BCM will sell itself. No need for ads. Word of mouth is always the best advertisement.
-
You will see other races flying Stormcarriers. Ships are stolen all the time.

Allow me to assail you with a story of one of my beta testing experiences, Scott1. Perhaps it will give you a small insight into the AI you will deal with in BCM. I had just started a new Roam Campaign with an MK3 Battlecruiser. A Commander fresh out of the academy doesn't have an experienced crew or all the goodies one would need to survive all the really nasty hostiles to be met. So I quickly put the old mining drones to work then proceeded to Earth for a quick landing. Once there, I transferred all the spare parts from the cargo hold into a shuttle, boarded that puppy and headed into space for some quick trading out in Pluto. I had made several round trips between the Science Station that orbits Pluto and GalCom HQ which orbits Earth. I was already starting to amass some cash and I had switched from trading Deflector Arrays to trading OTS nuclear weapons. I had just dropped out of Hyperspace to make the jump gate into the Pluto region when a cloaked Gammulan Stormcarrier began firing on my shuttle. He decloaked right before I went KABOOM, along with several smaller support cruisers who had also been firing on me. I and my Shuttle lasted all of two seconds. It was as if they knew I was becoming a threat, or they didn't want me trading nuclear weapons with the Science Station, or they were getting ready to hit GalCom and didn't want me warning anyone. It was an uncanny, eerie feeling to say the least because Shuttles have no weapons and are "usually" ignored by the NPC's. You are also going to see something else that is going to blow your mind. NPC's flying fighters in formation. I'm not talking about a canned script formation either. They can each, individually, decide to break formation, attack an enemy, or return to base. I could go on for hours and write a book about my experiences. But hey, why spoil it for you? Get the game. You won't be sorry.

ROTFLMAO I bet he gave Heather fleas.... Or Vice-Versa.

Trust me, when I get that hot little game on my hard drive, I will be thanking you many times over!!! The pleasure was all ours. Truly.

Something like a Space Station menu for ship access. don't kill me I was just throwing that up in the air... Yon airlock looms. And as far as MP, what will the marine see if picked up on a shuttle? And can he exit at will? Also, who on your ship is eligible to go to shuttle bay and fly a shuttle? I used to use marines but they weren't very good pilots... Marines-Pilots-Flight Engineers. Maybe all of your NPC personnel. I never tried it. I know the AE, and your pilots and copilots... just wondering. I asked someone before... Rtoolooze if there was a water planet... that was just wondering. Um, but as to things in it now, what does the surface of say... mercury look like and are there ill effects by going somewhere that hot? Flying a ship into a hostile atmosphere will keep your system engineers very busy. That is if you make it back into space.

Suffice it to say, the Gold version will be unlike the Beta or the Demos due to further optimization of the code that we won't get to see until we get our hot little hands on it. Just off the cuff, the last Beta version we tested on ran like a dream on my machine... P-III 1 Ghz 256 MB RDRAM (PC800) NVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS/Pro (64 DDR) SBLive Soundcard MS FF Pro Joystick As for the bugs, there were some really odd ones. Some easy to reproduce, some not so easy. But we found them and the SC squashed them. Detailing them here would be long, tedious, and a tad ludicrous. So, I won't. Wait till the SC gets my bill for cleaning the bug guts out of my system. Prepare to be blown away boys and girls. The JPEG screenshots don't come anywhere near an accurate preview of the game in action. There will be many posts with words like... GASP! OMG! WOOHOO! SOMEBODY KICK SHIRLEY IN THE ARSE FOR BEING A COMPLETE IDIOT! AFTER PLAYING BCM, I WILL NEVER PLAY THOSE POS SPACE SIMS AGAIN. EVER! BCM TOPS THEM ALL! BCM! BCM! BCM! DEREK SMART FOR PRESIDENT! ALL YOU BIGTIME PUBLISHERS JUST GOT SMACKED UPSIDE THE HEAD BY AN INDIE! SERVES YA RIGHT! A DAY WITHOUT BCM IS LIKE A DAY WITHOUT SUNSHINE! SO, YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE ULTIMATE IN GALACTIC COMBAT? BCM! 'NUFF SAID. I'm looking forward to multiplayer with great anticipation. But, I must caution you all because I will be in a real Bugnor mood. [ 10-04-2001: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

You should buy Fendi's car, SC. However, the shipping charges are going to blow. LOL Then we'll start a countdown for its arrival date. [ 09-29-2001: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Fendi, I shall assail you with a few of my favorite quotes: "With age comes knowledge. With knowledge comes wisdom." You still have plenty of time to learn from your mistakes. Shucks, I've been around for 4.7 decades and I'm still learning. "All things come to he who waiteth. But only if he worketh like hell while he waiteth." Why Worry? During life, a person only has two things to worry about: Either you are sick Or you are well. If you are well, there is nothing to worry about. If you are sick, there are only two things to worry about: Either you will live. Or you will die. If you live, there is nothing to worry about. If you die, there are only two things to worry about: Either you will go to Heaven. Or you will go to Hell. If you go to Heaven, there is nothing to worry about. If you go to Hell... You will be so busy shaking hands with friends, you won't have time to worry. In ten years time I see myself wondering if I will ever see retirement.

PLacing data streams on power lines isn't really all that hard, or even a new idea. The power grids in the USA are all running on a 60hz sine wave, which makes for a very stable carrier signal. They can piggyback just about any signal they want on there.
-
The SC did tell us that it is usually a 2 week lead time from Gold to Store Shelves. Patience young Padewans.

Want to see something really weird? The first plane to hit the WTC was flight Q33NY. Type Q33NY into a word processor program then change the font to Wing Dings....

Terrorist Agenda: 1. Do anything to accomplish the goal of removing the U.S. Military from the Persian Gulf. Once that is accomplished..... 2. Attack and destroy Israel. 3. Annex all Arab/Muslim countries with ties to the west. They want to have total control of the resources in the Persian Gulf with the intent of spreading their fanatical Islam throughout the world. It's a simple agenda, but they're going to find out that they can't do it. [ 09-24-2001: Message edited by: Wolferz ]
