Just spoke to the production company. - box is out of production - manual is out of production - keyboard template* is out of production - macrovision duplication finished - packaging should start week of 10/15 *In a sheer brainstorm, I asked them to move the nav map which used to be in the manual (and was barely readable) to the back of the keyboard sheet. The keyboard commands are printed on one side and the nav chart on the other side of the single 8›x11› sheet - which folds into three parts to fit inside the manual. So, the map is now larger and easier to read than if it was in the manual. The manual came out at 74 pages (QuarkXpress Mac format). The extra page contains the names of the Beta testers who survived to the end [ 10-08-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

quote: Originally posted by basseb: Hi all, i just would like to toss in my two scent. i've ordered the game about 2 month ago. Since i live in Canada, last time i ordered something for the US (Amazone) it took 2 week for delivery. So please SC allow some time for a few people. I think the best way to this is since SC is hiring a forum moderator. The moderator could publish some kind of digest of topic (i'm sthinking something in the line Kernel Traffic *for the linux kernel*) and also update the faq. So that way fact (and mostly fact no shit allowed) are available to the common visitor. Thanx for Kernel Traffic : http://kt.zork.net/kernel-traffic/latest.html basseb Tell me you didn't order the game from the US. EB has rights to sell it in Canada as well. So, you could have ordered it locally there.

God I hope that if its true, that they try that stunt again, now that my ISP is involved and has logging turned on. Here is the post from the Usenet thread that got me suspicious. As you can see, that Pigfighter and AG aliases, have access to the forum - which means that they are, in fact, registered. Jag Uar is actually Fabio aka Shirley under another alias. I won't be surprised if he wasn't one of those two as well. Given the way he described it, will jumpgates still have a purpose in BCM? -EDIT Ok, I've speculated on the idea of having "orbiting zones", if that's how it works. [ 10-08-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ] And like the rest of the folks, I don't see what the heck my excerpt above, has to do with regions. And quit speculating. There's NOTHING to speculate. The excerpt above is ENTIRELY UNRELATED to what you're asking. As to what you're asking, Papi already replied.

[ 10-08-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Jeffery Eu ] I am sure that once they actually charge your card and ship the product, that they'd send you email. As Paddy did, its best if everyone contacted them about the status of your order.

$ilk, he doesn't want to wait six months. Aren't you paying attention? Get the GF2 64MB. Trust me, it will make a BIG difference from that antique you currently have.

quote: Originally posted by $iLk: Um, SC if someone steals our Nick can we email you and get you to smite them or something? Yes. Anyone who was first using a nick, will keep the nick. If someone steals your nick (say they re-register before you do), I'll check the old database to verify that the nick is yours. At that point I'll just kill the person's profile so that you can re-register with your nick. They will then have to pick another nick. As I said before, NOT all of you would need to re-register. The good thing about this place is that between the mods, admins and myself, we know all the oldies, Beta testers etc. So, if you find that you can still logon with your old details (whether you have the game or not), then you weren't purged. Like said, as of now, about 90% of the database will be purged and only the Beta testers, admins, mods and a few known community members who don't fall into either of the above categories, won't be. However, I am still in two minds how to handle this issue of some people not having the game. As of now, there will be NO exceptions. If you don't have the game (regardless of how long you've been here) and a valid serial number, you won't be allowed into some forums. Again, Beta testers are exempt, since they are getting free copies anyway.

The next fool (moderator or admin) who deletes ANY of my posts, is going get an ass whooping like it was Sunday. What happened to my previous post to Kush, in which I told him to go read the frigging FAQ and not to ask me any silly questions? Hey you, Kush, yeah you! Go read the frigging FAQ and don't ask me any silly questions. [ 10-07-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I've banned him. Thanks for the headsup Mike. Going back to Law & Order CI and then UC. You kids better behave. ps: I'm not going to delete his post because its so laughable, I want others to laugh at the ludicrity of it all and see just WHY I don't cut ANYONE slack. I mean, wtf is that about? There are people in this forum who do NOT belong here. They, I'm gonna get rid off. [ 10-07-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Some developer would just say "Look, you had plenty of time, it was no surprise that the game would be out this summer, so if you didn't get it the first time what makes me think that you will get it later. So sorry but no game no registration". Exactly

quote: Originally posted by Kush: Okay, just so I'm clear on this...We can re-register on the General forum without the game, to gain access to all other forums we'll need to have bought the game. I just want to be clear, cause I don't think I'm getting a copy of the game before the 17th, and in case something weird happens with my order, (they misplace my number, they loose it behind a radiator) I would still love to be able to check out the general forum while waiting for my copy. That is correct

BCM runs fine on WIN2K and WINXP. I haven't come across any problems, other than sound and video drivers. You'll only get problems in WINXP with programs that had problems in WIN2K to begin with. Its simple, regardless of what MS tells you (most of which is pure marketing bollocks), WINXP is not a consumer level OS. Stick with WINME or WIN98SE if you want across-the-board compatibility with older programs. Most of WINXP problems are hardware driver related. They are no different from the same problems under WIN2K.

quote: Originally posted by Scott1: Ok relating to my previous questions. what does the AI do. When I asked if the AI ships appear randomly the answer was yes and no. Right now I'm confused and not confused! Just joking, but what does it mean? Is there any pattern to the AI? I'm just trying to figure out how the AI works in this game. There is no pattern. And nobody can explain to you how it works. You don't need to know how it works in order to play the game. quote: Btw, I keep trying to download the demo of this game, but at the times I've checked all the servers have been busy, so thats why I'm asking questions instead of finding out the answers myself in the demo. It sure seems like this game is going to sell like hot cakes. Well thats not what this thread is for. Go play the demo. ps: And the next time you post a topic to the wrong forum, your posting rights will be revoked. I'm not going to keep deleting your off-topic threads. You have been warned.
