  1. OK, who can resist a good Cohen movie? While this is not their best, it was a pretty hilarious romp through the nuptial world. A typical highly entertaining date movie. 8/10
  2. Oh man, this movie was so much fun. Typical edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller. Its not for everyone, but I enjoyed every moment of it. 9/10
  3. *sigh* I was so looking forward to seeing this one; but if its an over-the-top visceral gorefest (ala Blade II etc), this is one QT film I'm going to pass on. So, on a scale of 1/10, how visceral is the gore? Is is like cartoonish or realistic?

  5. quote: Originally posted by XLurker: Greetings. Here are some small questions: I suppose there are still OTS missiles ,right? And if there are (hopefully) will they create an impressive explosion if they detonate? Is it still planned to be possible to capture enemy bases? And if it is then how is it going to work? What weapons will submarines be capable of using? What exactly has been simplified in UC? Yes They work the same way they do now No; that feature didn't make the cut See previous APN You'll have to wait for the game to find out
  6. OK, will move this into the problem area and open up an bug report ticket on it.
  7. quote: Originally posted by $iLk: I suppose when you don't have multimillion dollar contracts like Valve, you have to be paranoid because every release that you make is imperative to your financial success... Valve could shake off the loss of Half-Life2 simply with the amount of expansions and mods they are still milking after the first half-life. Exactly

  9. Yeah, its getting kinda ridiculous out here, isn't it? And CNN weighs in
  10. quote: Originally posted by Scrivener: But simultaneously, I have very little sympathy for Valve. They whored themselves out to ATI and lied... blatantly LIED to the public. About their release date, about the ATI/Nvidia fiasco. And people knew they were full of it all along, that's *why* this happened. Valve should have been more honest and forthcoming with their fans. Regardless of the above, the theft of source code should not be the plausible punishment for such. In short, the crime does not fit the punishment. quote: Needless to say, I don't think SC as at much risk for those reasons. Not unless someone physically breaks into my office. Then parks himself on my dev station. Then proceeds to spend the rest of his life cracking a military grade encryption algorithm to get into the dev folder. Assuming they can crack the password to the machine itself. And if he's heard of PGPDisk, I doubt that he'd even try. And since when not in my office for a lengthy period, the kernel code is around my neck on a USB and encrypted drive - along with my medical information. Not to mention that even my PDA (an HP5455) uses a fingerprint ID for access. Then there's that little matter that my dev station is not connected to the Net without a firewall - which monitors any and everything going in/out and with NO auto-rules enabled (i.e. I manually say yes/no to ALL comms going in/out of that machine). And even at the slightest hint of a breach, my ass is parked at my comms station and staring at the the output from TCPview and ProcessView. No, I'm not in the least bit paranoid. Good God, whatever gave anyone that idea? quote: Also - NEVER use Outlook, it's a liability. Eudora is infinately more secure and reliable. Well, er, doh?
  11. OMFG!! That was brilliant!!!!
  12. Is the problem just with pilots or other crew?
  13. quote: Originally posted by Spindoktor: I ain't buying it. Still sounds like an oxymoron to me. I won't sleep tonight. Damn. LMAO!!! Actually the "boiling" part is the current temperature. The "snow" part is the weather. The boiling factor is probably 0 because the weather is snow, which implies cold - instead of the intense boiling heat. ....and then there's Chavik's explanation. Now I won't sleep tonite.
  14. My take on this whole mess
  15. Anyone remember the Falcon 4 source debacle? Anyway, and so this goes on and on and on and on....
  16. Thread closed. Everyone clear out and go here.
  17. The pre-order pages for EB and GameStop are up. So do yourself a favor and go pre-order TODAY!! Pre-orders are becoming the standards which determine marketing, exposure, sell-in figures etc etc. I have closed this thread. So post in here if you must.
  18. This is getting worse by the minute

  20. quote: Originally posted by Most: Yeah i hate to turn this into an argument, but lets look at the facts too. If the guy who wrote that would sit back and think for a minute, one of the biggest points that i think has already been made is HOW could that happen. Quite easily. There was a serious lapse in security on Valve's network and this happened. And I know exactly how it happened because I've been going back and forth with Gabe and co in the past few days as we in the dev community attempt to figure out if our (mine are fine) systems are compromised similarly. This conspiracy theory is a load of bollocks. Nothing more, nothing less.
  21. quote: Originally posted by Grayfox: i dunno, youre the security guru SC what do you think? is anything "hack-proof"??? There's no such thing as hack proof. Also, the medium responsible for the security of sites, is a human (not a Gammulan, sadly enough), so they are prone to mistakes. If a hacker breaks into the FBI, its not the hardware/software that is responsible - but rather the implementation and configuration of same. Just ask Valve

Look, you're still listed as a cadet on the new forum and those who don't know you've been around a lot, lot longer than most, won't get it.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Cruis. In: haha honest movie reviews on the net. good one LMAO!! Thats what I said
  24. quote: Originally posted by DREADA: Will that be available on the fpp interface too? Yep
  25. quote: Originally posted by Enigma: got a few questions SC will SOP work now? cause iv never seen the light come on but i think u once said, just stop at a close enough range and do what u gotta do in orbit. if its implemented can we do geostationary orbits? cause i think u once said u would only see areas below ur orbiting CC, and it would suck if ur on the ground and u rotate out from under ur CC and cant get help for a moment. and can STO shoot us down if were in orbit? can we man STO and shoot down craft in orbit? i remember u mentioning ODS will keep OTS from locking on, is it gonna be in UC? or just BCO? SOP is not implemented and that icon will be removed at some point. Adding orbital approach profile is just another layer of complexity I don't want to deal with. The game works fine right now without it and nothing gained/lost by adding it - except the time wasted in actually doing it.
