  3. I don't think ship bound engineers are members of the Engineers Under Station Union Charter, EUSUC. )pronouned, u suck). So, they're not allowed on board the station to do any work.
  4. Nope. Haven't touched it since the last time I did. About two weeks ago.
  5. Isn't there a thread about WINXP in here already?
  6. Targets have to be within their radar range in order to be attacked.
  7. quote: Originally posted by Bandus: Wait, wait, had an epiphany. I read the BCMFATALERROR.LOG file to find I'm getting that Cannot load ENGLISH.LNG error you all were talking about earlier. You will only get that error if the game is uninstalled and/or patched improperly. Follow the starting from scratch instructions in the FAQ and start from scratch, then apply the 1.0.07 (FULL) patch as indicated. As to the other issue, you obviously have video driver problems. That too is covered in the FAQ. Read it. And before you post again, make sure that your system profile info is in your sig. [ 03-18-2002, 17:42: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  8. If you like buddy movies, DeNiro and the resident movie loudmouth, Murphy, you'll like this one. I give it a 7/10.
  9. The normal procedure we have around here is to provide links to products that you are suggestion. The suggestion becomes pointless and worthless if the person you are seeking to inform, doesn't have a frigging clue what you're going on about.
  10. LOL!!!
  11. Looks like they both took the lead. Dunno why anyone would even like the Megaron; but then again.
  12. quote: Originally posted by Flak: ARRGGG..... I have a headache now from trying to decifer this crap... GRRRR! I will get you all for this... and your dogs tooooo! LOL!! There used to be a English to L33t translator here, but it seems to have moved. Anyone know where it went?
  13. Why is it that some idiots insist on sending private messages then NOT checking their replies - even though they have this set in their profile? The next fool who sends me a private message and then doesn't read my reply; is going to be in a world of hurt. btw Epsilon 5, have you checked your PM today? 14. You are NOT going to believe this
  15. Absolutely hilarious. Go see it. And bring the kids. 10/10 from me.
  16. quote: Originally posted by Judge Bragg: I have been to the archive you mentioned, I didn't see anythning that would indicate why all saved games on restore screen disappear when you die. The files in the save folder are: player0.sg0 to player0.sg9 and player0.sgd. When I resume, I go to the start a new game screen. When I restore, I get a blank Restore screen, no AE listed. Since, you did not say so I hope I am useing the current version of the game. You shutoff the computer thereby preventing the files, which was already open in memory, to be written to. It has either been (a) deleted or ( corrupted. That was such a SILLY thing to do, its not even funny. I sent you to that archive so that you can read how the saved game files are constructed. If you don't understand it, I'm not going to explain it to you. Start a new career. Next time, you won't do something as stupid as what you did and think someone is going to spend their time on it. And if you don't know why you are going to a new game screen when you try to restore a missing or KIA profile, go RTFM. [ 03-17-2002, 10:30: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  17. I didn't ask you to send me any files. Read my post again. SLOWLY. And while you're at it, go to the archives and show all topics. You should see a thread discussing saved games. Go from there. [ 03-16-2002, 15:39: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  18. Quite good, depending on if you like the standard run+gun tension filled movies. 8/10
  19. Well, if you didn't quit the game properly - as I'm QUITE CERTAIN that you didn't - thats what happens. Reply with the list of files in the SAVE folder and let me see whats there. Since you're not using the official version of the game, I doubt that I can do anything. [ 03-16-2002, 14:30: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  20. Yes to both questions
  21. Even with NPDs error margin, it is still inaccurate. BC3K v2.0x sold about 2x those units. Which is in fact why EB picked up the exclusive rights. Besides, Lancer probably got those figures from a post that Desslock made on the Usenet on 01-18-2002 in the comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.space-sim thread. Here are some snippets. You can find the entire thread on Google if your use the advanced search and then use desslock as the author, battlecruiser as the word search and in the forum above. quote: I really wonder why the genre's been so thoroughly abandoned by gamers, but it's really hit the skids over the past several years, but it's a pretty recent development: Descent Freespace (Freespace 1 - a 1998 release) sold well, as did the last Wing Commander (late 1997) and X-wing Alliance (early 1999). XWA outsold the other two by a large margin. But the genre's had one successive bomb after another since then, and each release seems to do worse than the others. FreeSpace 2 did, in retrospect, o.k., but sold less than half the units of the original game. Allegiance, Tachyon and Xbeyond the Frontier only sold a few thousand copies (Interplay's re-release of Battlecruiser 3000 did better than any of those games). Starlancer did a little better, but it was still a big commercial flop. And Independence War 2 and Jump Gate both sold very, very poorly in the U.S., even though they were both good games. Hopefully they did better in other markets (like the U.K., in IW2's case, in particular) Games developed in non-U.S. markets tend to do better in non-U.S. jurisdictions, understandably enough. Desslock quote: Sorry, the spacing got kinda monkeyed up. Hopefully it's clearer now (below) -- Desslock's RPG News: http://desslock.gamespot.com New Gaming Industry Editorials on Fridays 1997: X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (Balance of Power) 333,608 units ($15,333,000) Wing Commander Prophecy (and gold) 210,000 units ($7,110,000) 1998 Descent Freespace (Freespace 1) (and gold) 147,158 units ($4,563,000) Freespace expansion pack (alone) 23,000 units ($404,000) (so approximately 170,000 units and $5,000,000 for Freespace 1 in total) Independence War 61,000 units ($2,210,000) Interplay Re-release of Battlecruiser 3000 41,037 units ($405,000) (I don't have any figures on Take Two's original release, although Derek may be able to provide them) 1999 X-Wing Alliance 235,920 units ($7,457,000) FreeSpace 2 (including game of the year) 83,484 units ($2,703,000) Independence War Deluxe 23,000 units ($487,000) (so approximately 84,000 units and $2,700,000 for Independence War and its expansion) 2000 Tachyon 61,200 units ($2,112,000) Starlancer 27,390 units ($1,147,000) Allegiance 12,700 units ($443,000) X-Beyond the Frontier 10,834 units ($295,000) 2001 Independence War 10,069 units ($407,000) I can't find Jump Gate's stats for some reason, but as I recall it sold less than 10,000 units.

  23. Carl, Buzz, why do you two ladies have improper sigs?
  24. You will definitely need to open up a port if you are hosting a server. And besides, BCM mp only supports dedicated servers; so unless you are planning on playing as well, you're going to need two machines.
