  1. LOL!!! Now, thats I call improvising Good one, that.
  2. heh, having a static cockpit bitmap is a lot different from having a fully modeled 3D ship.
  3. You are reading the wrong and older VCF included in the demo. Don't you know by now where the regularly updated one is? You're kidding me, right?
  4. Only trouble makers get banned And yes, you are in the proper forum. My post had nothing to do with either issue - if you read most of your posts again, you'll see what I mean. Just play the demo and have fun. Posting about issues you think are bugs, because you don't understand them, is not what I'd like to see. Demos are freebies and unsupported; but that doesn't mean we won't give some assistance if we are so inclined. The issue is that your posts are bordering on being annoying - and that has nothing to do with what you're doing in the demo. Its about what you're trying to do - and that is something I, for one, don't want to see in multiple threads. If something doesn't work. It doesn't work. Period.
  5. Thats what you call formation flying? Pah!! Try this in the E2 demo Go to Tacops and pick a spot on the planet. Preferably in an area where there is a friendly base. Create about 5 waypoints at different distances, altitudes and around the base, near water etc. Make sure WP #1-4 are all Proceed To Next and #5 is Repeat Actions Now enter the planet. Your CC will appear above the location of WP #1 From the bridge, issue the Resume Waypoints order and turn on the A/P Now launch as many fighters as you want and give them all the order to Escort CC Now put your AE in one fighter and launch Now go to some real formation flying While you're at it, observe your other fighters in the F10 cam view, as they intercept the waypoints, fly in formation etc
  6. quote: And how long is a long while? yeah, like am going to tell you that. Cheating bastard
  7. No, its not a bug or it would be in the VCF. Obviously the camera is at a different position that your ship, or you won't see your ship if they were both at the same location. btw, a demo is meant to be played, not for posting what you think are bugs. I am noticing far TOO many nonsensical posts from you. Please tone it down or your posting priviledges will be revoked without warning.
  8. Its the second to last time in the known bugs section of the VCF. Which part did you miss?
  9. quote: So the trick is the, "Wait For Instructions" command, it appears ...only if you want to do that All you have to do to keep your CC at its current location, is to give it the HALT command from the command menu, enable the A/P, and then send your AE where you'd like. This DOES work. So, I dunno why it doesn't work in the demo. When you issue the HALT command and turn on the A/P, you are doing the SAME thing that waypoint order does. You do NOT require a waypoint order to achieve this.
  10. Due to memory constraints, the debris field wasn't cached. It was re-created each time you or an NPC entered it. And flushed when you left. In BCM, it is stored and updated, just like any other data stored in the player api. So, if you completely loot a debris field, you'd have to wait until it is actually reset again - which can take quite a while. Going in and getting out, won't reset it any longer.
  11. quote: But since it's already been established that third party mods for BCM are possible, then the idea has merit, and it's definitely one I'd like to see. It has zero merit because there is no code to support the loading of cockpit bitmaps. Also, even if there was, EVERYTHING on the current bridge/cockpit would have to be relocated in order to fit around whatever bitmap framework is used.
  12. The HALT command does exactly what it was designed to do. Learn how to use it, as per the instructions provided.
  13. quote: I bet the Galaxians will attack in groups of two or three, and will make shrill whistle sounds before they shoot their missiles at you. The Galaxians are pure energy. They won't be needing missiles
  14. Interesting read http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/static/datrip.asp
  15. ..this exploit will be plugged in BCM Just in case you were wondering
  16. Most definitely sounds like a memory issue. Try checking the BC3K FAQ for tips on memory tweaking in autoexec.bat and config.sys
  17. The Galaxians will appear in GCO....in a BEEG way. No, you still can't play as one. Only I can do that.
  18. It will have a full printed manual. The appendix data will be online in HTML format, instead of PDF. There are NO plans to include an online manual.
  19. ....illegal leather huh? What the hell were you planning on doing with it? I take it S&M is alive and kicking in the 29th century, then? [ 08-03-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  20. quote: Sorry bout this guys, but I wouldn't ask only I'm desperate. And don't flame me There's no flaming on this board. So, don't worry about that. Just stick to the rules of posting, and you'll be fine. Thats just not tolerated on this board....unless of course I'm the one doing the flaming. ...and even then, the BC vets, won't let me get away with it, most times. B*astards! You posted in the proper forum and thats the best thing you can do.
  21. Great arguments all around. Just going to confirm a few items already echoed by my all-knowing BC vets bridge chatter is there. You won't hear it unless you go into CONFIG and turned down the music volume and up the sound volume. The chatter voices is playing at a low volume in order to prevent it from being annoying. At over $250 a pop, send me a check for $250x65 (58 crafts + 7 vehicles) and I'll have them done post-release. Of course, doing that many, will take about 6-8 months, easy.I have NO plans atm, to embark on this venture. Not for BCM. Not for GCO. There is an icon on the lower-right corner of HUD which tells you which craft you are sitting in. And if you have to be reminded of which craft you're in....well then. If you need cockpits to convey immersion, you've got issues man And to compare a FULL game (BC3K free) to a demo, is just ludicrous. You should download and play the BC3K demo, in order to make that sort of comparison.
  22. If he's asking how to enter first person mode, it means that he hasn't read the BCM read me file which is also included in the demo. Typical clueless newbie
  23. OK, lemme see if I understand this.. You're not up to speed on the GBS, but you're asking questions about GBS-II? uhm, OK. Anyway, what you're asking, is the most simple aspect of the GBS and which can be achieved using a variety of methods - one of which is what Gallion posted. In fact, the !reach event will do the same thing, without even requiring a user event. As long as the object can reach that target, this event will return true. One line is all it takes.
  24. ...and thats what the radar target filter is for
