Just got the newsletter. They have gone from beta to a version 1.0 release. It's a 749528 byte update. Still sucks if no one uses it. Hint, hint. -
Ok I watched the tape. Concerning the recording. The english speaking computer generated voice states that it is "iteration 17294531" then gets up to about ~35 before they wuit overlaying the recording on the scene. I watched tonight's episode. just seemed like back story for the most part. fraXis!!!!!!!!!!

Gadget Helps Women Use Bathroom in Japan

The pillow gives me the willies. A disembodied arm? Then again, I also will flush to mask awkward sounds. I hate it when people at work want to chit chat with you when you are doing your business. The urinal is not so bad but the other??? Yup I'm modest. Hey! We all know we do it but it's not a pleasant thought. -

The VP debates and Farenheit 9/11
Charles Lindsey replied to Takvah's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Edwards tried to hammer in the points of the previous debate and DID sound very repetitive and actually used word for word some of the phrases from the previous debate. But towards the end he came into his own and Cheney got flustered several times and repeated the same phrases that lead us into Iraq. If you want to know the truth about it I firmly beleive someone can vote for the use of force "if absolutely necessary" and then back pedal if things don't seem like they were presented. -

I had a female friend over once and had to excuse myself for a second. When she nosily asked what I had been doing I looked her square in the eye and said "Gaseous Expulsions". -
quote:fraXis: He wasn't explaining black and white, he was explaining light and dark. Two different things. I am aware of that. But I am from the "Deep South". Perhaps I am hypersensitive to such issues because that. I apologize. quote:fraXis: J.J is already planning season 2.Just as Scrivener guessed. Two, maybe three, seasons max. Especially if they DO kill people off and it progresses to one person sending a distress signal. Which would be cool too. hehe. quote:fraXis: I wouldn't exactly put it as the "polar bear arrives". I would say something more along the lines as the "polar bear attacks". Hmmmm. You are a cruel, cruel, man. quote:fraXis Going back to the dog, any thoughts Dr. Jack's encounter with the dog in part 1? Sadly, I don't have EP1. I only watched the second episode because Scriv posted , Derek affirmed, and there was nothing else on at the time. The previews that I saw did not make it out to be a a spooky, supernatural show. The previews I saw only made it out to be a kind of "we have a murderer in our midst" show. While sometimes good I kinda like what "Lost" is turning out to be. EP2 should be on a tape I can get tomorrow. [ 10-02-2004, 02:25 AM: Message edited by: Cmdr Chavik ]

I have thought on that. I felt it odd that a white man was explaining to a black boy the difference between light and dark and didn't want to touch it. If I won't get you in trouble fraXis I wouldn't mind knowing how you seem to be clued in. You got a good gossip site or are you connected to the show? Kung-Fu Massa: They can't kill too many people or no show. Unless Scriv is right and it was intended to be a closed end series. I also thought that the show might track the comic book through some supernatural device. But the comic book is in spanish! No one understands it yet. I also found it odd the boy wanted his dog and then someone saw his dog. Then he reads the comic book and the polar bear arrives. But to different people. If it were a wish thing wouldn't the polar bear have shown up to the boy? All speculation of course.

See my edit above. They didn't stick with Dan Rather though. There were plenty of other commentators dissecting the debate and saying that it will take America several days to mull this debate over and come to a conclusion. Golly Gee thanks Mr. Talking Head.

Yes, CBS had it. The whole thing live and uninterrrupted. I have now flipped over to ABC and they are still doing live commentary. Edit: But I guess they got rushed. They just switched to Jimmy Kimmel.

quote:originally posted by Kalshion I was switching between CNN and Fox new's at home and CNN NEVER covered it LIVE CNN is not an airwave television broadcast. What are called "networks" are the traditional airwave broadcast people. Meaning you can pick it up with a black and white TV with Rabbit ears. I watched the entire thing on CBS. Just because it had the best reception tonight.

quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: I was looking for a "their you go again" Or "I do not think my opponents youth should be a factor in this campaign" etc. Where are the zingers? The memorable lines, the one piece that just jumped out and grabbed you? I mean in 2000 it was Gore getting in Bushes face. This was just a GREAT big YAWNER for me..... 32 pages of rules fixed that.

Nah it's a little more subtle than that. FIRST the girl says she can't speak french then she gets called on it and basically says ok ok I'll listen. After SEveral tries she begins ro remember her french and start translating. MEANWHILE, math dude is listening to the counter (in English I think due to peotic license for the benefit of the viewer)and has the revelation that it is indeed a counter. They discuss this in the dialogue. Ok, this is a very spooky and dramatic "Lost World". Animals out of place and possibly time. Already a humongous unknown entity that could be a supernatural entity. But still cool. I look forward to next week.

Bush did much better than I thought. Both did well. I declare no absolute winner but rather still up to everyone's opinion.

I watched it. First impressions. Neato cool. Starting to remind me of the campy late Sunday night show Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Lost World" except that this one isn't campy. I love shows where people play off each other as in the relationships building or tearing down.

Deploying FCs (with the AE as a pilot)
Charles Lindsey replied to SG's topic in Universal Combat Series
I'm sorry you are having trouble but I just did it in multiplay. I started a new multiplay game and sent one pilot to "on station". That opened up a slot to assign the commander ( me, the AE ) to be FC1 Pilot. I assigned me the AE as FC1 pilot. He walked to to fighter and after a couple minutes the FC1 light turned bright green. I launched and had a heck of a good time killing intruders in my region. Till I got killed by some neutral assasin or some such. In other words: It Works Here. -
quote:Have you ever heard of a sense of humour Grizzle? perhaps he just might have one? Ya think? Nope. I saw that live. It certainly appeared he was frazzled by the question. I myself am not quick on my feet so to speak but Bush seemed more angry that he got thrown an unknown question than that he didn't have a ready answer. Just my opinion

Deploying FCs (with the AE as a pilot)
Charles Lindsey replied to SG's topic in Universal Combat Series
When you start a new game FCs are fully prepped (ready) and can launch immediately. It's only when they return that you must ready them for a subsequent launch. You might have screwed that game and may need to start a new one. If you start a new game launch FCs immediately. If that works have them "return to base" and then prep them for a new launch. Takes six minutes or so. Then send one pilot off duty. THen assign your AE to be the pilot of that FC. Wait till the AE gets into the FC (not the bay) by watching perscan. THEN click launch (per steps above) and see what happens. If you only want to fly an FC then in the start new game screen use the drop down arrow to make yourself a pilot instead of a commander. Play with it that way. Then when you want to be a commander and "switch" to piloting your own FC try it again.
