quote: Actually grabbing the ENM from the Salamanda is what I consider to be the shinning moment in my BC3K career. The reason being that it's a real pain in the butt tracking down that cloaked Storm Carrier. hehe, now you know what I was thinking when I wrote that particular script

Great New Idea . . .
Supreme Cmdr replied to Commander ZIX's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
quote: I'm new and allowing for that, I have a new Idea. How about a fleet that only recruits newbies. that would give them a good chance to join a fleet that shares their perspective. Of course, being the one who thought this up, I was kinda hoping that I could be the fleet's commander No. Now siddown -
Mascot, do me a favor and STOP!. You don't have frigging clue what you're talking about. I've done the deal, and thats the way it is. EB do NOT have rights to the game outside the US. During that 90-day period, if I get a good offer from a distributor, I will do a deal which releases the game in Europe as soon as it is practically possible. Anyone buying from the US (you can't anymore, and not for 90-days, because EB are no longer allowed to sell it outside of North America) will have to pay the price as-is. Thats the price for not waiting. Nothing to do with me and there is NOTHING that I can do about it. Since EB are no longer allowed to sell outside of NA, anyone who wants it, can have someone in the US buy it and ship it for them. Thats the way it is.

I've implemented the joystick twist axis in BCM.

Lum is a classic idiot. God that was funny. I was laughing so hard, I think I could hear the piece of metal in my skull, rattling about. To wit: quote: [20:41] If some one trys to steal you tank lum ask them to teach you how to drive it

The SVGA mode that BC3K uses is probably not compatible with your ATI Radeon. Either that, or its the sound card ...or memory configuration
-
OK, you were talking about the intro music then. Yes, its quite good, that.
-
Basically yes. Anyway, its one of the wish-list features on the cut list. If I don't implement it before shipping, it won't be in the final game, but most likely in the multi-player patch.
-
Yes. I will be releasing the GBS system, complete with model and terrain editors.
-
heh, you must be thinking of the music industry. In the gaming industry, Gone Gold just means that the final game is now on a CD-ROM (usually a high-quality Gold disk) and off to manufacturing.

Will we finally get to *really* know them?
Supreme Cmdr replied to Joel Schultz's topic in General Chatter
quote: Why no PDF? Because it makes pirating the game that much easier. I didn't care much for BC3K v2.0, since it was a budget release anyway. I have more at stake with BCM. Anyone who pirated BC3K v2.0x, instead of paying $20 to actually buy it, is an idiot and a fool. quote: Another thing: why won't you let unprofessionnal fans try to make a story? Or help you for anything else? It's free, and since it is, it's not made for the money, it's made for fun an for the interest of the game. It's adding stuff without adding production-costs. Its a lot more complex than that. And no, I'm not going to do it. Period. quote: And you have all the possibilities of modifying the stories, rejecting them, and to put them under your copyright. Babysitting stuff like that is not what I'm up for. quote: I just want to know why. I know I can't help very much, but I see here a few people that could help you make a even better game. You may not have the time to do the stories, but some people on the board do have that time, and some of them even have the talent.Just want to know why. Irrelevant. I don't take my copyrights and trademark property lightly. And to murky it with the addition off public, is just asking for trouble. I don't get involved in all the role-playing that goes on in the forum, because they don't affect my property in any shape of form. But when it comes to something that actually affects my creation, in any shape or form, thats a definite no-no. There is no discussion here. The answer is no. And I'm not likely to change my mind. -
There are no DOS Glide wrappers. So Glide wrappers won't work with BC3K. Its a DOS game.

He must be sending those emails to Mars, since I haven't received any such email from him.

Yep, I enjoyed FS2 immensely. Too bad it didn't do well at retail though. *sigh*

uhm, amidst reports that Infogrames was going to ship I-War2, even though it wasn't ready, well, they've uhm....shipped it. Can't wait to read about the fallout from this one. Don't they EVER learn? Oh, and is this that Pablo Luna guy?

quote: Only some missiles (Vagrants, Ralixes, and Questors, I believe) have telemetry data. That would be missiles with a build in video camera (/V designated missiles) quote: And no, I don't think you can switch between them, though I might be wrong. I think he means cycling through in-flight missiles. In which case, missiles can be selected in the Tacscan and observed in the F10 cam view, just like any other object. quote: Not only that, but if my ship is moving at a slow speed, so does the missile. In some cases, it detonates less than ten kilometres from my position about twenty seconds after launch. Read the above posts again

Will we finally get to *really* know them?
Supreme Cmdr replied to Joel Schultz's topic in General Chatter
quote: Will that depth be finally filled out? As I've said before, I'm the only one who has that information and since I'm busy developing the game, there is no chance in hell that I'm touching that. Plus, I still have to do the BCM manual. That guy I hired, (after he contacted me about it), took my $1000 advance, (out of the total $2500 agreed upon, with the bal being due on completion) recycled my own stuff (which I had sent him) and sent it to me as work-in-progress (*after* cashing my check) almost a month later!! At which point I asked him to just forget it. And he never returned my money, claiming that he had the work on paper notes, which is why the MS Word docs didn't seem to have anything new in it. As if that helps me. Of course, I never received the paper versions either. So, I just turned it over to the attorney to handle. Last I heard, we were suing him. I've learned my lesson. So now, I have to do the manual myself, as I did before. The point is, the BCM manual will contain data required to PLAY the game. Nothing else. It will use the same/similar format that I used for the BC3K v2.0x manual and only the appendix stuff will be online. The main manual will NOT be available in PDF format. quote: One more thing, call me weird but, I think the MIDI music is kinda cool OK. You're weird as I don't think anyone liked that music. I didn't either. heh

quote: I just ordered(bid) on a copy of BC3000AD at AMAZON, $13 including shipping. That is the only place I could find it. Just make sure that it is v2.0/v2.07 (boxed in the US) or v2.07/v2.08 (boxed in Europe) and not the older v1.0!!!!

No Nothing to do with the Warmonger No Yes. Debug mode gives you FC&C over any entity in the game

I am currently using Softlocx, for protecting the Beta versions. Even that, has its own internal flaws (premature expirations etc), apart from there being cracks available on the Net (at least thats what I'm told). I am going to probably be using SafeDisc 2.0 protection, for BCM. At any rate, as complex as this game is, if anyone in their right minds want to crack it, thats their problem.
