hmmmm. You seem to not like tech support, Squid. I've seen this in 3 different posts, one of them hadn't had a reply in 2 months. That's the kind of behavior that just might get you banned. I'll leave that decision to the admins. quote:...........don't go to Tech Support, they're no help. My reply: The BCM Demos are Beta, and as such, are not 100% supported. But, they are unofficially supported, right here, in the forums, by our great team of BC Vets! It's Beta, man! Duh! [ 08-19-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]

quote:Sheesh and Blades calls US vultures. Heh. Hey, desolator started it! --- And WhizzKid (and anyone else looking into Fleets), also look through the RPG Discussion Forums. That's where the fleets were originally created, in the first place. Reading up on the history of the Fleets, and their members, should get you some useful info, if you're planning on joining one. Orion is a heavy RP Fleet, but not everyone has to RP to be in Orion. quote:If I join the fleet, do I get some sort of a GI bill equivalent? Ehhh... Umm.. Right....... If you join Orion Fleet, you get an Orion Fleet email address, though! [email protected] or whatnot; it's pretty cool! [ 08-19-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ] -
Ideas for "What is BCM's genre" quandary.

Since not everything is in space, you aren't in command in the entire game, and that it isn't completely Tactical, there's some trouble for those proposals above..... ...Total Immersion is okay, and Totally Immersive Tactical Simulator had me ROTFLMAO!! How about: Sci-Fi Epic? Total Space Simulator? or maybe Complete Sci-Fi Adventure Simulation!!! It has a nice ring to it........ -
Current RP Date (Into The Fire; Independent Way) is May 3008. You can still write RP stories, taking place in the past, and also write RP stories in later dates. Of course, I'd stay close to May-June for now. DeSylva's Fragments has some short, previously unreleased stories, in the BC (RPG) Universe. They go from year 3000 to 3014. Be sure to check it out.

First, you should set up a close orbit to the planet. Somewhere less than 300, should do. Once I fired it on a moon, and forgot to get close, and the missiles exploded partway there. After I fire my OTS missiles, I go to back to the TacOps Space View, and zoom in, watching the missiles fly towards the planet.... Pretty dramatic, especially if it's a Random! Soon you will see a cutseen with the camera closing in on the place of impact, and then you see the location blow up. Somehow it doesn't matter what side of the planet or moon you fire it.... quote: In fact, I encourage anyone here to look into Derek, and his dealings, and then really ask yourself 1)is getting this game worth the headache..... Headache? I don't have any headaches! Other than that feeling of the sheer joy that we're almost there! quote:2)even if BCM is the god among games, do I want to support Derek, by buying it? Yes. I support him all the way! At least Derek keeps in contact with the fanbase. Do you know any game developer, that keeps in touch with the players, directly? If you're not happy, so what. We don't care, and I'd appreciate it if you just left (or get banned). --- quote:Hm, what else... oh yeah, ban me. Good riddance. Hmmm.... May I personally escort the man to the Airlock, sirs? I'd like to do the honor myself. [ 08-18-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]

If you want to survive in Multiplayer, you should really consider a fleet. Also, if you're up to the challenge, Orion Fleet is also looking for a few good heads. We're the strike force of GalCom, and if you want to be one of the elite, I suggest you look our way. [ 08-18-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ] -
Final Contents of bctespawn.ini: code:[Entity] Type=Commander location=bridge_deck1 ;Location=spawn_point1_1 stats=100,50,100 knife=1 wristlaser=1 pistol=1 combat_rifle=1 sniper_rifle=1 smoke_grenade=2 frag_grenade=2 type1clip=4 type2clip=4 duc=4 powercell=2 dupe=1 [Entity] Type=Marine location=bridge_deck1 ;Location=spawn_point2_1 stats=100,50,100 knife=1 wristlaser=1 pistol=1 combat_rifle=1 sniper_rifle=1 smoke_grenade=2 frag_grenade=2 type1clip=4 type2clip=4 duc=4 powercell=2 dupe=1 I run the regular bcte.exe. Now I've got to figure out the controls since my Manual won't open (possibly corrupted?).......
-
I figured it out! Since I noticed that we all agreed that we weren't being spawned correectly, I went into bctespawn.ini, and changed this: I changed the remark (ignore thing) to the second location marker, and removed the remark from the first one. --- location=bridge_deck1 ;Location=spawn_point1_1 --- for the commander entry and --- location=bridge_deck1 ;Location=spawn_point2_1 --- for the marine one. Hmmmm. And its only been 10 min since I finished the download! It looks good, SC!

Got same problem, and my Manual won't open either....... Windows ME ATI Rage 128 Intel Integrated 810 Dual Monitors 1024x768 16 Bit (Main Monitor) 800x600 16 Bit (Second Monitor) My Debug.Log has the same info as everyone elses.

Mouse look is listed in the WIP section of the BCM VCF, which assumes that it should be in the Gold Release. Welcome aboard, Mole.

I've had my Rage 128 for over a year, and I'm happy, despite some early problems. Most of those were because I started with a POS Integrated Intel 810 chipset, and didn't have an AGP Port. Yep, ATI does need to work on their drivers, but I'm sure it will all work out, eventually. --- I'm planning to upgrade my graphics, but I don't see many options for me, because I really need an AGP Port. Since ATI is well known for their low-price, high-quality 3D cards, I just might get it. First off, I'll need to upgrade my motherboard, but that would mean I might have to change my extremely small case. By then, I won't have enough for the upgrade!

quote:About us sending stuff to tacops. What would they expect us to send? Hmmm. You should look at the original forum topic where I posted my ideas for the Police Logo. (Poor Spuzzum is the only one using it now, although I was it's creator...... ) You can see the series of drafts I created, and what I sent in. It's how the logo evolved. General Fleet Discussions -> Police Caste I think you should use the process I did for the logos. Post them here, and let the other members decide if its good; if they agree, send it to TacOps ([email protected]). Then, if TacOps says to modify something, then by all means, change it. Their criticism is really helpful. Nova out.

BCM Episode 2 demo - What I think
Cmdr Nova replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Game Demo Discussions
quote:And then there's Cmdr Nava (Heh, maybe we should start copywriting nicknames. I remember another GCV Nemesis back in the BC3k times) LMAO!!!! Perhaps we should! ---- In regards to NovaEM's message about cheats (E2 Demo): In Missions 3&4, you can get into Logistix from any computer by pressing the Logistix hotkey, F1. You get the Logistix menu that you would usually get when docked at a station, meaning you get the repair and weapons screens! My computer seems to crash while hitting repair, though. But, you can change the weapon loadouts, or reload them, in your fighter/gunship. Really nifty for the Bonus Mission, where you are in the gunship, striking the enemy base. Fire missiles, go into like commlink or miscon, hit F1, and then go into weapons and reload. Exit menu, aim, fire, repeat. It should work on interceptors you pilot from your CC, as well, but I haven't tried it. Easy way to get free Vagrant missiles! Of course, this is gonna be fixed when BCM goes gold.... Also, you can get into Tactical, by pressing F2, and so on, with the designated hotkeys. [ 08-16-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ] -

Internal Fleet/service rivalry
Cmdr Nova replied to a topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
Hehe, I tried doing that once, in the BCM Demo. (yep, I just have tooooo much time on my hands; at least school starts soon) Park ship as close as I can get to 50 clicks to the planet (which was Farstar), and I get out for a spacewalk (alt-e). Then, I fly towards the planet............ Too bad, all that happens is it shows the "You Have Been Killed In Action" screen...... -
For you Mobile Suit Gundam fans
Cmdr Nova replied to Outlaw's topic in Misc. Race/Caste Affiliations
Played it, liked it. Good graphics, sorta complicated on the controls (but hey, I figured out BC3k, right?), and overall good game. Still, if I'm one of those who doesn't read the manual, doesn't take the time to learn the controls, I'd rather play MechWarrior 3 or 4. I know a few people like that around here....
