  1. I am finally gainfully employed again! After 3 months of search I finally got a good position. The funny thing is I went from being unemployed to having three simotaneous offers( All last week!) I had to choose which one was the best fit. The winner added six thousand dollars to thier original offer and called me yesterday (Saturday) while I was washing the cars. I am now the Asst. Director of large Alternative treatment center. More responsibility, more prestige ( I have a secretary!)amd more money. Like Remo said sometimes change is a good thing. Sadly, I move from being a fulltime therapist to management, but I welcome the challenge. Just thought you guys would like to know since so many of you were supportive of me during this down period. To all of you thanks again!
  2. The BP's fine Wolfie, you might want to direct that message to Kalshion though. I agree with both of you on a lot of points, but SSA is needed, just not in its present form. Unfortunately I have working knowledge of the application process. Many of my former clients had to apply and I once told one of them, that if they had both legs and arms cutoff they would still be denied the first time through! I also think we need to remove money as a determining factor in political races. Each candidate should get the same amount to run thier campaign on or advertising spots should be free like PSA's. I really think that would enhance the political process in this country.
  3. you gave up the answers to soon!
  4. Hate blinds people. You are blind to some things, that much is clear. You also appear to be quite young, which while isn't a crime, does explain some of your positions. If the Republicans went after Clinton with so much zeal over a hummer in the Oval office, explain thier lack of action on a Treasonable offence ? You are certainly within your rights to have certain opinions, regardless of how wrong or misguided they may be. You do however have my respect for putting your convictions on the line by serving your country. That is more than I can say about a lot conservo's who bandy about for war without ever risking their or thier sons and daughters necks. Lastly what facts and what History books are you referring to? From 1980 till today we have had three Republican presidents who have pretty much done as they pleased (well maybe not George Sr. so much)They have appointed alarge number of Fedral judges and filled the Supreme court with conservative judges. Please illustrate where thye have been prevented from governing?
  5. Gee there's a suprise. The things I'm referring to were ordered by executive action of the president. Which can be overturnrd by executive action. They include land designated by Clinton as wildlife preserves, and federally protected areas. Bush also went to work changing the standards for how the Gov deals with violations of the the Clean Air Act. I MAJORED in government and Poly SCI my first two years in college (that would be my Undergraduate degree, not my Master or the Doctorate I'll soon be pursuing). Presidents can in a limited way use the power of the executive branch by issuing an executive order, for example he could concievably appoint a federal judge he knows cant get confirmed by the Senate, when they are not in session. Of course the appointee can only serve for a limited amount of time before he or she would have to be confirmed but the Pres. does have that authority. While you are at it, look up the word traitor as well. Clinton made some collosal mistakes and acted without personal honor, but his actions fall short of being a traitor. I know that it is how most of you justify vicious attacks on him. Even lying ass Nixon wasnt a traitor. You should be careful how you throw that word around young'un.
  6. SC is really choked up, its just his way of dealing with things. I hope you resolve your RL issues and come on back home.
  7. It's too close to the truth to be funny, at least the Gameboy part...
  8. Fox, Ill just wait for you to ship it to me when you finish with it. You can include them with my Dune Novels HA,HA.
  9. Dont want to leave out the lily livered Democrats who are trying to milk this for all it is worth. Their time would be better spent growing some gonads and focusing on the many f**k ups we know Bush is responsible for. This is not one of them.
  10. To what end? They would be discounted as there is no money in it for Oil companies. Oil is a nonrenewable fuel source. Whether it is 50 or 200 years, the clock is ticking. Only a fool would continue sucking on that tit witout looking for a replacement. But by all means, keep driving Hummers and Expeditions, just make sure you got a horse in the barn to pull it later. As to the hearings, both sides are shameless in thier deception of the gullible American public. The only laugh I got was when Rice talked about only being in ofice 233 days. They still had time to reverse nearly every environmental protection, line the oil companies pockets with money, and promptly "forget" about thier policy of compassionate conservatism. I also got a kick out of the memo's not giving them the who, where, why and how on the attacks. As Margeret O'Dowd said "Paging Nancy Drew.." They were certainly able to take action in Iraq with minimal intelligence. I mean the Germans gave them one of the hijackers name and phone number! What else did they need his Email address? bloodtype, coffee preferences at Starbucks? This administration's ability to deny thier own mistakes is only surpassed by thier ability to commit them. ( Hold my hand Unca Dick, I'ma scared!)
  11. Ditto,The wife and I cleaned up our credit and bought our home eight years ago and lo and Behold, here come the credit card offers! I came home one day and found a preapproved 10,000 dollar platnium card. Before i knew it we had six cards and was 63,000 dollars in debt! After much harranguing, handwringing and with the help of Comsumer Credit Counseling service, we've been able to cut that to 13,000. We do not have ANY credit cards, getting by using debit cards. I thankfully have found a few places that accept layaway and for really big purchases save up or wait for Tax refunds. I will never have another credit card again and caution anyone from this latest form of economic slavery.
  12. I have a Zire 71 , it's my second Palm and I am quite happy with it. If you desire a pocket pc I would say go with the HP but as I have two PC's at home and my wife's spiffy new laptop arriving soon , I see no need for duplication of services. I have been able to locate some very useful software for my line of work (SoapDish) which allows me to keep clinical notes, update patients medication dosages and even assist in DSM IV diagnosis. It also has a built in digital camera, expands to an MP3( with memory card upgrade). Because the new positions I am being considered for are all sattelite clincics I will have to keep in touch and post schedules using Outlook which is easy on the Zire 71. The Zire is an upgrade over the model you want and is available at the Palm website for the same price ( 50.00 rebate) Check it out.
  13. The biggets difference between the two is heightened expectations. We were starved for Science fiction on tv and Star Wras had wheted are appetites. Even Star Wars came out of nowhere. I went to see it hoping to see something good but expecting something like Battle Beyond the Stars. Now the genre is so strong the expectations so great nothing could live up to the hype(or at least very little). You do bring up good points about the original and there were some very good episodes. However ultimatley it is hard to get rid of the bad taste of the crappy episodes and that abysmal Galactica 1980 out of my mouth and mind.
  14. It actually looks like you could actually drive it. That is more than I could say about the last incarnation. Personally, I love the first one from the original series. When I was a kid I put a model of it together and it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.
  15. Is any of that for real?
  16. My God Jag you have a sense of humor. That was pretty good though you may have to explain the cultural reference of "who's on first" to the under 30 crowd. Where did you get that?
  17. The fantasy league gov is ALREADY in office. The draft was held in the Supreme Court a few years back. If it was me I'd vote for two teenagers. One would be the fat kid who recorded the hit song " The Super Bowl is Gay" and the kid standing behind Bush on the podium taking golf swings, cracking his neck and checking his watch while yawning. They would get my vote.
  18. $ilk you are correct however the same cant be said for some of your ..colleagues
  19. Jag those reasons are actually reasonable. Too bad that isnt what your boy told the people who elected him. He didnt have enought faith in the real thrust of his actions and resorted to cheap scare tactics. Flimsy links between Al Quaida and Saddam (whom they viewed as western and non spiritual) hinting at immenient risk they were reasonably sure didnt exist, implyimg the 9-11 was Saddams doing was cowardly and reprehensible. Bush knew the country wouldnt buy the truth so he constructed a new one, like many politicians do. Also why do continue to list UN violations on one hand and blast them for being irrelevant on the other? And what do you have a crystal ball? Are you Kreskin? How are you so sure that Kerry's election will result in the end of the Republic.? You sound like some of my liberal freinds making the same remarks about Bush. For a patriot you show a suprising and dissappointing lack of faith in our country. We will survive Kerry or (shudder) four more years of old stay at home George. I suspect 20 years from now you'll have your surly old ass still parked in front of the keyboard imploding liberals, our country will still be great and standing tall because that is who we are.
  20. Street isnt the only one who has done somename calling. I have been called a fool ,a coward , brain damaged etc..the only difference is you guys are a bit more clever. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. You have introduced the element of insult as discussion its only fair you take it like a man. Also it would be nice if one of the moderators were actually MODERATE
  21. You guys should get laid more often. Don't you ever take a break? No room for diversity in your tent hence all the minorities lining up to get in. No thanks there is no room for me in the nimrod nation. If liberals ***** what is it those guys do on the radio? That apperas to be the essence of thier arguments. There is room on the air for everyone if you dont wanna listen change the f**king station!
  22. Street you are wasting your time. You will plant no flags here. Thier beleifs like are intransigent. It makes no sense to discuss a subject with someone who has already made up his mind on this and every other subject. They will pick what they consider the weakest paert of your argument out and then drown you with a post long enough to choke Vanessa Del Rio. They will quote right wing idealogues as bearers of truth and demonize anyone who disagrees as a traitor or a fool. Thier intent is to flabbergast you long enough to keep your eyes from the truth, or frustrate you to the point of hysterics. Take a break, have a beer have sex or something but dont give them the satisfaction. $ilk, I meant no disrepect to ANYONE who has served thier country under fire, but Bush dont fall in that category and Kerry does. Why turn to conspiracy theories just cause the truth doesnt suit you? Oh I forgot that tactic number 26 in the "Karl Rove, you too can be a Republican handbook!" I'll pass on the book and wait for the movie, which I hear will be "Wag The Dog II: The Dog Bites Back"
  23. I know some of my conservo friends will say "not again" but this is there fault. Like movies were say 22 years ago, video games are now recognized as being huge cash cows. Creative decisions will probably (like the film industry) be made more and more by bean counters pointing to pie charts and target marketing. That is why we get movies that are more and more indistinguisible from one another, franchises and sequels. They make money because of the Harlan Ellison factor. Ellison posits that 94% of everthing is shit. The masses love mediocrity, how else can you explain the popularity of the Dukes of Hazzard? This appears to be bleeding over the gaming industry. Replication equals cash because the " average American" is culturally retarded, doesnt read, watches too much tv,and wants the same thing over and over again. Many of these clones are now gamers! They want a game that "just like the movie!" The only hope is that like independent filmmakers, independent developers continue to press on. SC is like the Jim Jaramuch or John Sayles of the gaming industry. I hope he aint the only one.
  24. Frac, try the Maudite easily the best beer taste and least yeasty!
