  1. There will be a health + armor system. The only way you are going to die instantaneously is if you get shot in the head. If you haven't already, download and play the All Aspect Warfare demo. Try it and seen because it will be something like that.
  2. I don't envision any large naval battles. The two naval units in the game are just transportation and for sneaking around. When you use the base that has them, you will understand more.
  3. What do I think about the future of the game? uhm, that is a strange question to ask. Of course I am optimistic about its future. The fact is, nobody knows how a game will do until it is released. Headshots. Yes. Trailer. Soon. Once we have all the elements in place that we need to show. We're not going to be creating fake cinematic trailers like those other guys. Our trailer will be based on actual gameplay.
  4. The biggest problem we're going to have is balancing. Like all my games, these worlds are HUGE. While a 2x3km base in a 16x16km region doesn't seem that large, just wait until you actually start running down main street. Then you'll see just how massive the area is. If the base isn't well populated with [infantry] players, we're going to end up with a situation whereby there are going to be these pocket skirmishes going on all over town and nobody actually engaged in the main objective of taking the base. Which is why the base will automatically spawn NPC infantry in the event that one side's base has low (either due to low player numbers at the time, folks sitting around in an FOB filing their nails or busy engaged in another base) human players.
  5. I fought long and hard with the decision regarding customization. In the end, I opted to shoot for a feature packed and fun game, rather than wasting time on customizations. Of course if the game takes off, then customization is something that could very well be added in via an update. Yeah with ID lock, if you drop your weapon, a) it takes longer to disappear from the world only you can use it c) you can find it using geolocation. So if some dweeb killed you, then picked up your weapon, as long as he has it, you know where to find him and the weapon We have a ton of absolutely crazy stuff in the game. They range from strength and speed inducing implants to a wild array of weapon attachments I don't understand the question.
  6. There will be minimal AI support for these silos or they will ruin the game completely - given how powerful they are. All the gun and missile assets can be manned by human players. I have yet to decide if they wil be AI activated if no players are in them or not. This is not like our previous games - or even All Aspect Warfare - where all those silos are AI manned regardless of players. Those are totally different types of games. In fact, the only reason why those assets will even have AI options, is because of the FOBs where players can deploy them. I don't want to build an FOB, then have to babysit. No, a Fireteam can have an FOB - a completely self-sustaining base with repair stations, medical stations, armory, inventory etc - protected by AA and SAM silos which can either be automated (AI controlled) or manned (players). There won't be any options to call in any air strikes, cavalry or whatnot. That's not the game we're building. LOD is a pure PvP game - which means that it relies heavily on human players, not NPC or AI.
  7. 1st-How far from the Main City we can build them That would depend on where we allow them. You're not going to be able to go plodding through the forest and plonk an outpost (aka Forward Operating Base) anywhere you like. There will be designated areas they are allowed and on a first come, first serve basis. Plus, they're quite expensive and have a daily maintenance fee - so it's not like everyone is going to afford to build them. 2nd-This bases can be destroyed by a FireTeam of let's say 2-4 players? Yes, they are fully destructible - but can also be repaired. Which is why you need to buy defense systems (shields, guns, missile launchers etc). Make no mistake, FOBs are not just something I threw into the game just because. They are more than "player housing" and only for serious gamers who are going to be playing the game long term. 3rd-How much is the reward for destroying this outposts? That information is classified. 4rth-The idea of paying each week is quite awesome, if there is clan/guild/alliance support can they together join money and make a base for the clan/guild/alliance only not just for 1 player (or there is only FireTeam and no such things as guilds and etc...)? For now, FOBs are for Fireteams (aka guilds) only; so I don't envision individual players being able to create them. This may change though, depending on feedback from the public Beta.
  8. Not sure when BF3 is coming out, but we're shooting for Q4/2011.
  9. Yes, of course!
  10. While I'm sure that BF3 will be awesome, it is just the same old stale fps gameplay seen in games of its type. LOD is a major departure from that sort of gameplay as you will see.
  11. Don't think so the only thing that i get is the begin gear...apart from that nope That's correct. The game is 100% skill based. Of course because of the certs, F2P players won't have access to certain assets, weapons etc.
  12. Not in the sense that you are thinking. As with all our games, there will be AA guns and SAM silos.
  13. I think I'll say this now before any other hard-core sub-sim players do, how much indepth are you going to go with the subs there Derek? I'm thinking along the lines of stuff like Silent Hunter and such (only, naturally, more futuristic) No such thing. The two sub classes are un-armed and behave just like regular vehicles, but in water. One is a single seater, the other is a two seater. LOD is not a hardcore game by any stretch of the imagination. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the hardcore scale, where the Battlecruiser/Universal Combat games are 10 and the All Aspects games are a 5, LOD is like a 2.
  14. It's not what you think. There is nothing wrong with browser based games; it's just a delivery system.
  15. All the weapons shown in the current Alpha shots are placeholders. The weapons are going to be sci-fi in nature but futuristic (Interstellar Marines, Crysis etc), not goofy like Global Agenda, Firefall or anything like that.
  16. There are many classes to choose from. Please read the FAQ. It's all in there.
  17. It is for PC (browser based through Facebook and others), iOS and Android
  18. New blog post is up
  19. I have released a 1920x1080 shot of one of the starbases (Nightbridge). Go check it out on the Facebook page! Don't forget to friend the game on Facebook and also follow it on Twitter if you want to stand ANY chance of getting in on the closed Beta (which will be announced very soon and open for registration).
  20. The FAQ already has that question answered. The game uses an all new internally developed game engine. We're not yet set on what third-party anti-cheat system there will be, but rest assured we'll do our best to curb any sort of cheating.
  21. There may be one or two sub types in the game, since they are standard vehicles able to move in water. Since one of the regions is comprised mostly of water, this would work great.
  22. NPC bots are a staple of all my games (even in AAW they were there and very effective) so so they will be in LOD but won't have any many advanced options as the bots in AAW since that is a much more complex game.
  23. LOD uses a complete new game engine developed from scratch. So things like graphics, control scheme etc will all be different. Anyway, that's what a closed Beta is for. We can tweak all those things based on user input. We did the same for AAW before we released it and didn't have any complaints. This sort of this is based on user preference and there is no way that it is going to be perfect for everyone.
  24. The game will have integrated voice chat out of the box. Since we are using cloud servers, we expect to have servers in various territories in order to ensure that the user experience is the best there is. Apart from CEP, there are lots of perks that go towards capturing bases, assisting others etc. All will be revealed soon. In fact, there is minimal resource gathering because a specific type of mineral resource needs to be collected and deposited at the nuclear reactor in order to keep it going. If the reactor shuts down, then it's lights out e.g. the Early Warning Radar, Area Defense Shield and other critical base assets cease to operate, you can't create assets (vehicles, aircrafts, weapons etc). So in between perching atop a hill and taking someone's head off at 1500 yards, you can collect resources to help your base.
  25. We are going to have two distinct business models. PREMIUM The game is purchased for $29.99 (subject to change). This comes with the following perks/items (subject to change) Early access to play the game days (TBD) before the official launch. One additional character slot. Can choose starting gear (incl. armor, weapon, ammo etc) from various presets.Given special weapon w/ attachment (e.g. Infra-Red scope) and weapon ID lock.No Combat Experience Point capNo Combat Training Certs capCan own assets (weapons, vehicles, aircrafts, jetpack) w/ ID lock. Can own inventory items (weapons, attachments, mods etc) w/ ID lock. Can create fireteams of more than 4 players. Can join Fireteams of more than 4 players. Can create cloned personnel (2 max). Can create any/all certain assets (will list later) at terminals. Can create Forward Operating Bases (FOB a.k.a player housing).
