quote:Also, what is a practical way to pay for the massive ammounts of Radine needed during a Campaign, when there is really no time to mine with back to back missions? You can mine a planet or moon, but you can also 'mine' space. At the end of a mission, or just whenever you have a decend stretch of time available, head over to a debris field. When you're in it (being in eiter the BC or shuttle), a number of cargo boxes should pop out. Get them while their hot!!! And I do mean they sometimes GET HOT. Had a number of premium upgrades and primary systems in those boxes. Use your shuttles to collect. There should be several threads about this subject laying around here, or in the tips section.

Race/Caste logos updated
Rico Jansen replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
IIRC there was discussion about the possiblility of wings having their own identifying logos (quite a while ago). But as it seems on the pages linked by the SC only fleets will get to have their own logos (instead of their wings). I mean, I didn't see any fleet/wing tree. What's the deal? Change of hart on this? Perhaps 4 pics (race/org/fleet/wing) in your sig would be getting a bit too much, but then again, an animated gif is a nice way of solving that. To specify my question above, the section "FLEET WINGS" on the logo page, would such a logo in that category have to identify your: _fleetX_ (no visual wing identification) or _wingX_of_fleetY_ (x times Y logos = alot of pics looking a bit similar) or _wingX_alone_ (assuming everyone knows which fleet it belongs to) As for my 2c about the quality of the logos, I liked Galcom's old logo more, but the new logo's fit better (all together)into BCM I think. And I guess any organisation has to change it's face after 10 years. [ 05-20-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ] -
Ehm, Guyffon? Can you modify that link you provided like the way is described here. ubb code explanation Reading this topic is like watching a tennis match. It annoys sliding left and right everytime. The link doesn't get word-wrapped. You better hide it. Rico

Never use bc3k v2.0x in DOS-mode. Only v1 was intended to be used in Dos-mode. Or just DOS, as that was still a viable option at the time. Like the faq and/or version control file says. ONLY start bc3k 2.0x from WITHIN windows. As it was designed (actually, the SC re-designed) to work in that OS.

Sorry, was busy moving into my new 'mk3' (residence) until the 7th. Doing interiour decorating now. So it might still take a while until I'm back in service.

I think he means price due to inflation alone. 140% of the standard price mentioned in the trade appendix. Not your wealth increase, or profit if you like, the difference between sell and buy price. The actual price is also dependand on the class of the item (AD, HT, MN, RO, AG) and what station you trade with. Station-class AD means it buys HT at a 10% increase, sells AD at a 10% decrease. So where is the best place to get your radine? ------------------ Cmdr. I don't think AW is a good idea. Make that efficient. If I remembered correctly download time of the executable (v2.something) was pretty big. Several MBs. Not everybody has ADSL or cable. And it's easy for people to get lost in the village. Heck, I even don't know anymore where I put the building. Yeah, close to mine, and somewhere near ISS HQ. But the rest? Besides, you sure nobody in need of space buldozed it? My, it should be collecting dust overthere! But it sure was fun back then. I think we're better of with Mirc It's small, no-nonsense chat. (version 5.82; 1MB) We'd have to arrange a server to meet on. But that's as easy as mentioning it here when you intend to connect to it. Last time we all here were in a chat frenzy we had gamesnet or something. And somebody had made sure that there was a #galcom channel available at all times. When you get connected (have patience) it asks for a channel, just type in "galcom", and it put's you with the rest of us or creates it new and you will be the first visitor. I guess nobody ever went on it anymore, so they removed it. The SC removed the chat client on this site too. No worries, installing mirc is as easy as a whistle. Self-explanatory. Unless everyone has ICQ. I don't have it on this system. Yet. Didn't it have a chat screen option too? ------------------ Cmdr. quote:maybe you could defect to the insurgents as a double agent That's my point! I didn't! So who am I to blame for not getting the info? Yes, a meeting is a very good idea. It's the right time for it. But since timezones are the big issue, and I don't know where every one lives, I won't suggest anything yet. But I am available on friday night and saturday during the evening and night if neccesary (GMT+1, 1900 to 0300; so for EST, 1300 to 2100). Perhaps I'll even make it deep into the nighter if we have a good go. Sunday evening (GMT+1, after 1700) is no possibility for me. ------------------ Cmdr. Last thing I heard was that I was supposed to go on an intel mission. (fleet DB) ... Now I know why we never got any intel news flashes about Gallions defection from Prime Fleets Intel Office. ------------------ Cmdr. Ok, no cheat. I expected Dreada had another way of replenishing the debrisfield, other than the way I learned from Rattler's post. (Ohso, that's your cue!!, go search) Never considered the "shuttle 1 collect my target" command. I need to remember that and try. I allways just put them on the cargosweep command. This should save running around. ------------------ Cmdr. Rico Jansen GCV de Ruyter, Genesis (Moon) 16 Squadron Leader - Prime Fleet, Gamma Wing, 1st Squadron

I just got word that Delta wing doesn't have a wingleader yet. And it has 5 members in it. Isn't that strange? BTW what happend to all of Prime Fleets senior staff. (Except Thomas and SC ofcourse) They didn't cross over to the Insurgents too, did they? Sure sounds like it. It's quiet at GalcomHQ. And can I make a suggestion, that whenever a commander is assigned as a new member to a squadron, their names are enter into the Squadron Leader's comm log in the database. ------------------ Cmdr. No Wing Leader has been assigned yet to Delta Wing. And I see there are 5 commanders in Delta. Good point. Time to start yelling up the chain of command. Atleast you guys need a wing leader. According to the fleet structure jpg of a long time ago Cmdr Robertson is incharge of Personnel for Prime fleet. But I haven't heard from him around here for a long time. I think we need another Primefleet roll-call up in the ranks again thesedays. As for signatures, almost the same as mine, only I'm a squadron leader in Gamma's 1st squadron. So you'll have to change that or remove it. For you: GCV your_ship, Starpath (Mars) Primefleet, Delta Wing, (n)th Squadron Displayed motto should be the same for the whole wing, so needs to be dropped here on the forum, or convince the wing leader to change to yours. (now, there you are lucky ) ICQ numbers generally go into the profile page. Anybody who wants to know your email adress or ICQ number can check that on your profile page by clicking the first icon on top of each post you make. ------------------ Cmdr. quote:They instantly had full holds and returned to my BC. Well, you should have removed your ATV and minning drone from your shuttle. This way they would have hold out alot longer for sure. (2000-750(atv)-750(minning drone=500(free space=25%)) And perhaps you just got (un)lucky that they sweeped a cargo box with fairly 'large' items. This doesn't mean your shuttle contains alot of items worth alot of credits, or valuable repair items. Though it could be that you have several upgrades or other usefull stuff in that box. Which is ofcourse very nice. My personal experience is that in the beginning of the game cargoboxes are fairly stuffed with items. But as the games progresses, perhaps due to regions getting activated and taking up the computer resources, cargoboxes tend to get leaner. But I haven't got an exact idea why. And yes, I've had my shuttles run after empty boxes hundreds of times. Also in a new game. Nothing wrong you are doing. Keep on sweeping commander, p.s. I should have asked about the game version you are playing. It should be 2.09 ofcourse. Not that I can remember anychanges wrt debris fields in previous versions. ------------------ Cmdr. Yes, I'm still here. Only weekends though. I did make a few posts here and there the past months. And ICQ is on a different computer so I wasn't to be found on that either (mom moved away and took it with her, if you know what I mean) Remo, You said you're ill. Man, you sound like it's long term or even chronicle. I hope not. I'm sorry if you said it before and I didn't pick up. The best of health from me here. I haven't got a clue where those people from 1st went. But as I said, they were assigned before the database went online. I don't consider them part of 1st anymore. As far as I know they are inactive fleet members. But I'm sure whenever the MP demo is released it's gonna be water pumping here. ------------------ Cmdr. quote:chief-of-security-on-Voyager-lookalike Hmmm?!?!?! Conspiracy theory?!?!?! Didn't I see an episode of Voyager where an awayteam went to earth a few centuries in the past? (or future to us) I can faguely remember that episode so I'm not sure what it was exactly. But consider this then: Vulcans can do without sleep a few days. They have an extraordinary endurance level. ... What's the maximum length of days we've seen the SC make? Vulcans are notorious for their adherance to logic reasoning, and are unable to lie. (so they say, ofcourse) ... Have you ever been able to catch the SC on inconsistant reasoning or lying? I'm telling you. Parias, you're on to something there. He's undercover. As of yet I have no motive yet. But I will eventually. I'm sure! P.S. And then there's another thing. Which bc3k craft resembles most the starship Voyager. And didn't the show air roughly at the same time as BC3k appeared? p.s. 2 Ofcourse I voted. There's only one that can pull that off ------------------ Cmdr. Actually, I have practically no idea who's part of 1st squadron besides me. I wish that Gamma Wing Personel Office send me an memo about who's in and what their email adresses are. 1st squadron was established before the fleet database went online, alot of people were assinged to 1st but I haven't seen many of them active or online since. I must say I haven't been here as frequent here either. But I've got all the hardware for BCM, I only need the time and the CD and I'm out there in the vastness. Oh yeah, and that cable connection in the next few weeks. Anyway, yesterday I counted about 8 people in Gamma Wing. (Al besides Badgerius, so there could be some staff people in there too) Enough to fill up one squadron almost full strength, or two squadrons half strength. I don't care, I'll live with the orders from above. So, unless 1st if filled, I welcome you to join. ------------------ Cmdr. Ahh, I see were I screwed up. I provided my last name too for the username, as is(was) neccessary for this forum (and the beta). I guess the fleet database cut off everything after the space when I registered. Oh well. just something to keep myself on my toes. Thanks for the help, now on to see what happend to my pic. later, Rico

Thomas? Did you do anything to my fleet database profile. I noticed my pic turned into a broken link. And when I tried to log-on it said quote:user 'Rico Jansen' not found! and I was certainly looking at it before. I also tried to request my password via email, as I wasn't sure anymore if it was correct. But here it could not find my email adress. Very strange. I know I have a Yahoo account, but I never had much trouble with it here on the site. I was allowed to keep it. If the email addres is the problem, I now have an ISP account and email adress to go with it. If you need to change it, make mine: [email protected] ------------------ Cmdr. quote:"so how does that Radine reaction really work?" I pretty much consider the reactor and engine black boxes. Fuel goes in, a command switch is set and energy or movement comes out. But judging by the fuel consumption (since one or two versions ago), it seems like there is a black hole in it. ------------------ Cmdr.
