  1. uhm, good idea, but you're not going to find people posting duplicate information. e.g. if you did a search under trading, you will find several hints and tips on trading. [ 05-03-2004, 04:27 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  3. hehe, well both games have their strengths. If you have the horsepower to run it, then UC is your best bet; but of course, with two games, you have 2x as many missions, variations etc etc.
  4. quote: Originally posted by typhon: I have just bought 2 games under an offer which were BCM gold edition and universal combat. Which is the better/later version of the game BCM gold or UC? Where did you get this offer at? UC was originally BCG, the sequel to BCM (which has an interim Gold edition). As such, it [uC] is still a member of the BC series and as such is a much more advanced version of BCM/Gold. Due to its graphics requirement, you may not be able to run UC unless you have a card with a vertex shader.
  5. Article over on US News about EA

  7. CSG is useless for building games because the internal solids are not visible and just take up volume space if constructed as such. Some models have no choice buy to model internal volumes, but its not a way of resources. Most models used in games are just as well be hollow.
  8. For the FX cards, you can find the 60.x drivers over on guru3d.com. They still haven't fixed it on the GF4 cards.
  9. Oh yeah, thats what I want to do, mess with a module and create a potentially fatal problem in order to solve a non-fatal one. Right.
  10. Its not speed related. No matter how fast its going, if it encounters a ridge with a very sharp angle, it may end up under it. In BCM/G, the speed of the drone was 100 m/s. In UC it is 30 m/s and I recently reduced it (so that shuttles/personnel can better keep up with them). I have already described what I think is happening, in the VCF. You might want to read it.
  11. *moved* Saying it crashes to desktop doesn't help at all. And if you don't know what patch you have, then you haven't patched it. You might want to uninstall it and re-install, then apply the patch following the instructions in the FAQ. If you patch it incorrectly, it will crash. v1.09.01 is the final BCM version. If want anything newer than that, you have to buy BCM Gold from a retailer that carries it. Several online retailers including EB, Gamestop, Chips 'n Bits etc, all carry BCM Gold. ...then there's UC, but unless you have a system to run it, don't bother. 12. The appendix is contradictory (I have now corrected it). It should read quote: This device enhances the ship's hyperjump engines. When installed, hyperjumps require only 10 units of Radine (regardless of the engine/reactor types) and the recharge rate is instantaneous.
  13. uhm, what game do you have?
  14. quote: Originally posted by chanys: I just figured it was natural decay of a system, as in, you can only fix the thing so many times. ...and some systems can operate just fine at 90% as they can at 100%. Unless you're an obssessive compulsive, there's no need to panic just because a system is not 100%.
  15. OK, who is first in line to get banned for taking my thread off-topic?
  16. quote: Originally posted by Pugwash: OK so the ENM does NOT do exactly what it say on the box. Wot?
  17. quote: Originally posted by Joel Schultz: But those drones have a tendency to wander pretty far over time. The furthest one ever ended up from my drop point was 40 km -- I had originally set it down in a nice level spot (a city) and during its Brownian walk it traveled to and beyond another nearby city. Those things encounter all sorts of hilly terrain once they wander off far enough. Hence why I like to keep a close eye on them. There are no limits on where they can/cannot go. They have a roving algorithm which is completely autonomous.
  18. LOL!! Looks like you're putting those poor bastards through basic training?
  19. If you read the FAQ, you will see a list of single player features which are disabled internally and cannot be enabled via the server config INI file. As for the server INI file. Read the manual and its addendum.
  20. quote: Originally posted by dmraven: Is this right for system spec signature? No. There is a forum thread which shows you how to do it properly. Go read it.
  21. quote: Originally posted by chanys: according to the perscan the system engineer goes to the required spot but at the end of that minute that he gets there, he leaves. (makes sence since it was the same start and end time) However, he leaves without actually fixing anything. The CE doesn't fix anything. Have you actually read the manual?
  22. Thats not what this thread is for. So knock it off.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Pugwash: Can't help you with 2 yet I haven't got that far with UC only got my copies 7 days ago, I know what happens in BCM /G but want to check it's the same in UC before I post Artifacts and upgrades in UC work the same way they did in BCM Gold.
  24. quote: Originally posted by dmraven: Ok I'll wait for final 1.0.0.2 patch for the throttle issue thanks for the info. Pay attention. There are NO new control fixes in the final upcoming patch. Apart from what I already implemented in the RC7 patch (and which will be in the final 1.01.00 patch) related to the throttle controls, nothing new is planned nor going to be implemented.
