Haaalp! Some weird problems with a GeForce2 GTS
GREG MILLER replied to MerfGlurf's topic in General Chatter
Make sure your windows environment hasn't been hosed. I am almost willing to bet a complete format and reinstall will fix both the Vidcard, and Modem problems. -
Choke, Cough, Choke I really need to stop reading these boards while consuming my lunch.

Trust me, you never temp fate. Welcome to Orion Borg12. That now equals Thirty bunny hunters.

Welcome to the war Borg12. I say, why temp fate, if it is meant to be, it is meant to be. You really think your first registration was an "accident"? [ 08-17-2001: Message edited by: GREG MILLER ]

Yep, he hit the nail on the head with that one. I don't know which Voltron you are referring to, but I like the lions better. [ 08-16-2001: Message edited by: GREG MILLER ]

3dFX Glide support for non-3dFX cards
GREG MILLER replied to Joel Schultz's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
This is why I will hang on to my V3 until it ultimately dies. My old machine will not do current gaming well nowadays, but the older Glide only games run perfectly. -
Funny this thread should come up now. I just found out yesterday, my current joystick (Thrustmaster TopGun Platinum) will no longer automatically return to center on the x axis. No this represents a big problem, due to the fact that now I need 2 joysticks, one for the new system, and one for the old. I am currently eyeing up the new offerings from Thrustmaster. hehehe, Tac beat me to the emulators' P4 article. If you haven't yet read that whole article, go read and educate yourself about intel crap!!! Yep, my 1.2ghz T-bird has been up and running over 3 weeks now. Once I get a more capable Vidcard, I will truely be in BCM heaven, as BC3K screams on that thing in SOFTWEAR mode. Current important specs are: Case: Antec KS188 FULL tower Mobo: Tyan Trinity KT-A S2390B PSU: Antec 400w RAM: 512mb Crucial PC133 CAS2 (2x256) CPU: AMD Athlon T-Bird 1200mhz 266fsb I am waiting to see what the ATI R200 brings to the video graphics table, but I have a feeling I will be getting a Gforce3.

$ilk, this may help you out with your memory concerns for both Win98, and WinME. I too fear WinXP, but also fear it will become a standard some day. See anymore software made for Win3.1??? As far as vidcards are concerned I too am wondering. I just put together a new machine over the weekend, specs are: AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz 512megs of PC133 SDRAM Tyan Trinity KT-A Mobo I am not listing any more specs Because the other stuff is just tying me over till I can get the replacements. For example, current Vidcard is a 4meg card that the V3 replaced in the PacBell. I still want to see what the new ATI R200 brings to the table, but am starting to seriously eye up the Geforce3. There is a huge difference between a web cam and digital camera. A webcam is just a camera that records real-time events. A digital camera is basically a picture camera without film. Instead of film, a memory card holds the picture until you d/l it into your PC through a USB port. I currently have a Visioneer 3100b Parralel port Scanner. It serves we well, and you may be able to find one at Office Max. Don't know about the CD, I am working with a 40x and 36x. I know the 36x in the Pacbell was a nice relacement for the stock 2x. If HP, doesn't provide Win2k drivers on its website, I don't know what to tell you, other than see if a generic driver from Win2k will work. [ 07-26-2001: Message edited by: GREG MILLER ]

Trading Guild Logo and Ideas

That does it, you guys have spiked my interest. The next time I see this one on the shelf, I am grabbing it. Thanks Guys.

OMG... Oviously common sense is lacking here. If they really intend on using that Akira look alike, and the show is in the Pre-Kirk timeline.....Then the Francise is truely DEAD! I know if I was Gene Roddenberry's son, I would be on the phone to Hollywood right now. [ 07-10-2001: Message edited by: GREG MILLER ]

As opposed to none, now. [ 06-29-2001: Message edited by: Joel Schultz ] Actualy, that is not all true. The ruling that MS was found to be a Monopoly was uphead and has now been sent back to the lower court to sort out. I actually was a MS supporter when this all broke, but considering where the company is headed with future software, I am not anymore. I can't say weather to break them up or not. I do know that we as consumers can let MS know what we want and don't want. To do that Vote with your wallet! If the current ruling was not given as such, it would have been a sad day for the Judicial System in this Country. Judge Jackson clearly had it in for MS, and if that would have been allowed to stand, God help us all. If you cannot get an Impartial judge to hear your case, then they might as well not even have a trial, and sentence you at the police station. Like I said, I feel MS is getting to big for Bill's britches, but I favor yesterdays ruling for the sake of Justice for All. On a side note, I do not believe in suing your competition just because they make a better product then you do. These other whining companies could have put the money they spent in legal fees, into their R&D departments. I see no reason why MS couldn't add IE to the OS. If you want Netscape, then go get.
