  1. I think EA is behind the site...its a conspiracy!
  2. its not on here cause it doesnt belong on here unlike that piece of tripe celsius 411. I heartily agree with the list especially White Chicks and Catwoman. Good grief what was that sound? Was that the sound of Ben Affleck's career coming to an end? One can only dream!
  3. Obviously you didnt see her in the Next Karate Kid huh? Great Rack though.
  4. He does give out a lot of nines doesn't he?
  5. JC was the Gold Standard. All others are simply pretenders. I love Letterman but he is an acquired taste. I detest Leno's mugging and lame jokes but he is popular. JC combined Leno's likeablity with Lettermans wit and did it better than it was ever done or ever will be done. Hail to the King Baby, we'll miss you.
  6. Echo I was so depressed after the Steelers Super Bowl loss in 95' I considered therapy, no crap. It just lingered and got worse. This year I didnt let the hype get me carried away and I just avoided the sports page ESPN and all that for a day or two and I'm over it.Besides I have a Five year old daughter now and she never lets me be down in the dumps too long. Steeler fans are a pretty obsessive bunch; I know peope who are't answering thier phones thier so torn up. Go figure.
  7. My Steelers had a great run and lost to a great team. Nothing to hang your head about.I would like to see Philly win just for the sake of my ole buddy 'Fox but them Pats look damn tough!
  8. I loved the mini series but I'm not sure about the season opener. Gee, wonder waht the SC thinks about it?
  9. ditto, I thought Topher Grace was really really good, suprisingly so.

Frax dont leave us in the dark! Enlighten us,Please Obi Wan you're our last hope.
  11. so its like the presidential election? no body voted for Bush but he's elected again? People voted and whoever they are they don't share your taste. Get over it! I don't watch award shows anyway they are surpassed in thier irrelavance only by beauty pagents.I spent that night watching Rear Window and the 39 Steps. Hitchcock rarely dissappoints me.
  12. Zane has some good points. The best Sci-fi as visual art seems to be on TV. Actually Zane and Scriv in a sense agree with eachother. The indie films Scriv refers to in a sense are TV shows with smaller budgets and expectations. Dune (The Mini series) 4400, Taken and the like at least try to tackle some of the big issues that literature does so well. Studios are more driven by profit have greater expectations and play to wider markets. TV shows can focus on thier core audience without dumbing down the script. I have high hopes that as a Visual medium sci-fi will continue to thrive
  13. Maybe so Steve but I think gfiven the circumstances that was a logical conclusion. Just not one that turned out to be correct.
  14. Jag that wasnt very nice. Sometimes I really wonder about you. You basically insulted her and anyone who thought well of her. Apparently like many of your conservative bretheren decency is no longer a virtue. I was always taught not to speak ill of the dead and when Reagan died I was able to do so and so should you.
  15. I'll watch just because of miss Arquette. Ive been a fan every since she beat the hell out of Tony Soprano in True Romance.
  16. All I have to say is DHS-5
  17. Thank God for TiVo
  18. I like Fincher, Fight Club was brilliant as was Se7en. I don't know about the other guy. I wasn't a fan of Donnie Darko. What ever happened to Richard Linklater? ( Dazed and Confused , Slackers) he showed some promise.
  19. " not neccessarily activist.." That is a very scary quote. EA is the 800 pound Gorilla and if something doesnt happen in ten years there will be about three developers in the industry. Maybe Im naive about the gamer industry but I know how corporations work and diversity in gaming may soon be a thing of the past. This can tbe a good thing.
  20. Are there any directors out there who put asses in seats and/or create films that move people and drive pop culture anymore? As a film buff I like to watch movies by specfic directors to study thier style, approach and how they view the world. Ford , Wyler, Wilder and Huston i really dig. I also love Kramer, Welles, Hitchcock, Kubrick, not to mention foriegn film directors Kurasawa, Bergman and Almodovar (Women onthe Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.. Tie Me up.etc..)I can also see anything by John Sayles (Matewan& Lone Star standout) However I can barely name any director sans Speilberg and Scorcese that standout as dominant forces in American film. So many movies now or either "indie" films which means no box office or blockbusters which generally means no plot story or creativity, and we are asked to choose between the two since having both is a no-no. Maybe I'm dense but can someone (Scriv maybe) restore my faith that every film isnt a product of a corporate board or the vanity project of an overexposed under talent "movie star" Cite examples please.
  21. I don't know whether or not I like Wes Anderson as a director or not. I had the same feeling you did Scriv after leaving. I feel Wes is attempting to play with the medium of film in a very tounge in cheek look ma no hands method that in the end very hit or miss. More miss than hit..6/10
  22. Amen, Ijust hope the 4400 sees the light of day again
  23. Okay three is definitely a trend. Reportedly Showtime is cancelling its clever, critically acclaimed series Dead Like Me, despite its popularity. Anyone who watches a Genre show on Showtime is nuts. Its no wonder they are nothing but an HBO wannabee.
  24. Gee Jamaotto even if Rumsfeld did sign the letters it would still be getting done by a cold heartless machine, what the diff? I dont for a minute buy his statement as a slap against the Clinton Admin. Rumsfeld and his ilk look at our troops as cannon fodder for thier own political gain and his statement reflected that sentiment. However I still feel this signing thing is muchado about nothing and that this is piling on by some folks who could have made their dissent/disagreement felt in a more effective manner. Its called an election. We had one. Now live with the consequences and stop *****ing over stuff that is inconsequential.
  25. ditto,it's time someone drew a line in the sand. and hypocrite is not the word that comes to my mind!
