Every race and caste is in the game and has been in since the beginning. I designed them and populated the world with according to their function. They DO function and just because you don't SEE what they do (have every followed a paramedic or an explorer?), doesn't mean they're not doing anything. If you don't like a caste, don't play it. But whatever you do, do NOT question how I designed my universe when it has ZERO impact on how you choose to play the game. That is all.

quote: Originally posted by Soback: I believe I might have found something interesting, it might also be linked to people seeing the fireworks on their screens after being damaged then fully repaired and still showing damage FX.I was badly damaged, almoust every system. So I started repairing. First I repaired all of the systems listed in "CVD" under "SSR". Then continued with the rest. Here's a possible bug. The "SSR' screen in the "CVD" still showed all of the systems as being damaged (red). The systems are at 100% and working properly, and the color changed in "SSR" only when you are repairing (blue) but then it just goes back to being red. So even when your ship is fully repaired the SSR will still show the systems which were destroyed or badly damaged as being destroyed or badly damaged. So maybe the SSR screen doesn't update properly and causes the computer to think that your ship is badly damaged and plays the damage FX. I got screenshots and a saved game if you want it SC, so if you want you can either try it out yourself or try my saved game, just post if you want it. 1. The SSR display works fine 2. The damageFX has nothing to do with internal systems. If the damageFX is persistent from *other* crafts, it has no relation to yours. We're still investigating this one, so please don't confuse the issue with random speculation. If I need more info I'll ask for it.

I have released this patch to testers for a quick run through to make sure everything is fine. I'll be releasing it tomorrow if all is well. [ 02-07-2002, 07:36: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Importing my own image into BCM?

Brilliant!! Too bad the uniform is Blue. That pic has all the makings of a Red Shirt. [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
...and what do stations have to do with this? They are in a fixed geo orbit.

An ODS is different from an OTS. Go read the appendix again.

(hate to be a ass but.....) space in bcm seam....nothing... if u look at a game like homeworld there space backgrond look colorful... i don't thing something like that is too hard to do and not take too much time. and i don't know why went in bcm went 10+ ship in the screen the game starting to lag... but in a game like homeworld u can have 100+ ship and it work fine on my 200mhz. sorry for asking too much but hope u will look into those ideas Could it because HW doesn't even have AI to speak of? No wait!! Its probably because they are only updating a single space region. No wait!! Its probably because they're projected on a 3D iso plane. No wait!!!....arrrrrrrghhhh I give up. Damn noobs, you can't cuss 'em and you sure as hell can't shoot 'em. Homeworld vs BCM. Pah! lay off the crack dude.

Does the MANUAL tell you ANYTHING about colonizing planets? There's your answer.

He obviously has NOT read the FAQ section which deals specifically with sound card tweaks. He probably has full acceleration turned on - is running with 32Bit settings (video), has messed with the default game settings and hasn't even gotten around to deleting the INI file indicated in the FAQ in order to restart with default settings. ....and wondering why his game runs like crap. As for the SiS video card. Well then. And I'll bet dimes to a dollar that machine has a shared memory architecture. Which explains the 96MB RAM footprint. I can move my mouse left and right but not get away from the weapon station and I never get the menu up again. I have to ALT-Esc to get to desktop and kill the game from there. I've done this twice with the exact same results. Everything else seems to be OK so far. Great game. System specs. WinME PII 450 Radeon 32 DDR - 7075 driver. It's not much of a problem, but someone might want to take a closer look at it." ~urzaI have also noticed the problem while deploying drone 3. The research officer will say "Phased array IDO installed," complete with the text subtitles on the screen. A mild glitch. Ice Cold The DATASOUNDFX.INI index file is probably off. I'll check it out.

quote: Originally posted by Vandal: Ok, not sure anyone has posted about this yet, but I'm able to repo this graphic glitch pretty consistently. When you launch from Earthstar station in Jupiter (easiest way to start is be Earthcom and choose Jupiter as your region), when you're viewing externally both your ship and the Earthstar station itself, the moon behind it while somes grow very large and become translucent with a white-ish tint. Anyone else seen this? Happens everytime I'm in there. Works as designed. There are several moons in the region and the closest entity is getting rendered first. This anomaly is more prevalent in vid cards with 16MB or less. If you fly away from Jupiter or one of those moons and then switch to the rear cam view, you should see the same thing. GBS TUTORIAL - Creating a personal fp model skin
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
I don't know what Zbrush is. You will need 3DS Max to skin the characters. You can use any 2D program to create textures. [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -

quote: Originally posted by Roberto: Ive a question for you SC, regarding the deployment of marines via a shuttle. What AI level do you need to be to do this with out killing them all?? I just tried a pilot with a AI of 25, and it still killed them all. Also did the same for deploying a OC (Ai of 24) and also just set way points with the last one set to HALT (AI 24 also) and it didnt halt (waypoints were long way apart.. 2 way points) and also tried to same with the last waypoint being Wait for orders, which acording to the manual is the same as Halt. Just curious to the levels needed for these to work correctly (tried them all on a flat piece of land) Thats odd. Lemme run some tests and get back to you. Normally, 25+ and higher should be fine.

If you know how, build your own. Our very own Advil is one of my newer supplies. I usually order all kinds of stuff from him, Google, some local dealers etc. Contact Advil (pacecomputers.com) and tell him what you need and how much you want to spend and am sure he'll build it for you. You're going to regret having that on-board sound controller, unless you plan on disabling it and using a PCI sound card. I recommend the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz if you can't afford an Audigy.
