I have disabled new registrations and won't be enabling it until the game starts shipping and the new rules are in place. Also, I have deleted all profiles with vanity emails. There were some registered, prior to the rule being in place. This is going to be painful, but on or around 10/15, I am scrubbing the ENTIRE registration database. There are some detractors on this site and I'd like to get rid of them. This means that EVERYONE would be required to re-register. And if you use your same username, then your previous posts will not indicate that you are not registered. Without reservation, the only way anyone is going to gain access to some forums, is if you register and own the game (thats what we need the serial number for). The tech support, demo and general discussion forums will not be subject to restrictions, but you will need to register and be approved, in order to post in them. This is NOT open to discussion Thank You

The script is fine. The briefing and that message should be addressing Dr Rolne, not the Supreme Cmdr. I changed that text awhile back, actually. If you look at .decoy2 again, you will see the explicit IF HERE BC block. That means it won't do anything unless the player is there. By the same token, missions are not supposed to be straightforward. This means that yes, you can proceed to Lennen (as instructed in the mission briefing) or escort Mark and miss a part of it. When I played it, I got to Lennen on time. Regardless of where the shuttle is in Lennen, that check for the BC will always return true. So, even if you did escort Mark to Starpath and then on to Pixan, there is still time to get to Lennen (unless you're goofing off) before the shuttle leaves for GHQ. See what I mean?

There Be Gammulans Here!
Supreme Cmdr replied to LordDavid's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
Once there are enough numbers in a fleet (say, 10 members), they can give their fleet a name and it will be added to the fleet DB. btw, fleets for other alien nations are also allowed, as long as you play by the same rules. As far as AE goes, anyone can have any number of AEs as long as they are no conflicts of interest. e.g. he wouldn't have been able to have an AE in Ter/Mil and Ter/Ins. -
Thats because buildings are handled directly by the NID not the TACSCAN. Its in the manual.

The EP.DOC file in the BC3K appendix contains the medals/EPs for capturing stations. btw, in BC3K, you have do all of the above in one game session, because the capture counter is not stored in the saved game file. At least I don't think it is. That code was done back in 1/29/1999. Don't even think am saving it in BCM, but we'll find out soon enough. [ 10-05-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

quote: Originally posted by schoch1: Hey SC! Will this be addressed in BCM? I hope so...It would be really convienient to unload all cargo in one shot, rather than having to launch and re-dock constantly. Well, thanks for your time! (And thanks for answering, Charles!) As Papi said, there's nothing to address. However, in BCM when you dock, you have access to the cargo holds of your CC and all support crafts.

quote: Originally posted by Urza: For a marine carreer, is it possible to move to another planet, or are you stuck where you first start? In sp you are stuck at that hostile base since the DJP is not enabled in sp and marines can't fly crafts. In mp this is not a problem since DJPs are active and marines can hitch a ride on someone else's shuttle, vehicle or CC.

quote: Originally posted by Urza: I like the way the moon is in the same region as Earth. The way it was handled in BC3K was silly.k There was nothing silly about it. In 1998 did you have a system capable of handling two such entities in the same region? Especially a region with such high activity?

quote: Well I was kind of hoping that I could leave my ship under orders to patrol or waypoints, and take a shuttle two systems away and come back later and find it in one piece. Go play BC3K and you'll have your answer quote: So you can see what you are shooting at up there... Then you should be up there, shouldn't you?

I'll just answer the fuzzy ones. I'll leave hte others to the Beta testers. I couldn't find self destruct... not implemented?Read the final VCF I just posted Does your crew manage your ship better when you leave it?They never did. What are you talking about? Any funny experiences/mistakes while playing?Tons. Like sending your AE to a fighter and having Mother takeover before you had the chance to give the CC a suitable order which wouldn't put it in harm's way. i.e. HALT Any asteroid fields we should be aware of?No. I disabled debris fields because I didn't have time to optimize the code and the way it was handled (there was a huge cheat hack in the BC3K handling. Hopefully will be in the first post-release update. Any nebula?Never were any in a BC title Anything interesting on those gas planets?Yes. Gas Do the AI shoot STO missiles at you? No. Those are for mp only - due to player ability to be in a simulated orbit and killing everyone on the surface below. In sp mode, since you can enter a planet without having to get close to it, putting in specific target tracking AI for STO batteries, was a time-waster; especially since there were other important things to do. does TACOPS on the planet allow for space view? Why should it? Are there surprises we haven't been told of yet?The manual is 125 pages in MS Word and 80 pages in QuarkExpress (the final layout program) and I did it in two days - straight. From scratch. There was some talk of issues with frame rates dropping when a massive fire fight starts up. Has that been cleared up?There was nothing to clear up. More NPCs in a region means more processing. I have uploaded my last Beta VCF update of the VCF. It probably is missing a few items I did prior to burning the Gold version, but I dunno. Anyway, it will give you an idea of whats IN THE BOX. btw, Papi, this thread is a pretty good idea. Hopefully it will distract the natives from beating up on Shirley and co over at VE. Enterprise: The Night of Judgement...
Supreme Cmdr replied to Korono Lakeela's topic in General Chatter
"Missing pilot = missing 1/2 of story." I know, but I wasn't talking about the story. I didn't CARE for the story. How could I when the acting just plain *sucked*. -

The only threat I recall is theatening to hit you with my purse if you called me a tranvestite again. Of course I can't check my post for other things that might be thought of as a threat so if you can clairify that I would apreciate it. As far as an apology I felt and still feel it was a smart ass post in response to a smart ass post. [ 10-03-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Good ideas btw.....I can't wait to see Tac's propaganda ads. That outta be a hoot.
