Uh..huh That's real encouraging to join Wraith In any case, I'd rather be this guy!
-
I've really considered Wraith fleet.I'm willing to work hard and earn a command position eventualy. I'm not a freeloader and don't plan on being deadweight to a fleet.
-
Hmm...gotta think about it for a while. Thanks -EDIT If I signed up for the command position, I'd probably get a garbage scow [ 09-14-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]

I've visited a few websites for different fleets, and I've considered joining one. I have excellent skills as a marine(from playing StarSiege: Tribes), I have adequete skills as a pilot(from playing X-Wing Alliance and FreeSpace 2), and I have overall good command skills(from playing Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, and of course BC3K ). So if any fleet needs a new member, there's one right here. Why does this remind me of my past... *FLASHBACK SEQUENCE* "We'll take...him" "Cool! I call shortstop!" "Pick me! Pick me!" "Go home, Wilco" "Mommy, how come all the other kids get new mops and I don't?"

So far it seems like the only reason to gather resources with mining drones is to sell them for money. But, the more GalCreds you can get, the closer to that R.A.N.D.O.M.... If I'm not mistaken, GCO will use the existing features in BCM, but use new ones, like buildable structures, internal levels, etc. I bet the developement of GCO will be much shorter than BCM, since the engine is essentialy finished.

This place needs something like what we have over at the Star Wars Galaxies message boards, the NWW(newbie welcome wagon). Essentialy, they... 1. Tell newbies to read the faq 2. Tell them to post in the gender poll and the "What's the story behind your handle?" thread. 3. Most importantly... N00b! N00b! N00b! 4. Tell them to grab a free virtual T-Shirt which shows TrooperBob saying,"Look sir, n00bs!" [ 09-09-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]

Something you don't see everyday.....
R_wilco replied to Commander Elio Jason's topic in General Chatter
Thargoids? My friend had those surgicly removed last summer... (Yes, I have played Elite and it's incredible sequels, j/k ) -
I can just see trying to throw a grenade on a high-gravity planet: Marine: Take this you Gammulan scum! *throws grenade* THUD Marine: Umm...AGHHH!
-
The planets do not revolve around the sun, for 2 reasons. 1, the sun is a static graphic in space. 2, the "planet" spacial zone is just that, a cube-shaped zone with a planet and some other stuff in it. I think this issue was addressed in the thread titled "Travel to stars?" or something similar

I didn't intend my comment to be an insult, I was just curious, as "purchased" implies actualy buying a game box
-
Ent1ty, exactly WHAT game did you purchase in July? BC3K?

Purchased WHAT game in July? BC3k?

I am forced to disagree, I've played X-wing, Tie Fighter, XvT, and X-Wing Alliance, and in all of them, it is the IMPERIAL class So there
-
Wow Luc, I am VERY impressed...except that you called it the "Imperator" class and not IMPERIAL class, which it's normaly called

Well, I don't know much about modeling...I guess one of those posts where I was half-awake
-
Speaking of interiors, I had an insight on creating building interiors today. Anyone play Starsiege: Tribes? You may have noticed that, in the bases, the base itself is NOT part of the map per se, but rather a floating object. All the "rooms" in the bases are sculpted out of the model itself, kind of like the cargo bay in the model of the BC MK2. I was thinking that it would be relatively simple to apply this to BCM, just create new building models with internal levels built into the model.

I'll tell you what's so freakin awesome! This has been said about 5000 times, but I want to say it again, because the other day, it finaly hit me in the face so hard I fell out of my chair. As much or as little is controllable by the player as they want! Think about that, really think, for a second. You can control your alter ego's inventory, your craft, career, caste, etc. But then go farther. You can be the one taking the orders or the one giving them, it's up to you. But don't stop there. Tired of BCM's built in scenarios, or tired of roaming the galaxy? GBSII(Correct me if I'm wrong here),gives the player the ability to create scenarios, create space and planetary enviroments, and with more learning and practice, create models and textures for the game. Complete control. THAT'S what makes it so awesome.

I have an intel celeron sysem too Even worse, I have intel integrated video! But I had that same problem. What I did was(without using 3dFX) upgrade my BC3K to 2.09(I have the 2.0 CD), then edit the game's batch file, bc3k.bat, so the line for the game looked like this: bc3000ad.exe /v1 Thus setting the video vard to standard VESA. It said in the batch file that that's what you should do if you have video problems or are unsure of your video card.

I LOL at it....but it bothered me
-
I actually have tried to, on other message boards, but as soon as they read the words,"3000ad", or "Derek Smart", they immediately get turned off by the game by the past history of the BC series. One person even said that SC flames people that ask for help! Can you believe that??

Just 50?? That would be like if they promoted you after 50 kills... Karl Reines: You killed 50 Gammulans? Congratulations, here's your WarMonger!
-
I've noticed since I registered that my rank has remained "Ensign". I've noticed people, even people that registered just a month ago, that have their rank listed as "Cmdr". Is my rank still the same because I haven't done anything worth promotion? Or because I haven't posted enough? Or I pissed someone off... Or is it completely arbitrary?

Is there a way to get AW to run faster? I downloaded and installed it, but it lags horribly.

Ok, so it's a joke more than anything else now, but a while back someone(I forgot who)posted the idea of an official GalCom Janitorial Fleet. The purpose of this GCJF would be to essentialy clean up the galaxy! To gather space debris and fight paint scratches! To clean bridgeviewers so any commander has a clear view! To boldy go where no janitorial engineeer has gone before! So what do you think? Will YOU enlist? Join now! Fight for cleanliness!
