  1. Is this age limited? At the ripe old age of 42 I'm a full time student at night , a full time worker during the day and an occasional father and husband. It's a wonder I get time to play BCM and chat with you fanatstic people at all!
  2. quote:Always tryin to keep da green grasshopper down That's too close $ilk I'm watching you.
  3. Happy belated m'boy
  4. Very interesting find $ilk. Again, I agree that Saddam has to be dealt with but if what this gentleman asserts is true, why the difficulty of the Administration in admitting it? A more apt question might be ,why have we allowed our dependence on a declining resource such as oil continue for so long without serious research for alternative energy sources? Could PROFIT be a motive? I've also read in previous posts that working on the economy and education is "too hard" and it was even suggested that I should provide a solution. Well I didn't run for office on those platforms and don't have the resources we provide our president to do those very things. Too hard? I think the fact that we elected Bush to office would seem to indicate the job doesn't require much intellectual muscle or at least that is what some would have us beleive. Some thought it was more important to have a guy who wasn't doing his intern and was a "moral"man. Now expecting him to do the things he was elected to do is "too hard" I too am stuck on this one.
  5. Not concerned about working Americans , schools and education ready to go to war at the drop of a hat..congratulations! you are officially Right-wing nut. I only hope you are the right age to go over and pull you own weight instead of having someone else do your fighting for you. Your responses are flip and given the seriousness of these issues inappropriate. Can't you do any better than that? Oh wait that's just how The Bush administration deals with it..good show!
  6. Lothar has a point and I for one would appreciate it if some of the people who support this police action would admit that that the safety of American citizens isn't the sole or even primary reason the Bush Administration insists upon forcing it. Still I am floored by the deafening silence when we ask where is the domestic policy? What are we doing to stimulate the economy? what are we doing to improve schools and educate our children. Where is the assurance that those of us who have worked and paid taxes for YEARS will ever see a dime of Social Security benefits? Working Americans who invest in our and our country's future are rooked by slick snake oil salesmen who levrage our childrens future by raiding the companies they have driven in the ground. Nobody's pissed about this? No one will deny that Hussien is a world class a**hole who truly deserves a sea based Harpoon at his front door with the morning paper , but our number one priority? Please. If he was half the threat we build him up to be the Israeli's would have a plan on the table and planes in the air. There's an old saying in my career field , " When your only tool is a hammer you see every problem as a nail" That's what we're dealing with here. Our president lacks the patience and subtlety to be a diplomat , the empathy and vision to be a domestic leader , and the perspective to see that this country is in a bad way and he is doing very little to right the ship. He can't raise a single issue that yields him any political leverage. Certainly not because the Democrats are holding the cards , their inability to forge coherent leadership or a message that people with common goals could get behind is painfully obvious even to me. But because it looks too hard to him. Beating the crap out of a country we could defeat with our reservist is much easier and makes him look the hero. Does anyone think he was anything but a single term president before 9-11? You better wake up and smell what the Bush is cooking
  7. Fox, I know the difference too , but holding that Silent Scope rifle in my hands felt , you know, creepy. Next time I 'll just wait my turn and smoke someone in my trusty Loki and up my sagging match rating in Battletech( which is still pretty popular here , leagues , rankings everything) Let me know when you're coming up! 8. Haven't tried this game yet but I'm not sure I want to right now. Last night after work and school I decided I 'd hit Dave and Busters and try to scare a challenge match of Battletech up. When I got there it was pretty late and the line for challenges was too long so I thought I try Silent ScopeII for a while then head home. Half way through the first stage of story mode, I started getting a little creeped out and it dawned on me , the whole sniper thing in DC really made me uncomfortable. Maybe its just me but I won't be playing Silent Scope again without thinking of the poor folks.
  9. Could we do something about that gekko that promotes a specific brand of car insurance? Not only is it creepy ,it is annoying as hell. Would PETA object to me smashing a virtual lizzard? BTW Extreme teddy bear rasslin , 'Fox you are the limit(LOL)
  10. News Flash! The Democratic party taken over by "dumb hobos" and welfare recipients! quote:..A lot of liberals are liberal because they are getting money from the government... Dragon Lady That's beneath you . Do you really expect me to believe someone who writes as well as you would really utter such a stupid remark? Quantify your remark. For example " a lot of the liberals I know" or "the liberals around here.." something to that effect because in truth you are proably don't know " a lot of liberals" Progressive political thought is not monolithic. quote:I can't really blame somone who is benefiting from welfare for not objecting too hard Did I hurt your feelings? I must have and if thats the case my apologies. Why else would you accuse someone with opposing views of being a welfare recipient? I have a good job and my wife is even more well heeled and even if I was on welfare , it is nothing to be ashamed of. You right wingers need to read up on the cost of welfare. It accounts for less of your tax dollar than you have been lead to believe , a lot less. And if you have ever been to college and recived a Pell grant YOU TOOK MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT! You don't get to choose where your tax dollar goes or else I would insure so much of mine wouldn't end up in some corporate exec's golden parachute after his company goes under or in the pocket of some rich guy begging the public to pay for his football stadium. Tough Ti**y! If you don't like it run for office , campaign for a candidate or move. But please no more stupid remarks that can't possibly be representative of the agile mind and sharp tongue I had come to respect.
  11. There is a level of callous inhumanity in so many of the threads in this post I'd feel sorry for you if it wasn't so sickeningly repulsive. Since when did it become a sign of weakness to care about the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves? To joke about terrorism being acceptable against some groups(Palestinians) is the same rationale they use to justify their actions. If anyone wants to convince themselves that this war is about protecting ourselves from immenient danger, fine. But don't piss down my back and tell me its rain. We face a number of critical domestic issues that have been all but ignored because they lack the political leverage the President needs. Do we really want to compound this by engaging in nation building again? One thread mentioned might making right and used the example of Japan. Bad example. Read your history or more specifically read almost any biography of Douglass MacArthur. We were able to bring democracy to Japan because of his stewardship and his compassion and his humanity , a trait ignored by some of you with alarming regularity. And can we please stop *****ing about paying taxes and referring to it as the government "putting a gun to your head" You wouldn't have to pay so much if the corporate pirates the Bush regime props up would pay their fair share. I'm sure it is much easier picking on us liberals by saying we are spending all your money on people who don't deserve it as if it isn't our money too. Ever hear these words? "What so ever you do to the least of my brothers , that you do unto me" Even if you are not a Christian the ideal of empathy is divine.
  12. You deleted it,it wasn't saved and I have no way to bring it up to edit it. Can you restore it so I can edit it for grammar? Everytime I click edit post it shows your message to me as the original post. What gives? I can only guess this is another right wing conspiracy(chuckle)Let me know what I have to do , cause I really want that to be read.
  13. Jag, there is nothing to cite I wrote it myself and don't understand why I'm receiving this message. It is my intellectual property and as such I do not need to cite anything I am the author. I'd appreciate it if you repost it and I will edit it so it fits a paragraph format
  14. Good luck and Godspeed my friend. See you when you reach civilization. (If cable isn't available have you considered DirecTV's ISP? I heard its pretty resonable. I'm even considering it cheap as I am) Until then Au Revoir
  15. Please see my below post. Thanks, Jaguar [ 10-08-2002, 05:37 PM: Message edited by: Jaguar ]
  16. Working my ass off I was at the office preparing for our liscensing visit and missed Alias , the Sopranos and everything else. How about a review somebody? BTW what did you think of the Andromeda season premier? Ditto Mutant X .. PS SC you have great taste in films Romeo is Bleeding is a classic!
  17. er..do you guys even watch Enterprise? talk about going off topic..start a new thread ya bums!
  18. Saw Robbery Homicide and thought it was very good. If Fastlane is McG's take on Miami Vice , this is Micheal Mann's answer. Smart, funny without being lowbrow and a good cast made up of some talented character actors , I really enjoyed it. 8/10. On the other hand I found CSI MIami nearly unwatchable. I really don't like David Caruso I hope it gets better and I will watch again to see if it does.
  19. If it aint the same guy ,they share the same "dikshenary" And BTW I now insist on being referred to as "the meat elf" LMAO !
  20. Couldn't agree more. It is funny every week and while it is overlooked , it is IMO laugh for laugh better than some of the established (read old)comedies like Frasier and Raymond. I also think Malcolm in the Middle is consistently a very funny show that "gets no pub"
  21. Great list. I'm stoked for the Andromeda season premier coming up in two weeks here. [ 09-26-2002, 12:02 PM: Message edited by: Race Bannon IV ]
  22. Hey you heard the big guy. Post on my "What's Your Favorite ?" thread. We've been discussing SAAB extensively over there. BTW SC what did you think of the second 'Fastlane' ? Hot chicks and fast cars gets me everytime. However they could do less slo-mo for my taste. And speaking of hot OMG did anyone see Enterprise last night? The behind the sheet dressing scene with T'Pol was off the hook! I know it is gratuitous but it does add to what was already an interesting show. I mean the Vulcans invented velcro? How cool is that?
  23. Not again. Please for the love of God , no more threads like this , you're killin me!
  24. That would be the Herculoids from the Hanna Barbera juggernaut of the early to mid sixties. Pretty cool. They also had some other intersting choices. Super President was about you guessed it the President of the US who was also a superhero, Mighty Mightor a prehistoric superhero , Birdman by far the corniest superhero ever and my personal favorite The Original Jonny Quest with another cool theme song. Each episode was like a movie with cool gadgets , great locals and creepy supervillians. Of Course they had to ruin it by introducing two new versions ,each inferior to the first one.
  25. A discussion on another thread got me to thinking , what sci-fi or genre series do you love and wish was back on the air? Post your entries and lets see. I used to be crazy about the Invaders with Roy Thinnes. I also never missed Gerry Anderson's UFO which absoltely had the coolest theme song you never heard. The immortal with Chris George was pretty cool too. Space 1999 was over my head as a kid and I didn't like that they used to get thier asses kicked all the time cause their tech was so primitive. What do you think?
