. Too bad the detractors only got to the first syllable. They be sucking Crow now.
  16. It takes a great deal of time and effort to train your crew and add all the little perks to your CC. Let's just call it an incentive not to explode. If you do, it's game over and you start anew.
  17. I believe it's called "Ludicrous Stop"

  20. DOH! Smack me with a Tuna. The ship should continue to climb with afterburners engaged. Did you have the bow pointed straight up?
  21. Melanie650, Please post your problem in the Video Issues thread, along with a full list of your PC's specifications. Thanks
  22. At @ 30k to 32k feet, the weight of your ship and the pull of gravity reach a peak. Hit the afterburners until you reach 35k feet, then hit the "O" key to break "O"rbit. Some friendly advice for all of our new Commanders.... RTFM Read The Fine Manual. Read All of The On Disc Documentation. Enjoy
  23. By Jove, I think he's got it. Speedguide is a very good resource. Welcome to the fast lane, Paddy.
  24. quote: Originally posted by Game_Ender: Wolferz, are those attempts to hack into your computer or just probes on your IP address? There is a difference between someone searching for a IP to hack and trying to break into the computer or network the IP represents. Any probe on your ports could be an attempt to break-in to your system. With Zone Alarm, for all intensive purposes, my PC just isn't there. It doesn't answer any ping or echo requests that were not initiated from my system, which is the first step for any hacker who is running a scanning program. What's really fun is the fact that a hacker can run scans for open ports on my IP and never receive a response, which makes his little scanner program run oh so slow. Zone Alarm will ask you for permission to access the internet with any program that requires it. You can then set it to remember the choice. I have played many an online game with no problems whatsoever. I have a three PC LAN set-up in my home, all using the same external DSL modem (connected through a 10/100 NIC, using PPPoE) through my machine. Fifty bucks a month for 680 Kbps downstream and 160 Kbps upstream. Downtime is rare. Schweet! I will NEVER go back to dial-up. In fact, my PC doesn't have a dial-up modem at all. Windows ICS has been removed from all of them, (Which plugs that gaping hole that Unckie Bill gave us) opting instead for Sygate LAN Manager. Compared to others that I have tried, it works.
  25. Another Hot Tip for Paddy.... Get a Firewall up as soon as possible. I use Zone Alarm. There isn't a day that goes by that Zone Alarm doesn't log at least 500 break-in attempts on my IP address.
