Sending it now, with a description in the email body. Idaho You know, even though you are annoying at times, your pattern of persistence is admirable (reminds me of someone I know ). Which is why I don't get pissed at you anymore. At least not often. You're definitely an XP1 Beta (and BCM mp) test candidate. So, once I put out the call, be sure to register. That goes for you too, Krekol, you lurker [ 03-05-2002, 12:38: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Saved games ALWAYS help to reveal problems - even obscure ones. Thats the beauty of the ever changing file format.

Proves nothing. It works just fine here. If you installed it incorrectly and did NOT read the docs which mention the changes regarding the INI file, there you have it.

Thats because the objdefs.dat file in the scripts folder, overwrites the one in the DATASCENARIOS.ZIP folder. Doh! And that file also affects ACM, IA and TA as well. If you plan on using the default ROAM scenario, you have no business using this mod. Period. It was designed for those who found it too difficult in 1.0.06 and is a system wide change. I only built a new ROAM scenario in order to make this obvious to n00bs. You can probably delete all the files in the SCRIPTS folder, and leave only the objdefs.dat file and it will have the same effect. You lose the new ROAM scenario description.

And I figured it out after it happened to me. Here's how it happens: If you aren't careful when you try to press accept, (i.e. let the mouse drift, or don't hit it dead on), the button will 'unhighlight', if you press it then, somehow the save slot, minus it's text, will jump in front of the Accept button, and then your stuck and can't do anything. Solution: Be sure the Accept button is HIGHLIGHTED when you press it, that solves it. Idaho Do you have a set of screen shots illustrating this problem? If you can grab a shot (CTRL+G and is saved in the SHOTS folder to TGA. Please convert to JPEG before sending) or two and pass along with an explanation of what is happening.

Where DOES it overwrite the standard ROAM scenario?? If you don't read the docs, you get what you deserve. In spades.

quote: Originally posted by Jeff Lackey: And they would have to be REAL wacko - like someone playing Civ2 and saying that it had no replayability, was poorly designed, and the gameplay was destroyed because it lacked fancy graphics. Imagine my surprise when I saw the PC Zone UK review for the first time. In this case, its not only that he spent less time talking about the game, but he found time to really blow it by going so far as to print a screen shot of a Windows crash screen - a screen that can be seen in ANY number of games in recent memory. Of course, my opinion is that its payback for that whole bruhaha over me giving PC Gamer UK (their fierce competitor) the BCM demo exclusive. Of course, the editor sent me email saying that this was not the case and also added a sort of reconcilatory blurb to the next issue (I think I have it around here somewhere). Sometimes, it just gets weird. And yet editors wonder why their readership is down and readers rarely take reviews seriously anymore.

quote: Originally posted by Fractux: Or it this just something that occurs because of the way the BCstudio program works? There you go again, pissing around in things you know nothing about. AND not reading docs. If you READ the BCS docs, you will know why the models are not rendered. I'm not going to tell you. You need to use the Detonator Destroyer and remove ALL traces of the nVidia drivers. Then install a driver that works. [ 03-05-2002, 06:51: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

You can change it. Not a problem. Check your private messages. I have deleted your EBT profile. Just re-register using the new name.

LMAO!!!! Man, thats some funny stuff

*groan* OK, I've renamed the file to .TXT and re-uploaded it. This will prevent any such confusion in the future.

Serves you right. Anyone using a loophole to do something they're not supposed to, deserve all they get. READ the ENTIRE thread.

quote: Originally posted by Fractux: BTW, I just checked with BCstusio and the stations are rendered incorrectly as well. Then your environment is definitely hosed. Nothing I can do to help since it has nothing to do with BCM. Thats what you get for pissing about with drivers you know nothing about. [ 03-04-2002, 16:33: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

hehe, well, for those whining wimps, I just released a GBS script which lowers the defense system values to around the 1.0.05 levels.

Is this the first time you are seeing an NFO file? I suppose you don't know that its just a pure text file (can be opened with Notepad) and does not need to be renamed?
