Americans are known worldwide to be insensetive and intolerant, but I never dreamed those perceptions were true,until I see crap like that held up as patriotic. I too celebrate and love Christmas but I am not threatened or offended if someone else doesnt. Why is that offensive? People founded this country to seek freedom of religion and now that we are here we should forget that?It sounds to me that there are some who miss the days when people who looked and sounded different than what SOME people view as "Americans" were seen and not heard You'll pardon me if I dont pine for the "good ole days" as they were more good for some than others.

Where have you been $ilk? You have written a well thought out reasoned post that does arouse hope; at least it does in me. While I answer the question " are you a liberal or conservative?" by saying no, I have what I consider progressive political views with moderate leanings. For example I beleive in a strong reasoned military, I am against abortion,and I beleive in the second ammendment. Because I dont support rampant militarism, the pro-life movement or the right to own an automatic weapons I am pigeon-holed as a weak kneed liberal. The truth is in many ways we have become two Americas, and I hope this too shall pass.

Over 350 tons of high explosives appears to be missing in Iraq. No telling how much has already been used against US troops. The much hated UN warned the Bush administration that this stockpile was a target, but apparently somehow it was overlooked, and in thier haste to find WMD's they neglected to secure the HE, which is so powerful according to CBS news it can be used to trigger a nuclear explosion and a mere one pound was used to down the Pan Am flight over Lockerbie. Guess this stuff wasnt quite destructive enough to warrant the adminstrations attention. As to where it is..I'm sure some genius on this site will blame the democrats! No wonder Bush is unsure about the eventual triumph over terrorism.

It still amazes me that no matter how much titles improve for consoles people still doggedly refuse to accept they may have some value. I think it comes down to a lot of snobbery. I have a friend who hates console games ( though he had never yet played one) ranted about the inherent evil of platform gaming ad nauseum...as if to like one format forever prevents you from playing the other. If you want to hold the title of computer game geek just so you could look down on consolers, have at it.. Fable is a damn good game and anyone who refuses to play it because of the platform it is on should renew thier membership to the Flat Earth Society.

Why ? What does it matter? The truth matters very little in a political campaign, particularly when the right feels threatened. The real truth is one candidate has a criminal record and the other one doesnt. One went to war was shot and commanded men under fire and the other can find maybe five people who can verify his service. Both are rich and married up; one for money and the other for beauty and integrity. Both are loved and loathed and both will have people vote for them no matter what truth is aired about thier real motives, ideas, convictions, and qualifications. Anyone on this board who pretends to posses some truth that we others dont have is simply deluded. It comes down to what your core beleifs are and best represents them , simple as that.

If you do you have most certainly gone round the bend.Beware the people sneaking up to your house..they arent the ATF, they are from the loony bin. That unit refused orders and they will be dealt with. For whatever the reasoning we can be assured it was not politically motivated and I'm confident that Command will get to the bottom of it. I am concerned however about the wisdom of leaving reservist posted for such a long time and the effect on the moral of the professional soldiers they support. I also question the widsdom of mounting a logistically difficult mission in a hot zone with what appears to be universally substandard equipment and vehicles.
